This channel is dedicated to sharing the stuff I build in Fallout 4.
I mainly focus on trying to create lore friendly builds using only vanilla and DLC objects (with some additional objects spawned using console commands), with Place Everywhere being the only settlement mod being used.
In addition to the settlement tours I have also started to share videos of how some of my settlements were constructed, and have uploaded blueprints for my settlements using the Transfer Settlements mod to NexusMods if you would like to use them in your own game.
If you like what I do, have a suggestion or question please drop a comment to let me know and thanks for checking out the channel 😊
@@olaeusouodanilo I build using the Place Everywhere mod (PC) and although most of the pieces still use the vanilla snapping I find using the mods option to disable surface snapping does make placing them easier. I believe the Place Anywhere mod for Xbox has a similar option to disable global collision so might be worth giving that a try?
It took me 4 hours to build a perimeter wall and you build half a new settlement in 35 minutes lol… awesome work. Do you know it the” place anywhere “ mod will work with the recent update? Vanilla is so frustrating!! I’m used to 7 days to die building, which is a breeze compared to FO 4
lol, I do plan out the builds before I record the vids and don’t show the many hours it takes working out how everything’s going to look 😅😆 I have not updated my game yet as there are still a few mods I use that are broken by it. Place Everywhere (PC) has been updated but is still missing some features, not sure if Place Anywhere (Xbox) has been updated although I don’t really follow console mods.
I’m lost for words!!! the amount of hours you have devoted to this in depth detailed build, I thank you for every single one of them! truly appreciate your effort and vision and sharing with us all!!
Just started playing Fallout 4 a couple weeks ago and finally decided to visit Vault 88. After realising i could actually build inside after completing a couple missions I instantly went to RU-vid to try and find inspiration for a vault. This is by far the best player made one i have seen yet and i just cant believe how well detailed it actually is. I know this is probably modded but is there any chance this has be ported or can be ported to X-box? I'd love to use this design for my Vault 88 and I think this takes the cake for one of the best player builds in all of Fallout 4. Well done man and amazing work👍
Great to hear you liked it and hopefully can provide some ideas for your own vault. I don’t own an Xbox (or any current consoles) so don’t have any plans to port the build, but I do have a full series showing how the vault was put together. Using Place Anywhere you should be able to follow along and build your own version, and possibly add you own touches here and there to make it your own build 👍😊
Sorry, but how do you manage to join the objects and stick them together without the game giving you issues? On PS5 it won't even let me get close to the trash fences.
I build using the Place Everywhere mod on PC. The closest alternative for PS5 would be QwaPA although from what little I have seen its unfortunately its rather limited in what it can do, and no where near as user friendly.
Loving how it's all coming together! I've got a few questions for you; 1) For the Place Everywhere mod, I saw on the mod page that it recommends not placing items outside the work area, but I've noticed that a lot of your builds are a little bit outside the borders. Have you come across any sort of issues with this? 2) The way you build is so deliberate and you have some stuff placed in advance. Do you put stuff together "off-camera" and then come back and build it again, or is this all done in the moment? Sorry if you've answered similar questions in the past, I'm still catching up on your videos in my free time! I'm using your Nordhagen Beach videos for inspiration on my current Horizon playthrough, but resources are hard to come by 😅
Great to hear you are enjoying how the build is progressing, and also finding the Nordhagen vids useful (I loved how that build turned out), thanks! 1) Never had a problem with objects being placed outside the border, although I try to not stray too far from the default borders with the furthest probably being the clifftop player home I built at Outpost Zimonja or maybe the ‘entrance bridge’ to Murkwater. All the objects are linked to the settlements workbench so as long as you stick to cells where the workbench cell is still loaded I imagine it should not cause problems. 2) I always build a rough version of the settlement first to plan everything out and then rebuild it for the videos and final tour. I like to pre-place certain pieces ‘off camera’ to act as snap points. Often my builds link up or are ‘anchored’ off certain structures and this ensures everything lines up correctly. I feel it also helps with the flow of the vids so you don’t have to watch me struggle to get certain sections lined up or positioned correctly (this often can take quite a while), and can just focus on showing how the structures fit together 😅.
Thanks! Yes, I have seen a couple of interesting modded locations that I would like to try building at, along with possibly using some object mods to add a little more variety to what I can build.
I’m playing FO 4 again, after the new up date and never got into building last time 8 plus years ago, but giving it a good go this time round, and found your channel, great work and very underestimated you need a lot more subs!!
The same as any other settlement, you’ll need to plant crops or have a provisioner linking to a settlement that provides food. I setup two areas to act as hydroponics labs which you can see in the finished tour, might give you some ideas on how you want to setup yours: *North Sector Hydroponics Labs* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K4dobKMRkEM.html *Northeast Hydroponics Lab* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K4dobKMRkEM.html
You're really the best. I recently found out about the Transfer Settlements mod and instantly started rebuilding all my settlements with your blueprints. In-game, it looks even better with graphic mods, npc mods, etc. Now Finch Farm is next, and I'm already intrigued.
