Fallout Mobile - A Java-based mobile phone game from 2009.
Using assets from Fallout 1, 2 and 3, it is the first Fallout game on a portable platform, way before Fallout Shelter. So how come you’ve probably never heard of it then?
Is Todd trying to hide the last bastion of classic Fallout from us? A game that closer evokes the original 90s titles many fell in love with. And why is there barely any information about this game anywhere online? It’s time to change that.

Overdosed on nostalgia between the throwback to TES Travels on my old Samsung flip phone and Spyro. I think you might be right about the English translation being by way of Russian from the original Spanish - a few things survived double machine translation and actually make sense, then the rest of it is just... hilarious. Anyway, great stuff as always. If something happens to you, we'll know it was the ZeniMax legal team that ordered the hit. I heard that their hitmen are sourced from a mysterious organisation known only as the Chess Club, and if Todd is there to see you die, he whispers in your ear, 'Fallout 3 was going to have 200 endings... You'll only have one.'

I also want to try to start a thread that finds out what the non-fallout artwork is from since i recognized most of them. I'm guessing the people involved were huge fans of Resident Evil since a lot of them are from there. I think it'd be fun so to get the ball rolling, here are the ones i could identify in no particular order: The master: Is the reborn leech version of James Marcus from Resident Evil 0 Carol: Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak Carl: Jim Chapman from Resident Evil Outbreak. I could be mistaken but I think Barry Connel's a contractable merc from Jagged Alliance 2 or one of its expansions. The art style is very similar to their portraits. And, I think Randy K might be from one of those F1/F2 mods that add in new talking heads

14:25 Funny thing is the weapon could be both ``male or female´´ by how you call it in spanish. Male if gun (el arma), female if pistol (la pistola). Also it really feels like a spaniard translated all of the text since a lot of mistakes are by translating *literally* from how you would say it in spanish and they just look it up on a translator and pick the first word there, instead of the right one (like with ``queue of lizard´´ which in spanish is ``cola de lagarto* and they translate ``cola´´ [tail] like ``cola´´ from waiting in a queue).

Yep, it was ported around 2006 I think. It ran on all modern Windows environments (up to Vista, not sure if 7 and 10 were ever added later on), so it worked on Windows mobile and tablets.

As far as the "Balls to steal Bethesda's material," there are two things I can see about that. 1. Spain has, or at the very least was, a harbor for avoiding patent claims. Its how spanish gunmakers fed nearly the entirety of WWI France with pistols that were knockoffs of popular Browning/FN models. And this was pre-Franco so they were far more internationally involved at that point. Whether or not they have legally changed I dont know. But I would imagine culturally they get used to having a relaxed attitude about stuff like that after a while. 2. Also, it was a university project and not meant for sale, so all of the items were covered under fair use technically. Unless my definition of fair use is flawed which it may be.

Theres also a 3 different versions Bioshock Mobile. A 2d version made for java, a 3d version made for simbian and the mobile port made for iphone. The simbian version is almost impossible to find

As someone who speaks Russian, the moment you had a hunch about this game having been translated from Russian to English, it made total sense. It just sounds like smth tralnslated by some Russian boys who barely knew any English. For instance, gun is male in Russian, and some of the other syntax mistakes are giving them away. My favourite one has to be the “unhappy” ones, which meant to be “unfortunate” ones, I can just see how they translated it literally. Anyway, if it was translated from Russian (and I can assure you, it was , at least those parts where the text barely makes any sense) by revealing smth abt this game, it makes its backstory even more interesting and mysterious. I’d say it deserves more thorough research, and I believe that the fallout community would have also really appreciated one, and if you ever set out on that mission, I’d be more than happy to help with the lost Russian trace of this story

Personally think. that making fun of translation here is fine, like, in 2009 internet...existed, sure, but there were not enough resources to get better at languages. For example, in my mid-teens with my school level of knowledge in English, I did translate a couple of songs. It was a lot better, than a lot of games, that at best got machine translation with later human editing. So, if you came around one of my old translations and laughed, I would laugh with you, even though it was the best I could do back then

And 'bout the theory that game was translated from russian, It's easily plausible, since how and then content is easily accessible in that language. I think, cause the pirate community is strong, the translator took that version. Probably they were russian and may be even did some more games that were sold on the market pretending to be legit

Addendum after watching the full video a day later: This is pretty low quality too (expected for a devs first game that’s been machine-translated) but I stand by my statement about Shelter being bad, it’s just for entirely, completely different reasons. (Namely monetization)

Yeah, the playthrough section is machine transcribed. I did go through and check most of it, but some poor transcriptions must've gotten through. The intro up to 8 minutes, and the conclusion after the playthrough should be on point though, as it is my copy pasted script haha.

I wish People was smarter about Fallout 3s food thing. I do think farms should've been in there but people forget Fallout 3 re used a lot of Oblivion's clutters like burnt books and the likes. Oblivion had a farm but no you guys always use Fallout 2 and New Vegas as ammunition and it ticks me off. Use Oblivion!!! Okay I feel better now.
