Fallout 4- The Legend of the General Atomics Galleria- A unique mall experience, badly programmed robots and the champ. This and more in this episode of Fallout 4- Legends of
General Atomics Galleria:
This was a pre-war shopping district controlled by a Mr Gutsy called the Director and a group of Mister Handy's. The idea was that it would be completely autonomous, no need for human intervention at all. However something happened and they went rogue, killing everyone in the galleria. The terminals around the various shops and building allude to poor programming and rules being the cause, the various rules programmed not being able to stand up to real world situations. This was all pointed out by Isaac, surely a nod to Isaac Asimov and his 3 laws of robotics. In the end, the only human inhabitant was tasked with initiating the grand re-opening. However they were killed, and the task fell to another General Atomics employee, Kincaid. I think he was killed as well, and it falls to us to initiate the grand re-opening

Lol...They never attacked me. Not even after I killed the "Director." Why? Because I had the good sense to lie to the Greeter at the gate, telling him that I was the new Supervisor. So, I essentially had free reign over the whole place. Always remember the rule from Ghostbusters. If someone asks if you're a god, you always say "Yes."

Wait a second, you mean to tell me there is a peaceful solution to the Director? I killed all the robots thinking that i was doing the right thing and thinking there was no other way. i had a hell of a lot of fun doing it i took my time with it but regardless, there really is a peacful solution? These leads to more questions, what happens if you meet the director first and you tell hi whats up, and then the speak check passes and then you go back down into Slocum Joes Cafe, will the Robot in the Cafe still try to kill you with 3rd degree coffee burns? what about the ones in the Gym and all the rest of the places? will they all start acting better or even different in any capacity? please tell me spoilers are appreciated, i need answers to this, im going to have to plan a expedition to the General Atomics Galleria (G.A.G.) and get to the bottom of this im now very curious.

If you haven't already figured it out, the Mr. Handy in the cafe just says to get help yourself to the coffee, The Champ just dies, the Mr. Gutsy operates normally instead of exploding, you can wander around the bowling alley freely, and all the robots are generally passive.

Acheya Wachtel i did figure it out eventually, i realized that the comedic actions of the robots can be prevented by visiting the Director first, i now feel very sad about some of my earlier play-through where i kept murdering the robots and saying to my self repeatedly "i did not have a choice, there was no other way" , i feel very ashamed that i came o the wrong conclusion each time before i discovered this video. well it is just a game after all, i guess subconsciously i wanted to murder all the malfunctioning robots just for the heck of it. but now i know its wrong.

+dylanlp1999 Yes really. Just like the NPCs, the most locations are bland and boring. Like the vaults, fallout 4's vaults are probably the most boring of the series, and there's only like 4 vaults; and one of them is practically the same as another vault in the series.

I just realized, with Pre-War inflation, that grand prize sucked. I doubt it'd buy anything, unless things in the Galleria were intentionally marked down, or at the very least you could buy food. In reference to the donuts, with how heavy in preservatives everything was, I have no doubt they did go bad only a few weeks prior to your arrival.

I think the reason this place was being sued was because the Mr. Gutsy's were too sensitive. They overreact to everything our player does, and attack for the most minor of infractions. All the corpses on the floor could've been the result of the nuclear blast, or the Mr. Gutsies gutting the customers for not following their explicit directions.

+Thenthapple - Bean attacks you after blowing the place up because it sometimes damages/destroys his combat inhibitor causing him to go haywire. No pun intended. He attacked me the first time I checked the place out as well and Bean is by far my favorite.

In the General Atomics factory, on a desk in an office on the second floor underneath a battered clipboard. From the entrance, go up the staircase and the office is the first door on the right. fallout.wikia.com/wiki/General_Atomics_ID_card

if u look inside 1 of the ball returns u will see a skeleton hand I believe it's a easter Egg to kingpins were the lead had his hand ripped off after it was forced inside after winning the championship at the beginning of the movie

The interesting thing is that this is the same company that powers the Vaults. The Citadel computer in Fallout 3 shows that they are all powered by General Atomics Nuclear Power as a primary power source.

It's odd how when I visited this place, it was completely different from what you have. For example, There were no skeletons in the diner. They allowed me to enter the bowling alley. Heck, the waiter actually served me real food. I'm not sure if it's because they mistaken me for the supervisor, or I'm just lucky.

I noticed something interesting. At 20:40 the terminal said that (0) stores were reporting errors. I'm not sure if it was because of the re-grand opening, a mistake, or Bean the pyro-maniac was lying about sending that report. Shifty Bean is shifty, especially with the fact that the doughnuts went stale a 'few weeks' ago....

