As far as the Lucky Rabbit's Foot, for me, I think this would've been something used with the Wild Wasteland Perk. A random encounter that explains the item's presence in the game. Also, since it's wild wasteland, maybe throwing it at a target would cause a target to do something like the following: in combat a target hit would miss or stumble and out of combat cause the target to go berzerk or suffer -10 luck for a while. There would be some incentive to throw it instead of hoarding it in your inventory for the +10% XP gain (which is OP.)
Don't know if you're aware of this one already, but here's a fun fact for you: If you talk to Erickson in Far Harbor while Dogmeat is with you, Erickson will compliment him and give you a bandana for him to wear.
The securitron saying “true to caesar” makes me laugh because it implies that caesar has a bunch of science nerds waiting in the wings to reprogram the securitrons
It's messed up because I have almost every page on the wiki memorized. I obsessed with FNV for years, learning about all the cut content and hidden weapons and one-time events or hard things to find because of how it was coded. This game is an enigma.
12:10 I think the way this “ladder” works is that it’s just a really high angled stair piece from one of the workshop DLCs, so you can technically climb it because of the ways stairs work
19:04 While the Food Additive is good to get, you all should be warned that without some kind of "Drop All Quest Items" quest flag remover mod going, this will stay in your inventory like the Ink that you use to craft a fake Declaration Of Independence from Fallout 3. Guess they didn't think people'd go for this item and bother to put whatever command is necessary to remove the quest flag...oy.
Okay, I just checked out mantis on Spotify thinking it would be a big ol' meme version of all songs but I was dead wrong. They have no right being as good as they are. you've got a voice my guy ❤️
Oh Christ I wish I had known about the item rotating in FO4 before I spent hours trying to get a bunch of bottles upright on a shelf in my shack... (16:50)
In case no one said already the rabbit's foot is a doom reference. After the demons killed daisy doomguy kept it as a lucky charm before his assault on hell
My guess as to the reason that ladder in the mechanist dlc works is becuase the devs tooks the maximum height the player can step up without needing to jump and made a stack of cubes that exact height with each box being slightly off set backwards, which makes me think if we're going to look for other working ladders, they need to be up against a wall at a slight angle and a part of the world's geometry rather than something with physics and such.
With the aqua pura, there’s a known glitch that even if you don’t spike it with FEV, it will still kill you or the thirsty beggars at Megaton and Rivet City
9:05 Another clue that the Sole Survivor is a Synth. Nick clearly says that "it's a special frequency, so you won't hear it" and then we clearly hear it.
I find it very heartening that there's so many people who enjoy Fallout as much as I do. These videos are really good, thanks to you and the community for making them happen. 👍
46:30 My favorite thing about this entire part of the mission is that because of the Pip-Boy glove your fingers are exposed to outer space and should have consequences for that being the case, but doesn’t.
Hey mantis, I've been replaying fallout 4 recently and a couple weeks ago as I was wandering Nuka world I found myself in the arcade, and I'm nearly certain I saw the lucky rabbits foot (29:49) as a reward for tickets. I unfortunately didn't purchase it but hopefully this helps. Keep up the good content
Aw yea boi. Just what I've been needing Edit: That Ad was fantastic. Love it when people take the time to make an Ad interesting or funnny to watch. Big Props.
The climbable ladder isn't a unique game feature, if you look closely, the top of the sides of the ladder are slanted, and the steps in the ladder are also slanted, at about 40-ish degrees from completely horizontal. So this "ladder" is literally just one of the scaffolding stairs but placed more upright to simulate one of those library style ladders with wheels. And since the scaffolding stairs have pathing for you, the game doesn't mind that the stairs are at that weird angle and lets you climb up them.
