@@friendlyatheist9589 | I think ghouls have the ability to hibernate since a lot of the ghouls you seem to find are sleeping. I'm not sure how far into the ghoulification process you gain the ability, but if it's early on, that could be a good reason as to why he didn't go completely insane from the closed space isolation of the fridge.

I’m a HUGE Fallout fan and I have faith in this because of Jonathan Nolan. He’s a great writer and director and it definitely looks like there’s a lot of love for the universe based on the trailer!

The best part about fallout is that they don't have to hit the story notes, keep the characters right. Just keep the vibe in, the creativity, and the setting right. They've done a bang up job with the setting, the way everyone looks, the tone is perfect

Funny enough Fallout is kind of known for its plot but not for the plot itself but more so how YOU can shape that plot, so the tv show does have less of a burden because its according to how the director/player/dev interprets it, but thats also a double edge sword because whatever game comes out after the show will have to follow whatver lore the show put down. Idk im just hoping its not like halo

I think it'd be genius specifically for the Fallout show to have 2 different endings where the vault dweller sides with the other faction (if they left the show's story be open enough to be able to do that lmao)

@@joebond545 Actually, Deathclaws are mutated, lizard like creatures, called that because of how dangerous they are. Though I don't know where you got the idea of "clans" from... Fallout doesn't work that way. Sure there are factions like the Brotherhood, the Enclave, the New California Republic, but no "clans" unless you count Raiders.

What's great about this is that the story can be anything. The Fallout show isn't tied to any specific story in the games. As long as they follow the lore and make it FEEL like Fallout, I'm all in. However, I did notice they didn't have any New California Republic flags/symbols in the trailer (The show is based in LA). I wonder if they will be included in the show? It would be cool to see the Rangers and the Brotherhood going against each other at some point.

I think I saw one in a screenshot, but it was in a vault so I don't know if they had the 2 headed bear one or the traditional one (it was dangling and folding so I couldn't see much).

I had my doubts when I first heard about it but... man... this looks *so good*. I love that the humor is there but I also hope that they have those small moments of horror too. There are some genuinely scary moments in those games (and even some hints at Eldritch horror). But... regardless... I'm really looking forward to seeing this!

Dishonored was made by Arkane studio- it was just published by Bethesda. Bethesda softworks is the game dev branch, that´s behind Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Starfield etc..

Slight correction: Bethesda Game Studios is the game dev branch. Bethesda Softworks is the publisher. It was also the dev, but in 2001 it created BGS and separated the roles.

I'm a huge fallout fan. My watch is a PIP Boy. I CANNOT WAIT for this show. The trailer looks absolutely perfect in every way. From Power Armor to the dog... that was Fallout. Even the old fifties song playing screamed Fallout. It's going to be awesome. BTW... Fallout 3 is ironically known as having the shortest story of any Fallout game ever (Could be completed very quickly with just following the main story. Great Game).

The drama was for 76 lol new vegas is arguably the best fallout in thw franchise and the community can definitely agree. 4 has some drama to it too because its the one that changed fallouts gameplay to much but it still stays true to the game as much as it can..76 is definitely iffy though i personally have a love hate relationship with it

"The vibe" is a trademark of the Fallout games from the Game 1. Before Bethesda bought it and managed to bring it to 3D. 50s esthetics+nuclear apocalypse+tons of dark humour. Anyway the vibe is there in the trailer so lets hope the shows going to be good.

I have over 2000 hours in Fallout 4 and have played all the previous ones on PC so I hope they do it right. There is so much Lore to draw on. So far the teasers look impressive.When you say you haven't yet beaten a Fallout game it makes me a little sad because when you do beat it you replay it again to beat it a different way and using different factions to get a different ending.

Most of the horrific story and world of Fallout happens in the vaults. Each one contains it's own nightmare, so if you don't explore them you only get a small tates of how epic the story of the world is.

3:32 100% agree with you, Jaby. The Last of Us show handled that story well, but if you already played the games before and know the story, the show does feel like a chopped up version of it, albeit with a few slight narrative changes. But with Fallout... I don't know if this actually follows any of the stories from the games or not, but it doesn't have to either, and I think it would be best if it didn't. Fallout is a massive sandbox rich with lore. Creating a new story within that world with a nod here and there for people who played the games is the best way to go in my opinion. A lot of room to play. Then if people who haven't played the games liked the show enough, maybe they'll want to check out the games and experience those stories. Also Jaby, take whatever time you can get and play some New Vegas if 3 is really the only one you've played. You're missin out. Great opportunity for some live streaming with Achara.

From what I know, this takes place the latest in the timeline, also I don't think LA (which is where this takes place) is in any of the other games (I think in the first two you could explore most of California but only specific locations were filled with content) so they don't have to rely much on previous entries and can mostly make new stuff.

