not directly, they want to ensure the longevity of their game while making a few bucks. They know the fallout modding community will eventually fix mods.
Not specifically, the update does have some benefits. The problem for Fallout London is the timing .. it was just two days before the release of the mod.
the FIRST "release" window for FOLon was Q4 2023. And "next-gen" was supposed to hit "in 2023". Now - there are Halloween decors in the update (would make sense if they released it in Q4 2023). My guess why? BGS FROM THE VERY START wanted to thwart the FOLon launch. But the team has moved the release due to "talent poaching" done by... BGS. FOLOn announces new date... BGS thwart it. Out of envy and spite IMHO. My guess is - the same will be done with Skyblivion which is due in 2025.
I'm not aware of the history of the timings, but I'd be really sad if jealousy was involved in the timings. That's the last thing Bethesda should be doing, if anything they should be working as hard as possible to make mods as successful as possible.
Yeah, unfortunately they said they won't be releasing a version for the current FO4. That's understandable, plenty of people wouldn't know how to stop the update and they'd blame the mod for any issues that happened. I'd also like it if they released the current version of the mod but I can see why they made their decision.
the problem wasnt f4se devs but everybody else. It'll take muuuch longer for other mods to update so a lot of people are still in the older version. I am not planning to switch for 6 more months minimum. There are still new mods coming out to nexus that is exclusively for the older version