hi mr mantis ...i wanted to thank you for your awesome fallout facts videos.my niece and i have made a daily fallout fact between us .she doesnt really play the games.but she knows how much i love the games.and she gets a kick out the interesting facts.so i text her on her phone with a fact a day .and i was thinking of having a daily double fact .so yeah keep them coming ...Thank you
Fun Fallout 4 fact: the Sole Survivor is definitely a synth. How can I prove that? At the start, when the Sole Survivor and their family are entering Vault 111, they see the nuclear blast. It's debatable whether or not you'd survive being that close to the blast, but what isn't debatable is that the Sole Survivor sees and hears the blast at the same time. Light and sound travel at different speeds; you would see the mushroom cloud before you heard the explosion. Therefore the memory is fake, it's been implanted in the Sole Survivor's head, therefore they're a synth. Also you can use VATS in the vault before you find the PipBoy.
Also heres a fun fact . With no mods installed you can crash the game by tryying to exit a building with your pimp boy light on ! The more you know Please assume the position
At least on fallout 1 you can hit unlimited time just after you end conversation with the overseer denying you access to the vault. Enter combat run till the combat screen dissappears and reopen combat till your out of the cave.
At the rate you put out shorts we could get another compilation at least every other month and I appreciate you for that. In a few years take all your shorts and organize them by game entry and make it a playlist, I'm pretty sure it would functionality serve as a definitive encyclopedia lol
hopefully someone sees this lol but in the strip if you walk up to Billy Knight and dont talk to him he has around 15+ unique jokes, that also drop some subtle hints to things happening in the Strip!
Not sure if this counts as a detail, but after playing through 3's Mothership Zeta DLC, I came across an area I had never been in before, being the cargo hold. In this area there's many items that you would find down in the wasteland, even some useful supplies to pick up. In this area, there are even a few things that will get some lines out of the companions, unique ones for whoever you bring with you. But even further in this area there's a research lab, housing more things the aliens are studying. These unfortunately don't bring up any dialogue from anyone you bring, but it's when you keep going that it's made up for. I'd mention what comes but I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for anyone :)
Theory of the Bar Harbor Main thing. Maybe before the war that dock was referred to as Bar Harbor main while the town around the dock was itself called Bar Harbor. Kinda like a Canterbury Commons type situation
There needs to be a wearable Abe Lincoln out fit in Fallout 3 and if you wear it with the samurai sword you get the achievement "that's a fine Wayne Gretzky"
That ladder thing seems like a simple oversight. Like they placed the ladder slightly off by accident, allowing you to climb over it like a pile of junk.
Hey Mantis, Not sure if you have already, but you should check out the Hallucigen building in Fallout 4. Some of the stuff inside said building. 3 unique items that only spawn there Custom voice lines from Gunners A minigame of sorts And overall some unique environment you cannot really find elsewhere in the game. So yeah you could make either 1 bigger video about it or cut it down to multiples. Assuming you haven't made a video about it.
Action Abe might be based on a true story where Abe dueled a politician with a sword. ATHF is a cool reference, but I think the truth in this matter is even cooler. Just search "Abraham Lincoln's Duel".
Another fun thing I love about Goodsprings, if you a high enough medicine or speech stat and talk to Doc Mitchell BEFORE LEAVING HIS HOUSE, you can ask for some free extra medical supplies
I would think it pretty clear that if it was to come in with nuka world that the lucky rabbits foot wouldve been something you find in the animals' territory maybe as a reward for granting them favour
Fun fact: I hit the Fallout 2 END SCREEN once on a road trip to another state with my then-girlfriend when I was, uh, in high school? We were not playing the game in the back seat. We were just using it as a distraction.
44:00 or just think about reality. The east has insane amounts of water whereas the west has always struggled to have water. 200 years later, the west could be dried up without human intervention and the east would most likely still have tons of ground water, and just water in general
I had a glitch with the pimp boy last time i got it. It would be angled from top left to bottom right. It was still usable but annoying to have a crooked menu so I used the default pip boy instead
No joke, right after the segment about giving Carlos the tainted Aqua Pura, I got an ad from some company called Blinkist about the dangers of giving things away for free... I am SUFFICIENTLY freaked out now.