I can't speak for any of the games before 3 because I never played them, but as far as I know there are canon events in LA that are mentioned in one of the previous Fallouts, but I just read on ScreenRant that the show is set 138 years after the latest game. So they can pretty much do whatever they want, I guess. So naturally, it's gonna piss off a lot of die hard Fallout fans that aren't as open minded.

@@GoldenLeafsMovies In the first game you literally go to LA but its named the boneyard. You go to the first vault that was created (prototype) and fight the master (final boss of the game) and the original creator of the smart supermutants.

All the games since they take place in different times and places after the nuclear war have pretty self contained stories, a couple examples being fo3- a story of a son looking for his missing father, fo4- a story about a parent searching for thier kidnapped child, so this being a vault(33) we havent seen in the games and it also being california let's it be it's own thing, now this might be an issue for other franchises but since this ip is basically a look at an isolated area after the war and following a vault dweller leave thier vault and explore the world, them doing a new vault and different spot of the country is par for the course in how they tell thier stories...

The difference between this and TLOU is that the latter was closely following the story of the game. This looks to be an original story in the Fallout world. It's plot vs. lore.

Theres definitely a dark comedy aspect in the fallout games - that comes from naive and innocent, rule driven vault dwellers interacting with and meeting absolute maniac murderers and wasteland survivors in a nightmare apocalypse world with no rules or laws.

The Last of Us being a brief summary of the OG is like how One Piece Live Action was a brief summary of the OG. I think inherently, adaptations just fall into that cliff notes version of the original and it's kind of inevitable. Fallout having potential to be better is so possible, because there isn't any one character that you follow, or major plot line that you have adhere to. Any nod, or cameos from things you interact with and plots you interact with as a player will translate very well as a viewer since there isn't anything set in stone.

There are A LOT of real story arcs in the various Fallout games. Several of them require you to meet them and talk to them first, though. The awesome thing about Fallout is that they don't have to follow a specific story. Fallout....was supposed to have happened across the country. And there are Vaults all across the country. So the ability to just create a new story is right there in front of them on a silver platter....and I'm SO glad they are taking that opportunity. As one HELL of a die-hard Fallout fan....I am absolutely ecstatic for this to launch!

The Fallout games at the surface level do not have much of a plot since you can drive the base story to how you play, but even after one play-through, the plot can hit you hard. And with so many games you discover a rich lore that ties the universe together. My first Fallout game was Fallout 2, and early on in the game, I ended up in my hometown of Redding, CA. When that happened I basically knew it was in California but not that it starts in the area I grew up in. What I love about the series is its quirky/dark humor. The new games have toned down this a lot compared to Fallout and Fallout 2 but it is still there. As to a plot, I think Fallout 3 and somewhat 4 have really good cannon plots. The exploration is where you find the lore that makes the universe so interesting, to the point you can finish the game and do a new run and find someplace you did not visit before and find something about the story that you did not know. If you ever find the time try replaying Fallout 3 or 4 and you will see this.

So you know Jaby, the Dishonored games were not made by Bethesda. They were published by Bethesda Softworks which is different from Bethesda Game Studios (Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Starfield). The Dishonored games were made by Arkane Studios which like BGS is now under/published by XBOX.

It may end up being the tail wagging the dog. If the series introduces new storylines or improves existing pathways or comes up with new characters and bosses, the game may adopt those in its a new edition (come on, if the show does we ll, they will maximize its revenue with a new game version using those elements). We'll see.

I'm not sure about this yet and have major reservations. Preordered Fallout 4 and have 4000 hours in currently. Just downloaded Sim Settlements 2 for FO4 and started a new survival playthough tonight. Its my favorite game of all time.

Very excited after seeing who directed, love season 1 of Westworld and the vibe and set pieces, everything about this screamed yes for me, wasn't happy about the deathclaw looking weird tho... Then I realized later it was a Yao guai and it looked absolutely perfect!!!

I've never heard of Fallout until today, but it seems like it would be fun to watch this. Maybe I'll get around to playing it in the future. Amazon has got jokes with that "2 day free shipping" they put in the intro, I didn't see that coming at all. 🤣 I laughed when Achara laughed. Enjoyed the reaction 👍👍✌out.

That trailer looks amazing ! Bonus point for casting Ella Purnel, the actress behind the voice of Jinx in Arcane ! She's insanely talented. The tone definitely hits that "It's the end of the world, enjoy the rest of your life... for the next 2 minutes" vibe. And Achara is right about the Action RPG game series from Bethesda, it's The Elder Scrolls (Oblivion is IV, Skyrim is V)

LMAO. I love Achara's reaction to the sign on the turret. I hope you love irony, because Fallout is thick with it. I mean, you can purposefully not wonder about things while you play the games, and just enjoy the action. Or you can look into things and become deeply disturbed by humanity, lol.

