Big shout-out to Fiddleflaps Vids on RU-vid as his build of Hangman's was my inspiration for my build.
Apologies for the janky movement and stuttering in the video. This was sort of a rushed one-take as this settlement gets attacked a ton due to the NPC's travel mod. This was the only I didn't get attacked while recording even though a group of Yao-Guis appeared towards the end lol.
Despite this settlements tiny nature, pathing issues, and that stupid shack you can't delete, Hangman's Alley is my favorite settlement in the base game. I love the verticality and the fact it's basically in the shadow of Diamond City. I did my best to make this settlement more lived in and realistic to Fallout's world. I was going for a tiny town where people can stop by on their way to and from Diamond City and maybe grab something that may or may not be found at Diamond City.

With fallout 5, i imagine that problem will be fixed Settlements should be more secondary and npc towns should be the focus

Thank you! The graphics and textures are a combination of a custom ENB, Fallout 4 HD Overhaul mod, and Grasslands.

Wonderful build. Fantastic decorations. I've always wished we could have had at least to of the buildings available to build inside. None of them are collapsed. If I actually lived in the settlement, even as a raider, my first act would be to set up a cooking station and a place to sleep. lol But after that, my first act would be to Crack open all of the boarded up doors and scavenge inside the little businesses and homes. Then settle in said opened location. Not just build scrap metal and plywood *next* to the brick, stone, and mortar buildings *still standing*. But that's just me. lol You have built a wonderful settlement. Great job. Be Excellent to each other and to yourself and Party on. 🤘🎸😎

And that is why i insist on using mods... ;-) I use a mod that allows me to use the buildnings interiors, plenty of living place for my settlers. All traders have their stands inside, and I also provide a well stoked bar for my patrons! All farming i done is on the roofs, last build I settled for Sim Settlements 2. works like charm, I got at least 25-30 settlers in the settlement. Happiness is ca 95 percent at all times.... :-)

Thank you! As for the junk aesthetic, I just feel like it fits into the Fallout universe. Especially since no one knows how to clean after 200+ yrs of existence post war lol.

@@3inchkilla See, I can understand finding piles of trash along the roads and less used paths, and stuff, but if you're gonna settle down someplace and dig in like a tick so raiders can't pull you out, then at least use a broom for its intended purpose instead of breaking it down for components. If only for your health and not attracting radroaches, not to mention the impression you would make on caravans and merchants. To me, that's where the post apocalypse look breaks down. A thin wooden wall isn't going to stop a bullet, not even a .38 fired from a pipe pistol. Bethesda doesn't really stop to think too deeply about these things.

@@whiterabbit75 the issue is there really aren’t many options for clean settlement builds even with some creation club mods, let alone in vanilla. Unless you want to build only concrete walls and vault beds everywhere (like Grey Gaming), you’re stuck with the shack wall options Bethesda gave us. Fallout 76 is much better in this regard in terms of materials available to build decent looking structures.

Majority of the signs in this build are from a mod called The Kuro Tab.

I don't understand why Bethesda couldn't have just made these settlements along with the use of the buildings that are INTACT! For crying out loud, if you settle in a damn alley next to buildings that are still there, you can use the buildings too. Or at the least make a lot of settlements that built the world. I mean hell, Sanctuary should've already been an established settlement in the 200 years you were frozen. But nah, we have to be the ones to do it cause Bethesda can't write lol
