I think Nail's "BIG CAR BROTHER" might have been the Carhenge behemoth. It's close by to the campground you find his corpse in, and, well, it's a big car supermutant brother.

Yeah I came to comment that. Finding one of them in survival at this level is bad but I'm sure I went by there at low level and didn't see the Behemoth. Not sure when he spawns in.

Yup, if elder scrolls lets you get bitten to become a werewolf/vamp then fallout should let you get yourself captured, dipped in fev and become a supermutant.

Ya, all of these open world games have inverted difficulty curves. They're balanced at the start, but they don't expect everyone to do everything, so when you do you fly past the curve. By the time you're level 100 you're killing assaultrons with knives and tanking vehicle explosions.

Fallout 4 YOLO ran for over a year, and I suspect Jon will be editing out most of the stuff not directly tied to the mod, so its unlikely to set any new records... but it definitely won't be the "short series" he advertised it as, in episode 1.

I assume once fully built up it won't look any different, so you can cross off Sancturary after awhile and only look at those you are building up...like a production chain. But yes more looking at the sim itself. I wouldn't even mind him cutting out other shennigans really.

The first time you meet Carla at that intersection always spawns a random encounter. I've seen just about everything there, Gene and his dog, raiders, ghouls, super mutants and once or twice a skull level Mr. Gutsy. I usually go see her right after freeing Preston and company when I still have the power armor and minigun.

Since others have pointed out the ASAM boxes in Jake's store, I'll point out that the quests of the mod are very, very finicky if you try to get ahead of things. Jake's next quest, do. Not. Shoot. Things in the "goal room". A certain one will break, and you're hardlocked. In the one afterwards, in it's final "goal room" follow the pip boy/quest instructions to the letter. Otherwise, some flags will get messed up and you'll again be softlocked. I learned this from experience :D

Grabbing those boxes won't mess anything up, they're just free extra ASAM sensors and won't affect quest scripting in any way

another good source of early game caps is pre-war money. weight nothing, valued at 8 each and there's a duffel bag among prop skeletons in the Lexington bank with 100 guaranteed notes that respawns every time the cell resets.

Fallout 4's Survival Mode does feel pretty good I agree. It stops things being tanky as heck generally. And it feels well planned out. Unlike say Skyrim's Survival Mode where 2 hours after eating a massive breakfast I somehow feel so anemic that I can barely swing my sword.

Jon, there’s a bed in the projection room of the drive in, and a chair with ammo boxes set up on top of the screen as a watch tower, obviously the pervious inhabitant mined the road.

Also, Jon learning the danger of mines. They're emplaced and unmanned. They could've been left there ten years ago! The military could've mined the road for an ambush and forgot about them. The raiders could've set a trap and then off and got killed. No one has to pick up the mines and if the locals know where they are, it's safer just to avoid them. Mines are dangerous like that.

On Survival and with 6+ Charisma, I would've talked Trudy into giving the drug dealers their money. Not only would that give you 2 merchants, but it prevents raiders from spawning in that exact spot almost every time you approach the Diner.

I almost always beeline for Covenant. Not only is it good for survival mode stuff - bed, clean water, a doctor who can cure illnesses - but the attacked caravan has a guaranteed drop of a laser weapon and a combat rifle, even at level 1.

I've been really impressed by this mod, and I've really liked how it's handled these super mutants. Giving Hammer (a somewhat generic miniboss) a bigger role, showing them to be intelligent enough to form a small familial tribe open to working with and accepting humans yet retaining more of the brutish qualties you don't usually see in Bethesda's intelligent super mutants, and even the little brahmin skull on a crate that I'm pretty sure is a reference to Antler and Davison from Fallout NV. Really great stuff, and I'm excited to see more.

there are boxes with ASAM sensors they look a lot like the other cardboard boxes however they have text on the side of them. there are 20 in a box when you scrap them. the main problem that i have found with this is that they respawn pretty fast.

That's what I was thinking. People keep saying he asked for chalk because he's got a calcium deficiency, which I don't remember him mentioning. I thought he was using it more like antacids since regular food was making him feel sick.

Jon's Perception is notorious - even Legendary. But if he tries to build up Sanctuary, Red Rocket, and Abernathy - despite everyone in his comments AND the SS2 wiki warning against it - that will raise his perception to Mythical status. Fun fact: SS2 will build up Concord over time as well, putting a further strain on the cell where the three Settlements are located.

I always figured the mines near the Drive-In were some survivors post war holed up there. You find some signs that people tried to camp out and make a base of it there. And well, landmines don't care how long it's been since you set them really. There's still land mines in reality that are going off nearly a century after they were laid, sometimes with tragic consequences.

It's only if you eat it while not hungry so that's a waste of a Deathclaw Steak. Am I right on that or misremembering?

John, early on before you get to a certian mission . you can just buy a couple of them off traders. The ASAMS i mean. later on, you can build them.

I don't remember if you cleared out Jake's workshop or not, but there are several boxes of 10 ASAMs each lying around, and I even believe they respawn once the cell resets

Another easy way to get ASAMs is go to Jakes workshop in Concord. There are several box of ASAMs that contain a dozen or so sensors each, plus those boxes respawn several times over the course of the questline.
