Most of the mods you’ve mentioned are on the Xbox as well. If you type a mod into the search bar and it doesn’t show up, type the mod authors/uploaders name instead. Should be able to find them somewhere online. I had to do this to a few that wouldn’t come up when searched. Console mod storefront is a labyrinth, but I’m pretty happy with my current load order.
Bought Fallout 4 for the first time since I never had a gaming PC and knew I needed mods to fully experience the game. Your list is perfect, I came back to it after going on a download spree after 4 hours. You did in amazing list!
This is just what I needed before the update I finally got fallout on my computer to mod it more than you can on Xbox or PlayStation but I was upset to find out many of the mods I wanted would break after the update however considering I’ve never done a vanilla play through these mods would work great to just enhance the game a little
High FPS Physics Fix is working for me with the updated F4SE. Having increased frame rate and faster loading times is a game changer (literally). I followed your Vortex tutorial, and everything worked like a charm.
Great List, thank you! I Played my last play through around 4 years ago, after playing FO4 with around 85 Mods for several years. Lost all my mods to a disc crash and stopped then to go and play other games. The TV Show refreshed my Fallout love and I wanted to restart fully new with new mods. Only to find out that the NextGen update killed a lot of my old fav mods anyway. So far I'm really liking your List. And I always had a Green Mod for emersion, because it's complete rubbish that the Earth would be fully dead after atomic disasters. People should just have a look around Hiroshima and Nagasaki or Chernobyl, everything is green and wild there and that's not even 90 years ago for the bombs and 50 years for Chernobyl. Of course nature isn't fully healthy, animals and plants are effected, but have adapted. The Wasteland definitely should have areas of complete devastation because nukes are still used in the game's timeline. But there is no reason to have the entire world be grey and dead, or there wouldn't be any animals either. Thanks for that List. :)
For those experiencing "sped up" gameplay after the high fps physics fix - simply turn on Radeon Chill or limit Nvidia cards to 60 FPS. Alternatively - go into the HighFps physics ini file and set the vsync vairable to FALSE instead of TRUE. Enjoy!
Vortex tells me Clarity and Enhanced Lights & FX contains the same files and I have to decide which one to load first...What to choose? But awesome list. Exactly what I was looking for - some visual improvements while keeping the game mostly Vanilla.
No. Clarity ---> WET ---> ELFX ---> previs patches by Exoclyps for ELFX ---> Gloomy Glass Clarity's glass edits are horrid... everything else, just ESP edits are fine, mostly. Clarity also fucks with WET's settings, which is why LOOT loads WET after. Also look up WETTER... Requires WET and is another variant of WET basically.
I'm with you that I want the game to feel more modern after modding, but not filled up with "waifus" or modern military stuff. I also use "Fall UI" for the HUD, "More Realistic Handmade Pipe Weapons", some retextures of all the objects in the game (mostly higher res textures for all the stuff you come across, like ammo boxes, Stim packs, clutter etc.) and various fixes like the "High FPS Physics Fix". Guess I'll have to give this game another go, after it swallowed my ~150 h save game. 🙄
I need to give High FPS Physics Fix a try now that F4SE is working again, plus I need some good weapon texture packs as well. Sorry to hear about 150h save game. I've wanted to downgrade but figure it's best to try and test each of the next gen updates to see how they go
I honestly hate the yellow grass of vanilla, if you're gonna have grass, it should be normal green fking grass(can be dull, low saturation green, but it has to be GREEN), if you want a "desolate, dead world look" then, just remove the grass and have a rocky/dirty landscape.
You are correct. Even in real life situations, bombing 2 cities in Japan, the incident in the USSR (nuclear plant in Ukraine), and after tsunamis, grass has always come back, and it is green. Need further facts? Check out the islands used in the Pacific for the testing of nuclear bombs. Green grass grows there. Okay, time to play again. Have fun.
