Good work General. The settlers will be happy knowing they have a nice place to settle down. I have another settlement that requires help. I'll mark it on your map.
Thanks Preston, I’ll get right on that! Ah sorry I appear to have lost my map, oh can you see my Pip-Boy? Nah that’s broken… well gotta go, kidnapped child to find and all that… see ya! **runs**
I have my Castle walls 90% finished but was looking for some inspiration on how to fill up the courtyard and the entrance. This was just what I was looking for: Not too cluttered or too empty, perfectly balanced. Well done!
Many thanks! Must admit I was in the same situation after I had completed the walls and struggled for quite a while trying to fill the space. I was inspired by SarDeliacs awesome Castle Build (link in the video description if you have not checked out his builds) and wanted a similar look without completely ripping off his design. Jet Jaguar also has an amazing Castle build and is well worth checking out if you are looking for further sources of inspiration 😊
Hey Gamology just had a civil engineer react to your Castle tour on their channel! Nice to see you getting some recognition for your hard work, you've earned it man
@@cxfrv Yes, it should be. The link in the pinned comment and video description appears to still be working for me. I also uploaded an update yesterday to fix a bug with the power connection to the radio transmitter. 😁 Blueprint link: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/54020/
I came across this on Tik-tok after searching on google for castle builds, I'm incredibly satisfied how it turned out with the majority of the build inspired by you! This being the walls and infrastructure inside the walls. I was looking for more build ideas as of right now until I came across this video, and I'd just like to say, great work, and many thanks!
This is the best castle build I’ve seen (apart from my own which was built using bits from creation club add ons and I cannot step foot in without crashing the game). I like how you incorporated buildings into the repaired walls and the wooden vibe is very cool. It’s better than some of the other builds you see where they rebuild using stone/ concrete pieces as the walls. It also doesn’t look samey even though you are only using vanilla content.
This is certainly atmospheric, but in 200 years in reality real houses would have been built and not these sheds. And I'm not just talking about player settlements, some Diamond City shouldn't be a gathering place of junk
@@tyngaplay1921 you might think that people would even live in the hundreds of houses that are still standing as well. Apparently only raiders do that.
@@MEGAyognauts it turns out that raiders are smarter than many of the Wasteland's inhabitants. I just thought it would be interesting to see a city on the surface built from Vault blocks. The same ones we use to build Vault 88 from DLC. This is probably what Vault City from Fallout 2 would look like in 3D.
Been using your builds recently, and i just wanted to thank you for all of these amazing builds. Even though you dont get a lot of clicks, you‘re still doing a great job with these builds and tutorials. Please do not stop uploading videos and i hope that one day you will get a lot of subscribers and success!!
@@FiddleflapsVids thank youuu! and ooof I suck at building and normally watch videos as a guide but gonna give it a try! also, did you use any mods for this? bc I would be interested in doing something similar
@@nicolasreategui2726 There are no modded items / pieces used in the build, as I am intentionally limiting myself to items and objects from the base games and the official DLC’s. I do use the Place Everywhere mod to get around Fallout 4’s rather limiting object placement, and also use it to turn off object physics which stops your junk item decorations from being knocked over by clumsy settlers 😊
Yes, they are part of the Contraptions Workshop DLC. If you are enjoying the game the Season Pass is well worth picking up whenever it comes on sales next to get all the DLC, it has a lot of extra objects for building I could now not live without 😀. Along with that I feel Far Harbor has some of the best quests in the game, and Nuka World is a fun break and change of pace from the exploring the Commonwealth.
Great to hear you like the build! Before releasing the blueprint for this I did finish it up and add the castle interiors, just never got around to recording a video of it. There are a couple of screenshots of the interiors on the blueprints Nexus page if you are interested in seeing them: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/54020 The settlement was built using the Place Everywhere mod but only uses vanilla and DLC objects, and lll the decoration was hand placed and made static - to stop those clumsy settlers undoing my hard work 🤣
@@FiddleflapsVids I forgot about the place everywhere and static mods. I only play using the DLC and some CC purchases. My grown daughter just purchased FO4 for her computer. Now she enjoys the MODs
Still pleased with how it turned out, especially as I had not worked out how to use Place Everywhere fully at this point and was my first real attempt at trying to build a fully detailed settlement.
Do you mean the guard tower seen at 0:33? If so I totally 'borrowed' that from SarDeliac, you can see how its built in vanilla here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OhQTF6ZmYm0.html
Great to hear you liked the build! Unfortunately the mod I use to generate blueprints is not available for consoles, and was also before I starting making the build series for my settlements. Not currently planning to do build series for my older settlements as I like them to match up with what’s shown in the tours. It’s something I might get around to doing, but for the moment want to focus on new builds.