Great to hear you have been using and enjoying the blueprints, thanks! Transfer Settlements is such a great mod and love the idea that people can use what I have built, but still have the option to customise and make the settlements their own 👍😁
@@HiNoobUA They are added using the _placethere_ console command followed by the objects Form ID. For example _placethere 0004B6E9_ spawns a First Aid Box.
Im having a hard time right now and your videos are just the ticket to chill me right the flip flops down. Thank you for another awesome build segment!
I absolutely love your building designs. I try to imitate them in my own builds. But they never seem to be as convincingly immersive as your wonderful builds.
lol, thanks! One of the many benefits of pre-placing snap points before recording, plus a later section of the build anchors off this point so it was important I get it exactly placed. During a previous build I had to re-do several videos all due to one section being ever so slightly out of alignment right at the start, causing the rest of the build to no longer line up 😔.
Stumbled upon your channel about a week ago and I've been loving watching your builds! Then I'm scrolling through my feed and saw this vid come up, saying "Posted 12 seconds ago"?!? Last time I was this early to something it was my premature birth 😂 Finch farm is one of my favorite settlements, excited to see how you spruce it up!
When you feel like you're doing something well and then someone shows you how much you actually suck at it 😥 This is easily the best looking Sanctuary I've ever seen.
@@FiddleflapsVids Nice work man. Subscribed and will be watching your other builds. I watch a lot of F4 build video's. No idea why I haven't seen your channel before. I have a question though. Well two actually. 1) Sometimes it's easy to tell if someone is rebuilding something for the camera that they already made, or if they are trying stuff out and make a lot of mistakes on the way. I honestly can't tell with your videos. You've either got a great memory or you just don't make mistakes. Which is it? 🤔 2) Do you not suffer from your brain screaming when you build something and the plants are sticking through it? I couldn't take it anymore and as I don't want to use a scrapper mod I just try to avoid those areas, make sure I'm building over the top of them, or put something big over them like a Nuka Cola machine or something.
@@Wolfways Hope you enjoy checking out some of the other builds and thanks for the sub 👍😁 1) All my build vids are pre-planned and practiced a few times before I record. For each settlement I always build a ‘rough’ version first, then rebuild it for the build vids and finished tour. 2) Sort of 😉😆. Where possible I try to build around the various plants and shrubs that can’t scrapped, and it’s something I have been doing more when planning my more recent builds. Sometimes I feel it can even look quite good, and give an overgrown run down look. Of course I would prefer to be able to remove them but also choose not to use scrapping mods, and so have got quite good at just mentally blocking them out 😅.
I also had trouble finding them due to their strange editor ID being ‘BoxWood’, ended up having to load the Institute Cell to find out what they were called: *BoxWoodRnd01* 001728D0 *BoxWoodStr01* 001728D1 *BoxWoodTall01* 001728D2
It’s done using the Place Everywhere mod (for Xbox you would need to use Place Anywhere), I have a list of all the mods I am using in this playthrough linked in the description.
There you go again teaching me new hacks to make building easier. I am referring to the use of barn/warehouse floors to create a straight edge along which to build a wire fence. Another of your simple ideas that, once seen, makes perfect sense. Looking forward to seeing how this one pans out.
Lol, I always seem to struggle placing those wire fences, no matter how careful I am they always seem to veer off and end up at weird angles 😅 Great to hear you are looking forward to seeing more, thanks!
It would have been nice for the build area to have been bigger here, along with the option to scrap more things… of course as with most Bethesda games there’s mods to fix both those issues 😉😆
This was recorded a couple of days ago, I had the ‘update’ blocked as soon as they announced the release date 😆. The script extender has been updated, as has Place Everywhere although sadly its missing a few features that I hope the author will be able to fix. Still in no rush, and it’s not like the ‘update’ adds anything of value that I am missing out on while I wait for mod updates 😉👍.
@@unicron12002 Great to hear the builds have been able to provide some ideas, thanks! As long as you have an older save file (from before you updated) there are options to revert back to the previous version of the game, by either manually downloading it via the Steam Depots or there is a mod that will do it for you: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81630
The build mostly uses vanilla snapping but there are a few spots where I clip things into the ground and you would need to come up with your own design. No plans to rebuild this without Place Everywhere, sorry 😔
Looks very natural! I use xbox X and use place anywhere mod and i still have the timeout counter when i walk out the red. Idk if there is somthing im missing from it but i thought that it was supposed to have options for it. I ended up looking for a while for another mod and only found one that was easy enough to do but only extended the limit to 15second. Most cases its fine but id like it for it to be longer sometimes. Help please?
Thanks! I am using Place *Everywhere* on PC, not sure if Place Anywhere for Xbox has the timeout feature. Unfortunately I am not that familiar with mods available for consoles and don’t know of a suitable alternative that you could use.
The build mostly uses vanilla snapping so a lot of what’s shown could be replicated without a placement mod. There are a few spots where objects are clipped into the terrain, and for those areas you would need to either make rooms smaller or come up with your own design for them.