@@IrishKelly-d9bNot to mention that plant life always returns first in those situations, with most animals re-colonizing only after grass and scrub and trees have been re-established. In the vanilla game, I always found myself wondering what the heck the Radstags and untamed Brahman are eating.
One of my personal essentials: "Pack Attack" 🔥😎 (not really recommendable for a first playthrough while you're still learning, but for a second one or later definitely)
I’m in Xbox and it’s hard to find cool mods. I found one that replaced all the plant textures and made the wasteland covered in green. Don’t remember the name but it’s crazy how an art style change can change up how the game feels.
Xbox actually had a lot of good mods, but the mod search system is terrible. You can search for a mod, and only find mods that have nothing to do with what you searched, rather than the mod you’re searching for. Example: I tried searching for an outfit mod, I only found 36 of the same call of duty weapon mod. The system is horrible, but does have many really good mods
Bethesda should’ve made Diamond City a major player hub. Could’ve expanded on house territory’s and a mini game of baseball would’ve been a cherry on top.
Most of them are not available on PlayStation4. ps5 version crashes whenever you load a mod that requires all dlcs - and it is the most part of all best mods.
Sony imposed strict limits on mods, ie, no outside files from beyond the game, which is the main reason why mods on PlayStation are extremely limited in contrast with Xbox.
It's funny, the ridiculous loading times for this game haha... I'll sit here and watch a few FO4 vids while a place is loading...IDK maybe it's my brand new 7200 SSD that I bought last week ... hehe. The 2 mods I always get are autoswitch (let's you use kb/m and controller together) and more hot keys... those are a must for me. I can use kb/m to play and the controller to build. The hotkey mod takes care of the 'that button is reserved' BS....
Nice one! I followed your guide, but if script extender don't work with this new gen version, how do you launch the game with these mods working? If I try inside Vortex, I just get an version message error. And if launch from the official launcher, in the main menu MOD option does not open, just gives an error too.
Xbox has a lot of good mods, and most of them work, but after the update the graphical mods like enhanced lights and vivid tank performance and cause even more crashing than the update itself already caused
The Next Gen update BGS pushed is really rough. The F4SE dev talked about how unstable it is. BGS is already working on another patch for the next gen patch, and it will likely arrive this week or next I think. Hopefully it can address some of those issues.
A few of the mods that you listed require the DLC for Fallout 4, at least that is what it's telling me from the "Missing Masters" notification in Vortex. I don't have the DLC, so I was wondering if there is a way around that? I bought the base game for $5 or so when the steam sale was up, as many newbies like me did, so I didn't take the DLC into consideration.
You need the DLC if the mod requires it. Some of the best looking mods (like Enhanced lights & FX) are locked behind it.. so you gotta find vanilla substitutes
Thank you for the video, but I don't think green foliage and bright colors suit the Fallout vibe. It should be darker, sandier, and more desperate-looking :)
Personally not a fan of remaking all the textures but man your past video made my game play soo much better! Now I'm stutter free and on high fps as it should be! ❤😂
PC players should definitely downgrade to the previous version and play on a portable instance with MO2. It's easy to do and you'll have access to all the mods that don't work on the current version.
@@Liam-i8f I'm not sure. I did it on a fresh install and started a new game. There are two separate downgrade patchers over on the nexus and neither one of them say that you have to start a new game, but neither confirm that you can do it mid-playthrough either. Kind of surprising that there's no conclusive answer on it since you'd think that'd be one of the most common questions asked 🤷♂.
Psycho LUT requires autumn reshade, which requires a certain enb. ENBdev said that enb currently doesn't work with the update, so how does Psycho LUT actually work now?
Any recommendation to keep settlers and invaders taking stuff from my storage? I'm just started playing a few days ago and I'm quite new to modding as a whole, so I'd really appreciate some point in direction, thanks.
Correct... settlers will take any [nonmodded/vanilla] food/water in the local Workshop, can be configured with Workshop Framework a bit... But yeah anything you consider valuable food, just have it somewhere else.
