Watching you plant those crops gave me an idea-with place anywhere, you could approximate something like the Three Sisters planting technique using Gourds, Tatos, and Corn. It's how Native Americans used to farm Squash, Beans, and Maize. It's a space-effective way of farming that makes the plants hardier against weather and pests/blights. Something that could be useful with all the radstorms and mutated critters around. The cornstalk serves as a central pillar, the beans (or in this case tatos) serve as a sorta lattice that surround and support the corn stalk, and the squash (or gourds, here) cover the soil and area around them and keep pests out. I wonder how it would look in FO4. Might be a total nightmare for settler assignment/animation, but it might be really neat! Something to think about!
Its been awhile for me since I've been on glad to see another wonderful build, love it!. Question, will you be doing Nuka World Red Rocket by any chance in the furture? would love to see it. And again thanks for the wonderful work you do.😉
Welcome back and thanks! I am aiming to build at every location including the DLC, so will be getting around to the Nuka World Red Rocket at some point... just not sure when 😅👍
at 0:45 in i see you lock the object and raise it, what are the keys that you use to do that; i have trouble deciphering the key-binds in the settings menu and haven’t been able to find it. i would love to utilize this trick in my own settlement builds! Thank you so much for sharing your videos! it got me back into playing the game again!
Great to hear you have been enjoying and finding the videos useful, thanks! The raising of objects is a feature of the Place Everywhere mod and unfortunately is not part of the base game. You can find a list of all the mods features and hotkeys on its Nexus page: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424
I was wondering what you were going to do with the crop area. Turned out a lot better than I expected! By the way, did you watch the Fallout TV series?
@@sungarcia421 Although I do love Lucy it has to be the Ghoul, pretty much steals every scene he is in. Really enjoyed all his pre-war sections as well, and intrigued to find out how he survived just after the bombs fell and what happened to his daughter.
If I may ask a question I have tried to install the place any where mode on vortex but it still doesn't want to work can any one maybe give me some inside what I may be doing wrong and also when I build how can I expand my build limits
Not sure how you got Vortex to install Place Anywhere as that’s an Xbox mod… maybe try installing Place *Everywhere* as that’s the PC version 😜🤣 Being serious though make sure when you start the game that you are using ‘f4se_loader.exe’ and not the games normal ‘fallout4.exe’. If you are starting the game from within Vortex you can set F4SE to be the primary tool. Once in game verify that F4SE is running by opening the console and typing _getf4seversion_ , if this does not display the current F4SE version (should be 0.6.23) then it’s not running and Place Everywhere will NOT work. When installing Place Everywhere do NOT install the optional INI files as they are not needed. The mod is a F4SE plugin and will not show up in game or display any messages to say its installed. A simple way to test if the mod is running in game is to press one of the function keys, for example pressing F2 you should see ‘Surface snap off’ message appear in the top left hand corner. I use the weapon storage glitch using Gamma guns to reset the size bar when needed, no mods are needed. You can see it in action here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PLg0cFpVUH0.htmlsi=rSP2gDXW7bBO7Ti2
@@Vandal_Savage lol, I don’t think it’s actually possible to Xbox mods on PC… was just having a little joke due to them mixing up the mod names 😉. Even with Place Everywhere installed for the most part you will not be able to select objects outside the settlement border. If you build an object inside the border first, you can then move and place it outside and then select it again as I do at various points during this part. You can also turn on ‘extra object selection’ mode by pressing INS, which will allow you to select and scrap some objects outside the borders. These are typically objects that are not static or part of a pre-combine, an example of this would be the two red cars just outside this settlement which can be moved or scrapped using this method.
@@FiddleflapsVids thanks for the reply! Yes, I just tested it out and I can move stuff I've built outside the area but not pick up stuff already there. I've watched quite a few settlement building vids and yours were the ones that finally inspired me to install the place anywhere mod and start using it, so I'm still quite new to all it's features! I've also installed a few other mods that unlock previously hidden items in the build menu but use them very rarely and never for critical parts. Seeing how you use the basic stuff gives me plenty of ideas 😊
I have the ‘update’ blocked and wont be installing it until there are updates for the mods I use. I believe the only new settlement objects are some Halloween decorations, and don’t think some Power Armor skins are really enough for an Enclave themed build. Plus although I may hate Preston (come on everyone does) I am a Minuteman guy 😉👍
Updated fixed dlc broken in playstation and boston finally work without crash or dropp fps !!! 0kb glitch of playstation finally was fixed and incan use all my CC mods finally. The only question which i have now is about items in settlements if they still fall by load cell and map or it was fixed? Because oc decorator and olace anywhere are death now with new update.
Congrats, happy to hear you are happy with the update. The wonky object physics is a Creation Engine thing and doubt it will ever be fixed, even in Starfield I would walk into rooms only to have objects fly off the shelves at me 🤣.
@@Therake2602 The only ‘fix’ I am aware of is to using mods that either add static objects such as OCDecorator, or that can turn existing ones Static like I do with Place Everywhere.
@@FiddleflapsVids both mods are broken now in Playstation for this new updated. Items of OC decorator show with purple texture now AND place anywhere directly crash my game when i start the game where i Let or in a new game.
Mines not broken 😜. As soon as the date of the “update” was confirmed I locked my Steam install along with taking a full backup of the game folder, so I’ll be able to keep building as I normally do 👍.
@@FiddleflapsVids I forgot that you can turn off automatic updates, but in general the update wasn’t very big, they added a couple of tasks where you just need to come to a point and kill
Yes, I expect any mods that require the script extender to stop working until its updated. I have set my 'appmanifest_377160.acf' file to read only to hopefully prevent Steam from auto updating the game until mod updates are available.
ideas for my vanilla settlement. tomorrow is coming next gen. is sad that all mods will die. i just hope that it fix broken dlc in playstation. For that i am looking vanilla builds videos because mods will be waiting for a time until that they will be updated with next gen update.
@@FiddleflapsVids fortunelly i wont stop to play Fallout 4 a good Time. Settlement mecanic was one of the best stuff that they added together with new power armor AND legendary dropp mecanic , Is sad that they couldn't Explode the potential of this AND the community have to do that with mods. It really give you infinite of hours to be creative sincerelly. Is like Minecraft which can be the only game That you can play because you can do a Lot things there.