I love the Fallout storyline which progressed and became deeper with every release, You were speaking of the buggy Fallout 76 that was pretty much a failure, but still somehow exists. Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4 are legendary games that are still being played and never needed to be enticed to become multi-player (thus Fallout 76's failure) But the story of a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world after leaving the "safety" of her Vault will be a fun to watch journey of her innocence turning into survival. The dog companion "Dogmeat" figures prominently in the game story as well. I saw the classic Vault-Tec vaults and jumpsuits, the Ghouls, the Brotherhood of Steel, Radroaches, and of course the various survivors/settlers and raiders. It's a story we see time and again but Fallout always put a strange stuck in the 60's spin on everything. I just wish I had Amazon Prime 😕

Oh no, there was definitely drama around Fallout New Vegas, where 1) Obsidian were given only 18 months to finish it, and the game was broken AF on release and 2) Obsidian's bonus was famously tied to the games metacritic score, and they missed it by just a single point. FNV was later patched, and along with community mods/fixes, it's not a properly playable game (and one of the best in the series).

I dont remember Fallout for the stories, I remember it for the sandbox. The tone looks good so the stories can be filled by bethesda/whoever writes it and isn't completely dense. If they decide to take from fallout 2 they might have to be more story accurate since it was a different kind of game than 3++ (as far as I remember) but it has immense potential.

How was the Last of Us the cliff note version? 😂 it was the whole story just with less infected encounters which I do admit does take away from the experience some, but the essential story was still in tact throughout the show

A lot of parts were changed and sped up or completely reworked for the show. For instance, in the show Tess' role was significantly reduced (especially the side plot with Robert and his men) which I was really disappointed by at the time. Bill's episode is another example, though I really love what they did with it, tonally it's entirely changed from the game and pretty much removes the entire booby trapped town section from of the story. Henry and Sam's roles were also incredibly brief and reworked compared to the game in order to fit the new characters (Perry & Kathleen) and the changed setting (from Pittsburgh to Kansas City). Pretty much the entire sewers section was cut down significantly. Overall it's a fantastic adaptation but they made some odd choices and removed a lot of parts that gave characters time to bond. The worst change in my opinion was to make Outbreak Day in 2003 instead of 2013 for the sake of Part I now taking place in 2023. That change was entirely pointless in the grand scheme and makes it even less likely for 'Future Days' (Ellie's crucial song from Part II) to be used since it didn't exist until 2013. *Edit: Also, I just remembered the entire Jackson dam and raider attack was absent from the show (and many missed opportunities to use a floating pallet get Ellie around flooded areas).

episode 3 wasn't intact, was basically a gay romance flashback story of bill and frank when original was bill a jaded survivalist. bill was dickish but i really liked him, joel and eli's interactions. frank was already gone before in the story taking his own life leaving a note which pretty much his and bill's relationship soured. episode 3 in itself is interesting, however i truly would've loved the tense moments of them having to navigate a town full of infected and traps. the lack of the infected encounters too kind of killed it for me. it was a good adaption but it could have been a tad bit better. not going to say it's a shitty adaptation because one or two things i didn't like.

@@coolguy845 Honestly, I found episode 3 problematic. In the game, they were a couple but you never knew how they met and it was fine. In the series, survival guy finds charismatic helpless survivor caught in one of his traps and gives food and protection in exchange for... Make helpless survivor a woman and it becomes more obvious how ugly that is. In the show, it could be that Frank wasn't even gay, he just didn't want to die. I get that that wasn't what they were trying to show, but it is the narrative they shot.

Fallout you make your own character and do whatever you want, there are some memorable characters and story arcs for sure but its the world that makes it special and this trailer is really capturing the correct vibe. It does seem to be taking the story of 3 as reference though which is primarily you looking for father voiced by liam neeson

I don't know what do you mean by Fallout 3 being long, it was one of the shortest Fallout games. It has the less amount of side content in the series. If only you explore everything on the map, still it's shorter than, for example, Fallout 2 and New Vegas, definitely shortet than Fallout 4.

The show is canon to the games and is set 9 years after Fallout 4. It's an original story not based on any of the games. Bethesda is treating it as if it is Fallout 5. I think it will be extremely consistent with the games.

It's the IDEAL game for a tv series, the games/world they've pre-built is MASSIVE!! and I've already read reports that HBO has added new and exciting lore 🙌🙌 each game has a unique story arc, usually based in a different point in time and at a different location in the USA, so they can go anywhere! And a totally new story works too! Just makes it a new installment! Don't get me wrong... The show will finish and you can almost guarantee I'll want it in games form 🤣🤣🤣