I followed your vortex video and for some reason my mods wouldn't load until selecting to reinstall them and allowing them to reinstall a second time. Not sure why but it's all working now. Thanks!
Great video, from my experience a lot of modders on PC are planning to stay downgraded indefinitely. The F4SE was changed so much from the previous version that the majority of F4SE mods authors are refusing to use it or update. So time will tell, but it looks as if old gen will be the best for a long while.
4:26 why I don't have a mod green in the commonwelth v3 available on my console (Xbox X), despite adding it to the library on website. I only see version 2.9...
Perfect Timing, I just got fallout 4 for the first time, and was looking what mods can improve my Experience "Vanilla". I'm getting a file conflict error with Clarity and Enhanced Lights, Which should go first?
Right on! Thank you! Oh I forgot about that, I will check tonight after work when I can pull up Vortex. Vortex has a suggested order for the two and I can't remember which I picked.
Is there a mod that makes some of the messages, mainly for how much exp you get after a kill and also notices that one of your settlements is being attacked, stay up longer? Sometimes the exp goes away before the VATS animation completes and the attacks on settlements can go away before the screen completes loading in areas are Diamond City and I completely miss them. Thanks!
So i've downloaded the Mods you suggested from Vortex in your previous video. I use Nvidia Geforce to open Fallout 4. How do I apply the Mods that i downloaded from this video into the game opening up Fallout 4 on Nvidia GeForce?
Easy.. i guess you deleted steam? Do the tollowing; In nvdia geoforce search for fo4 game amd change all the settings to low. Then start the game once via steam (or gog or epic) and report back here for step/tip 2... Tip 3 is what ypu need in the end
Most players actualy sit on downgrade, its easy to do, its WAY more stable, and it has ALL the mods we fell in love with and build our mod lists around the past couple of years. dont go Next Gen. Leave the Game to the modders and get ur hands off of it Bethesda. As it should be, since this com safed literaly every one of your games to date in hindsi9ght. so ... just go somewhere else. thanks.
Yes, Vivid Fallout All in One just touches landscape textures, trees, rocks, roads, bridges and some concrete stuff. The 2k texture pack I recommend hits buildings, file cabinets, and a ton of other items.
@@kingscorpion26m no, Sony severely limits mods on PlayStation, by policy they don't allow any files that aren't already present in the original game, hence why the PlayStation pool of mods is so limited
I installed the mods and my fallout doesn't look anything like the one in your video. a few points as an example: over-sharpness, dreary and not pretty. What did i do wrong? PC Version. There were no mod settings except for the Enhanced Lights & FX mod Pls help thank you
@@Silverlion_90 yea this game is just weird in and of itself. No matter what settings I have some areas just can't keep 60fps and dip into the 50s and sometimes high 40s for a second or two. I've played on a 1660ti and 4060 and both at 1080p.
@@curtharakaly4620 well for me the issues were being caused by a mod called Green wasteland I think. The some areas it would just plummet my fps. I turned it off and now I am playing at a stable 60 fps
I do. It's more realistic that after 200 years things would be overgrown. Most of the plants in Chernobyl didn't even die following the explosions there.
@@JonnyCrackersExactly! After any kind of natural (or unnatural) disaster, it's always the plant life that returns first, and the animals only re-colonize afterwards. What the heck do people think the radstags and wild Brahmin are living on? Dust? And without them, no wild mongrels. And awfully scrawny deathclaws!!
@@BBKDRAGOON don’t know I’ve tried looking it up I can’t even access the mods section to turn them off so I’ve just uninstalled the game and deleted all saves as I wasn’t very far into the game as I started fresh with the new update my friend said he could access them last night but hasn’t tried today but I havnt been able to access them at all for like 4 days so I don’t know if a mod broke my game or not I’ll see when the install finishes
If there is one thing i've learned from Playing the Game on my friends console it's that: If you're trying to Mod the game on Console you're not gonna have a great time if you have PS4/5.
