Fallout 4 Let's Build #15 - Sanctuary Front Gate + Clinic 

Keeping the videos around 15 mins from now on - as those 30 minutes and more ones were a little long. Plus I want to spend more time editing them and generally upping the quality. Which I will play around with from the next video. Enjoy!

When you build a front gate the night before he uploads a video and now you gotta spend Friday night knocking it down again because it's nowhere near as good as you thought it was...

Highly recommend building front gate from 2nd house on the right or workshop to the 4th house on the left or your old house. It’s the best spot for enemy spawn points. The bridge gate has 2 spawn points behind it if facing toward the bridge

Thank you again for a great build video. I now double gate my major gate entrances ... each opening opposite ways ... gives the illusion of a more solid obstacle to incoming raiders. Some are between concrete blocks and some are as you show, between "guard towers".

Good stuff~! I used the last one to step-by-step build my first 'cover-up' houses, and they both worked flawlessly :) (of course they did, cuz Davey said they would - but still, it was me tryin to do it).

I use those dual switch doors you did a tutorial on for a secondary door into my personal compound at starlight, and this was just what I was looking for as a sanctuary entrance for my minuteman character. Thanks.

Just finished building my entrance from your instructions. Looks pretty alright. The rug glitch was a bit of pain in the @ss though. Gonna have to check some more of your vids for ideas to "borrow" ;)

I love this entrance, I added lots to it but it wouldn't be the same without this, and surprisingly the ai seem to know their way around it even though I am at least 5 times over the size, and with all the rugged glitched items

I recommend putting a chem station on the side of the building. With a little awning over the top. could be where the dealer makes his supply :).

I'm trying to do that you do when you're building the walls for the tower legs but it doesn't move with the floor rugs like it does for you

I really love your videos mate.... I was wondering ... have you found a way to stop settlers leaving the gates open ? This has become a particular pain in the ass in hangmans alley, cause every time I try to get something done somewhere else, I get notified of an attack there.

Very nice videos. I've been trying to do the same thing in sanctuary (fill up the whole place) and what I've started doing and would suggest is have bridges or elevated pathways going from house to house. I have it set up where most have balconies or 1st floor patios and it looks and works nice.

I can't place my foundations where you did in the beginning

I place my gate first, and then rug in everything else. That way it is properly leveled, as it will sometimes float after using the rug.

the clinic build is a great idea but I don't know how you managed to get it into the shack. I have tried all type of rugs at different angles and I cannot place the clinic in there.

For the structural supports for those little stair bits couldn't you place down a floor, then a railing and rug glitch the railing into place and delete the floor? Sorry, i don't really do settlement building to this extent so i don't know... but it seems reasonable.

~8 years later~ I actually live near Lexington and Concord Massachusetts. Especially in the early morning hours, in early fall (which is also when the bombs dropped in game), it is very foggy.

you gave me inspiration for a guard tower. your is great, but i wanted something a bit more compact. made a self powered tower that has spotlights, and turrets, as well as a guard post that fits the same real estate as a vanilla guard tower.

Hey Davey, not sure if you have ever messed around with the box lights, but I made a pretty cool version of your clinic that has Red Cross symbols on the sides that light up red at night. You just have to build a platform against the side, build your cross, wire it up, delete the platform and the lights stay put. Then choose the dim red so it looks ghetto. Cheers mate!

what type of mod are you using that allows you to place your walls together like that?

I have really low luck, so I don't know if that affects it, but I am constantly running out of adhesive and ceramics. Adhesive is mostly for building weapons and such, but the ceramics is needed for powering my settlement. Since you are always using tons more power pylons than you need, is there anywheres I can find a large amount? Because I don't have the caps to buy shipments yet.

David, your videos are so helpful. I've just sat here and watched every one so now thanks to you I have Fallout brain. One thing I would request is if you could do a video explaining supply/trade routes. Every video I have watched hasn't really explained it. If you link all settlements such as Sanctuary to Nordhagen Beach do you have access to all materials from the settlements?

To answer your question no it's not always foggy but we do have our days in the fall and spring time

hey, I really like your videos, you're really the only fallout RU-vid I like to watch. but I was also wondering how you moved the flag like that at 8:56. I play on ps4 and was never able to figure out how to move objects up like that.

I just use the barn and other pre fab buildings then mark them as shops and clinic. My restaurant is the pre fab warehouse and barn house connected together then mark it as with liqoure signage outside

What level and how many days you have in Fallout? Nice buildings, btw. When I want to build something I come here to see some of your buildings. Nice work, keep going, I love your videos. And, don't be shame, I play Fallout on a E7500, 4gb ram, gt440 and have an antic hdd who run much slower then a turtle. The frame is about 30 avg, but are some points when 5fps avg or needed 10 min to loading, so, yeah, I love this game, I wished to have a better pc, but, I played watchsogs, gta 5, nfs rivals, so, yeah, btw, nice work man, this game is insane. Wait for next videos

if the Far Harbor dlc is really based in Maine, then there will be more fog than you can shake a uranium rod at.

There a new wall mount spot light blueprint in the dlc that I think would be great for this entrance

I have a bit of a request if thats okay. Could you show us how you'd build a personal use only settlement/ Like maybe one of the super tiny settlements that could be used for a personal hideout and not for a bunch of people. I find myself building very differently if i build it for just one person to live there.

Do your merchants ever go inside that style of shop you make ? In my game on PC the assigned NPC's almost never go inside the little buildings and stand at the stall. I've forced a few inside using the turret trick to push them around. When I revisit the location they are back outside the shop.

How do you clip things in each other?!

about your weather, I wonder if it's tied randomly to a play through because in my game it's rained maybe three times. I've gotten radiation storms with regularity but rain, rarely and fog, I don't remember very much fog at all.

At 8:00, wouldn't the guard's bodies be blocked by the wooden post? I think It would look better if you got rid of those shack wall windows and instead replaced it with the "doorway and railing window" or the other shack wall window with the blue curtain.so that you could see the guards standing. Just my 2 cents, awesome build I'm going to build that in my Tenpines Bluff settlement. Also, it's not that foggy in Boston, maybe during November but weather in Boston is just slightly better than terrible

when the geck comes out, we need a norespawns construction droid that can help build settlements if the supply demand is met. With that said, I hope bethesda comes out with a settlement building contest because I would be rooting for you to win it.
