to me the old Fallout dialogue zoom in was better, sorry to say. I really dont like how clunky the one in FO4 is, where the dialogue gets so easily interrupted Also really dislike FO4 animations of NPCs bodys how they move, idk how to describe it. Its more modern, yes, but it isnt made well imo. The only cool idling added in FO4 is the "smoking a cigarette" one or "sitting down"
That's fair to say, no need to apologize. I personally really like how F4 handles anims and dialogue but it isn't for everyone, and there's 100% a reason Bethesda went back to their classic system with Starfield.
@@nocturnal1147 actually while editing the footage together I noticed most of the voices were SUPER quiet. I needed to compress the dialogue quite a bit in that "example" section with Tobar to match with the F3 version, so you're correct. I don't know if they just didn't use compression on the dialogue or what not
In the few instances I recall there being revoiced mods of pre-existing characters, they have all mentioned the legality issue is a minefield they aren't willing or able to traverse. If you have a solution, please share it, because I've never seen a mod able to pull it off without later being C&Ded.
Really didn't like their Fawkes so I'm not excited to play upscaled Fallout 3 again. Sorry. Honestly, it feels like the fog wasn't a creative choice so much as it was a way to prevent pop in being obvious. There have been a lot of large worldspace mods and even the base game itself suffering from pop in and not fully rendered textures. I genuinely just think the fog is a workaround for that. Not one I would welcome either. I like being able to see things I. The distance. That Sniper Rifle you get for instance, kinda worthless in a world of perpetual fog. I would be far more excited if these teams were being _inspired_ by Point Lookout and imagining how it has changed since the years three was set. That would be exciting. But I don't feel like a shot for shot remake, free or not, is really all that exciting. I already have Fallout 3 if I want a hit of Nostalgia. Maybe it sounds harsh, but we already have the sequel to Point Lookout in the form of Far Harbour and I just don't think this adds value for me personally to download a complete remake when the original games are still there and still fine.
So I went back and played it in a livestream and the fog really clears up, it's just a part of the weather system and I mostly chose fog footage here for stylistic reasons. It seems there is a persistent green colouring all over the map, even with fog mostly dissipated. However I also understand personal taste plays a big part in whether or not you play something, so I can respect how you feel about this particular remake. Far Harbor IS phenomenal as both a spiritual successor and an expansion to F4
It's not something I've tested, but let me at least try it out at some point this week. We're returning to point Lookout for a stream on YT this week so I can try it out then
Yep! At the end of the day what's the point in making videos I don't like about things I don't enjoy? It only garners an audience that I would need to perpetually keep angry about something.
@@wedidntstartthefire1 I'm Canadian, so I'm familiar with native naming conventions but the localized pronunciations are a different story altogether (example: I never would ahve thought to pronounce Schuykill and "Skoo-kle")
I humbly request knowledge of if the microwave emitter is in this. It was my favorite weapon in all of Fallout 3 and point lookout is my favorite DLC of any game
wasnt project wasteland cancled, like they seperated.. so.. idk i just have no hopes of ever seeing a full fallout 3 mod. hell im betting we see bethesda make a fallout 3 remastered before we see the mod come fully online if it is in the work for how little ive heard since idk over a year now maybe 2
Nope, never cancelled, I covered that in the Capital Wasteland video on my channel with an interview with the team. It was put on hold while they figured out Voice Actors and whatnot
It definitely says something when modders can often produce more stable results. I won't pretend I know much about the game dev process, but the new update having serious engine issues isn't a great sign
So its more the Far Harbour approach with the fog then. I do dislike the Naysaying with these projects. Of course they take time and they are difficult and these guys and girls could use peoples support instead of the opposite. Look at how far some of them have come like Fallout London and Skyblivion and what everyone else has done so far is incredible. We should be glad that people who share the same passion as we do for these games are not just thinking about it but actually making this content.
Precisely! Thank you for supporting that POV. A vocalized disbelief in these projects isn't helpful, and likelihood is these people work on the game for 2-3 hours a night if possible. Also yeah! That's sort of what it struck me as; Far Harbor with more fog effects and a far creepier atmosphere