Are you using any graphics/visual mods, and or what are you're spec? All your settlements and videos look so crisp and hd I want to run my game looking like this. Awesome work btw just downloaded the Santuary blueprint
Great to hear you are enjoying the vids and blueprints! My PC has an i7 8700k with an RTX 2070 Super and I run the game at 1440P using a mix of High and Ultra settings. I also use ReShade to sharpen the image and make the game look a little less washed out. I have a mod list linked in the video description which also shows the ReShade settings I use.
Thanks! It’s been a while since I built this but seem to remember it filling either 3 or 4 full size bars. I use the weapon storage glitch to reset the build limit when needed, and it still works on both PC and consoles and no mods required 😁. You can see it in action here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PLg0cFpVUH0.html
Sorry, don’t currently have any plans to do building series for the older builds that don’t have them, and want to focus on locations for the moment. I do like the build vids to match up with whats shown in the finished tour and feel it would be a lot of work for something that people have already seen. I would like to revisit and rework some of my older builds (The Castle included) at some point, so would include build vids for them just not sure when that would be. 😔
Anything inside that walls? I like that you didnt rebuild the walls like i always do. Im inspired now. I still feel this is more of a village than a base of operations like Preston wanted. But it is beautiful and im glad to see im not the only one still playing fo4
Apart from a fusion core generator and some extra beds I have left inside the walls largely untouched, but always planned to go back at some point once I had more confidence working on interior spaces. I was going for a village / small town feel with this build as I felt people would naturally want to settle and setup homes and shops in such a well-protected spot. Awesome to hear that my build has provided some inspiration, be sure to share your build when done would love to see it 😊
Hello, man, does it work with we are Minutemen mod? It just doesn't installed after complete castle quest with radio, and I don't know what to do because my Minuteman playthrough is ruined by this😢
I have not tested that mod myself, but I can’t see any reason why the blueprint would not work with it. The Transfer Settlements mod used to import the blueprint simply adds settlement objects as if the player had placed them themselves. To the best of my knowledge, it does not touch any quest markers or effect any scripts that could cause the vanilla games quests to break.
I use an old glitch to reset the build limit, and seem to remember this building taking up around 3 full size bars. Simply drop some weapons on the ground within the settlement (Gamma Guns work great for this), enter build mode and then store them in the workbench. Each weapon stored will slightly reduce the build bar, and as you are storing the weapons you can retrieve them and repeat this process. This has thankfully never been patched and works on all platforms, and can be seen in action here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PLg0cFpVUH0.html
That’s good timing! I am in the process (right now!) of adding some detail to the interiors so I can upload a blueprint to Nexus 😁 Hopefully should be on there sometime tomorrow.
Sorry, currently have no plans to do building vids for this settlement. It was one of the first settlements I made so might re-visit it at some point as there's a few things I would probably do differently now, and so would then do a series for the updated build.
Sadly not, at the time of building I was not confident enough to tackle the interiors. Always planned to go back and finish it off once my building skills had improved.
Yes, unfortunately the Creation Engine is its various forms is well known for that… I use the Place Everywhere mod to make all my junk decoration static, keeps everything in place no matter how hard clumsy settlers or the odd rampaging Brahmin try 😉🤣
They sound like logical things to place if you are going for a military themed Castle build. For this I went with a village theme that had sprung up after the minutemen liberated the castle. To me at least it makes sense that people would want to settle in a well defended secure spot like this 😀
This along with a couple of my earlier builds unfortunately do not have a building series. At the time this was my first fully decorated settlement I ever completed, had doubts people would even want to watch the tour let alone see me putting it together 😅 If I complete my gaol of building at every settlement I plan to go back and re-do those early builds and include a building series for them 👍
You can reset the build limit when needed using the weapon storage glitch. Simply drop some weapons within the settlement (Gamma Guns work great for this), enter build mode and then store each of the dropped weapons. Each weapon stored will slightly reduce the size bar and as the weapons have been stored you can then collect them from the workbench and repeat as needed. It’s an old glitch that thankfully has never been patched and works on both console and PC with no mods required. You can see it in action here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PLg0cFpVUH0.html
Unfortunately the mod I use to make the blueprints is not available on consoles as it requires the Script Extender to work. I also don’t own any of the current consoles and would not be comfortable releasing something that I have not been able to check and test myself. Sorry 😔. No plans to do building series for my old builds that don’t have them as I want to focus on new builds. There are a couple of my older builds that I would like to revisit at some point as I feel I could do a better job on them now (this one included) and so would at that point do a full building series for them 👍.