I've never played Fallout 4 but I've heard it can't deal with frame rates above 60. I think there's a mod to fix this (only works on downgraded version of FO4 though). Is there a new version of this mod that works on the upgraded version?
Not that I know of. FO4 is limited to 60 fps because the game speed is tied to the frame rate; something else Bethesda's "next gen update" should have fixed but didn't. The mod you're referring to is High FPS Physics Fix and with it I'm able to get FPS numbers well over 300, but I cap my FPS at 240 because that's the limit of my monitor's refresh rate. Unfortunately, High FPS Physics Fix hasn't yet been updated to the new Script Extender so until if/when that happens you're stuck at 60.
@RichSmithify ahh OK thanks Rich! I'll keep my eye out for that update. Might be a while before I get round to FO4 anyway. Still a bit hooked on No Rest for the Wicked and there's a couple other games I never did finish
@@MOSES-ThePhotoModeGuru A word of warning though. Without mods FO4 is a game; with mods FO4 is a hobby. Once the mod bug bites you can kiss your wife and girlfriend and your old life good-bye.
@@camcooolback4115 even with F4SE updated, if mods that require it aren't updated to the next gen version as well they won't work. Best bet is to revert to pre next-gen and use the older stable F4SE and mods that were stable before next-gen. Or just use a very few select mods while playing the next-gen version because it will probably remain unstable-ish for a little bit while Bethesda keeps updating things. For me the only mods I really need to have are Place Everywhere, GMoi6's Pipe Gun Retextures, High Fps Physics fix, See Through Scopes, Classic Holstered Weapons, Boss Chests Contain Legendaries, Full Dialog Interface and No More Monochrome for the pip-boy to show item's in actual color and not the green, white, blue or whatever color the pip-boys interface is. Which some require F4SE and the Address Library. But throwing too many mods in the next-gen version probably isn't a smart idea with how unstable it is right now. And you can always add more mods slowly as times goes on and things get more ironed out, but you can't really take out a lot of mods mid playthrough without risking tanking your entire save file.
Unfortunately the game is going to update AGAIN - which literally is going to break all the mods that just got repaired. I'm so sick of Bethesda games.
no, it just means the mods that relied on f4se can have their mod creators work on an update that aligns with the new version of f4se. What's nuts is another update is coming from bethesda which will likely break f4se again
It does! There are some great RU-vid tutorials. I recommend explicitly adding steam deck to the search query, even if you run Bazzite or ChimeraOS instead of SteamOS
if you have the gog version , its going to be a long wait. their version still has the old 1.10.1.63 and no the script extender has not been updated if you want to risk using it as is cause from what ive read their still working on it. im looking through my list of mods that dont use either the f4se or looksmenu, and for some reason i cant get into presets that dont require both, their in there but it wont let me use them.
I came to a realization instead of me trying to make fallout look better and play better. Why not turn fallout into one of the better fallout games such as New Vegas, I put all Focus into making fallout 4. More like fallout 3 and New Vegas, deleted all my vivid graphic packs, 2K packs and pixel packs. Instead i got weather mods, landscape mod and a ton of fallout 3 and mv mods. Removedd most of the grass added geckos, mantis, cazadores and other nv creatures as well as nac mod to add orange hue and tweak with bloom and contrast. Everyone trying to make fallout look hyper realistic, i just want my fallout to be like the good ol days
@@random-guy579 tbh, downgrader is kinda overrated. (At least from what I've seen on the Nexus) 90% of mods don't need a down grader to function or have been updated to nextgen. So unless you're playing Fallout London (which is understandable) you generally don't need to downgrade at all.
I got a PC a couple months ago. 4090. Never played fallout before. Wanting to get into it after watching the show. Is it easy to mod? I've modded Jedi survivor and RDR2.
@@lorianyousif2646 I think it was 'achievements mod enabler'.I don't remember if you have to update the script extender. It took me a little searching and watching some old and new youtube vids on it but it works for me (on PC - I have no idea if this works on consoles)