Paying the Handy receptionist by the entrance hallway of the bowling alley some pre-war money (not much, just a few grands) or convince it to let you in to look around, all the handies will remain friendly. You can then go up stairs in the bowling alley to where the pool tables are and find a Handy there serving the bar. All of the handies will function (more or less) "correctly" -- i.e. should-be vendors would become vendors and won't kill you unless you steal stuffs -- once you initiated the grand reopening. Bean won't make you a 2-HUNDRED-HUNDRED-HUNDRED F coffee and states the place is now a self-serving location. There's also a bakery at the back.

Really liked this one! What I found interesting was that all the bodies were still there. Nobody could make it back in to extract them prior to bombs.

Its weird I past a charisma check at the front gate and I never had any trouble. Or was it with DMS, maybe it was both, but either way the Mr. Handys acted well normal albeit with some of their memory missing. Also none of the Boxing or Demonstration Mr.Handy's attacked me they were already broken. A glitch maybe?

The only thing that bugs me is that Coffee handy, that gas leak should have been triggered by his hovering engine. I mean really, look at it, how did that not set it off? lol.

I encountered this place my first time playing Fallout 4, I didn't explore the other buildings. I just went in the Giant Mister Handy. Installed the Firmware Update and the robots seemed to be in working order. Kinda glad this video was made to show what would happen if you didn't do what I did.

Each pre-war money is a large stack of bills not just one dollar each, though rampant inflation was a problem in pre nuclear war America so maybe a huge stack of bills is not that much.

You can get the ID card and a little snippet of information from the robot factory near the Castle. The new supervisor was given the job as a kind of retirement, and he was unhappy.

Quality robotics! What sort of processing system would they have that could interpret things so literally? Actually, who in the fuck didn't understand about how programming works in the first place? Like christ, you need to give explicit instructions, not slogan lines.

metals exposed to neutron flux for extended periods of time become brittle and begin to degrade... as well as becoming radioactive if exposed to high enough rad levels. Not only would ionizing radiation interfere with their electronic circuits, but those circuits would also begin to degrade over time. This could explain the patrons who appear to be properly fed (prior to bomb or circuit degradation) and the Handys' current homicidal tendencies.

I shut everyone of them robots down with robotics expert 3. I'm gonna scrap them for automation dlc. xD then I went up and talked to the director to initiate the update and then powered him off. XD I'm a robots worst nightmare. I got a legendary colonel gutsy and a legendary assaultron dominator at coup manner. also have two sentry bots. one at Wattz consumer electronics (I think that's where. might be hardware town, I'll look it up and this one is a legandary) and one by Shaw highschool where I hacked it and parked it near the prydwin. I'm prepared for my DLC. like hardcore. I really really want to play it.

the bowling hall needed prewar money to visit just pay the mr. handy that is mostly behind the bar a huge amount of pre war money ... i did my run without killing a single robot ... and after you restart the directives they wont show as much errors (the clothing shopkeeper sells you stuff...)

I'm just glad i didn't have to fight the giant Mr. Handy. I had the option to say i was the district manager. My brother screwed up big time. I never got to fight the champ he was already dead when I got here. also the robots the seller bot was trying to show me were already shut done.

I went to the director first and none of the handys became hostile and i took what i wanted from the stores, none of them ever attacked me.

I'm pretty sure the doughnuts going stale only a few weeks ago is a reference to the fact that ALL the food in the franchise can be eaten with no bad effects even they would have gone stale a couple hundred years ago. It's just saying "in the Fallout universe, food takes hundreds of years to go stale!"

if you speak to the director right away and do the whole system reset thing, all robots return to working order and become non hostile. can even barter with them, despite their.. measly stock.

I spoke to the Handy at the gate. Then spoke with the manager next. After a remedial quest, all the Handies were peaceful after that. They never attacked me.

I got the impression that corporate was trying to cover its ass when it told the first supervisor that his interacting with the handy's was what was causing the problems, because if the guy who was supposedly trained to interact with them was causing instabilities in the system, the what were all the customer interactions doing? The warnings about bad programming were from February 2077, which I am guessing was before the galleria opened. The Incident happened in July, corporate covered it up, spent months trying to fix the problems, and had Kincaid start up the Grand Re-Opening just as the bombs fell on October 23. So either the Director killed him or he died in the bomb blast before he could start the Grand Re-Opening protocols.
