Sorry for posting this a little later. I fell asleep waiting for the other one. Need to get some sleep before work.
This second part shows a glitch at the start. If you meet Ranger Andy before bringing Raul to him, Raul will not do his little bit of the story and you will never get his upgrade.
On PC you can get around this by resetting Ranger Andy with the console command I put in.
~ set "000E61A5".MetRangerAndy to 1

The last conversation choices decide Raul's upgrade. the normal one which I chose gives him his Vaquero outfit and 33% attack speed increase with Revolvers & Lever Actions. The other option from the speech test will give him an Armored Petro-Chico jump suit with 75% weapon degradation reduction while Raul is your companion.

If you finish the game making Raul a Vanquero the voice actor says this "Invigorated by his travels with the Courier, Raul once more took up his guns in memory of his lost Rafaela. Soon after, the Mojave was filled with tales of the ghost-vaquero who hunts down those who prey on the weak"

I can't speak to ranger Andy, I don't know why but every-time I interact with him it just zooms into his head and back out instantly.

Last patch broke the quest even more, I did exactly whats shown in the video, but now the last conversation ends when raul says "I realize Ive allways had my doubts" and you cant ask about the doubts anymore...

@varium Tilde key to open command console, thats the "~" next to 1 and above tab, its almost always in the same area no matter the country keyboard. Then type: set "000E61A5".MetRangerAndy to 1

@bardock310 Yea Boone just follows you because he is bored and just wants to shoot. But raul is friendly and actualy iS your friend and not selfish. And He has amusing stories also. lol

i used the pc glitch fix althouth this was after i had already met ranger andy and wnet through the dialogue with raul about andy. When i typed in the glitch fix nothing occured. Do I have to rewind my saves back to before I did that?

@molockian Yeah its the companions default armor so you can't trade/loot it off him. If you are on pc you can find a mod to add it to the game at newvegasnexus.

@Kibelle yeah, but i read on Wiki too, the choices you make when speaking to him after each old guy has absolutely no effect on him later on when he choose to go back to repairing or continue being a gunslinger... but is it the same point-system that they used with Boone and Arcade Gannon?

That glitch at the start didn't happen and I talked to Andy before bringing Raul to him. I'm also playing on xbox 360 so I can't use console commands but there was no need. I still got the dialogue for Raul after leaving Andy's house.

I also chose to use the speech 66 choice and it gave Raul and armored version of his repair jumpsuit. I like it better that the alternative, if you ask me.

i aquired Raul as companion, had him with me everywhere, and i talked to all three people, but after talking to Loyal at Nellis, i couldn't get the qonversation to give him full maintainance, do i need 66 speech BEFORE talking to Loyal? or is it just a stupid glitch? please respond fast!

@Taud Don't worry about it, I have the same issue to but it won't show up in the pipboy when you help Raul and I'm playing on Xbox 360. It probably is an unmarked quest but lets just hope the devs fix this in a patch if it is an actual quest.

if you finished the boomer quest line just look inside the plane hanger with the bomber and look on top of the scaffolding. you can't climb on top but you can still jump and talk to him

@superphil92 Well said! Raul owns, and he's had a hard life so I feel for him. Made me sad when I heard his little sister got murdered I was hoping that she was a ghoul and I had to find her :(

@TarikGloaming Fallout wiki.com To access the console, use the backquote key (`) while in-game (Unpaused). The backquote key shifts to tilde (~) on US keyboards, and the not symbol (¬) on UK keyboards. Other keyboards will differ, but the key is usually to the left of 1, and just under the Escape key (Esc) If your UI disappears then it is on. On some resolutions you cant see the input line.

Would be interesting, definitely more dangerous than the USA sections we have seen so far. I would not want to be in a area that is run by the remnants of all the Cartels. I'm sure they would survive and thrive in the Fallout universe and continue to battle each other. Other factions I would expect to see would be Federales, Minutemen/Border Patrol and it Would be cool to see some survivors or raiders turn to Aztec & Myan traditions. Way more threatening than Caesar's Legion.

@jokkepokke95 dude, same thing happened to me. ive met all three with raul and i even hear him tell the final part of his story but the convo ends right when he says that he "had his doubts" i cant ask him doubts about what it just ends. WTF?!

@MeMoshRocks so it isnt just me??? i did all three dialogs but nothing happened and i look at the vids and wonders how the final conversation triggers... i can retalk to him and hear his past again as 3 different conversations but nothing works :( any luck with you?

@Vi0lentlySilent1 he reacts to certian stuff youi do in the game. When I was playing I convinced a guy to slaap with my character in order to get him to do something for me. Raul was in the room when it happened & when I went to talk to him, that was exactly what he did. ^^

Raul's companion quest in summary: He's an old badass who had loads of bad shit happen to him so he thinks he can't be badass anymore. So he follows a young badass around and talks to a bunch of old badass people, then he convinces himself that he can still be badass. That's the jist of it, right?

Omg Raul...Best guy. Boone is good, But raul is more than just a shooter. Feels more like someone is with you as apose to just a good shooter. Thats why i gave him the Enclaved remnant armor rather than me wearing it :)

@MeMoshRocks yea i researched it, i couldn't find it on the wikia page but on talk, someone says if you answer neutral more than once of the 3 conversations, then he doesn't change...which makes sense; it isn't a glitch just a design flaw(well at least in my opinion since you can convince him to become a gunner again if he wants to become a mechanic but not if he doesn't make up his mind)

I looks like in this video, if he goes back to his gunslinging, he'll do it for good. But according the Fallout Wiki, his ending with the gunslinging has him preying on the weak. Is this true? If you have him gunsling instead of focusing on repairs he will have a ''bad guy'' ending?

If u success with the speech Raul would get different armor and a perk that let your armor and weapon condition decays 75% slower

"hunts down those who prey on the weak" He (Raul) doesn't prey on the weak but instead he hunts those who do, not really a "bad guy" ending but I see how you could have gotten it wrong.

@TheCrazierBW Yeah I figured it out a few days after making that comment, at the end of the last story, 3 optios are given to say to Raul, one about being still dangerous, one neutral and one about being usefull at old age, if you pick the neutral you end up with an unchanged Raul so you need to chose one of the other two, the dagerous one makes Raul a pistolero again and the usefull at old age one makes him a repair man.

Noro Heyyy i had the same fking problem. To write quotations in the command dont use the top numbers, you have to use the two dots between L or Ñ(if you have latin keyboard) and Enter or "C with tail" key

@jokkepokke95 It happens to me too, but I don't think it's a glitch. Basically, each dialogue counts up as a point towards each perk. One for encouraging him to be a vigilante, one for convincing him to accept how old he really is and one is neutral. If you choose too many neutral choices, or give him conflicted opinions (like encourage him the first time, then discourage him the second time etc.), then you won't be able to continue this side mission because you have let Raul down.

Chris Bales Yeah I had a weird glitch where it told me Boone "returned home": when I picked up another follower. The reason I know he didn't go anywhere is cause he was laying in the desert some where with no head. -.-

@varium @varium It depends on your keyboard and your keyboard settings in Windows. I have scandinavian keybaord and " is typed ingame with pressing Shift + Ä. Note that the game switches your keyboard setting to English/Us during the game. These things are just effin hard sometimes.
