Barb wasn't with her family when the bombs drop because their marriage broke up before then. When Cooper is doing kids parties, someone comments "allimony is expensive".
@@LoneVaultWanderer What if the daughter was a synth? And Cooper saw her mechanic body after the nukes had did the damage to her body. He asked Henry : Where is my family?!
Glad they explained that chalkboard timeline and confirmed that all games are still canonical and happened, that way the new vegas fans can chill out already. Even though they're going to nitpick anything they can now
They explained that it was canon even before that, but no everyone has to be pissy about everything and i tought it was clear as day that it was after 2277. i mean the arrow points to it after the date, when all other dates events are highlight under them. The real question tough since s2 is going to be at least partly in New Vegas they have to set one event as canon. F1 we know its canon the master was beaten and that in fallout 2 and 3 the enclave were defeated as stated in f4 so i am curius which ending is canon on new vegas front :) should be fun.
@@Jaysin412 Yeah, like man new vegas ''fans'' went completely nuts over that tiny misinformed detail. i mean i loved new vegas but i did not think it was a big deal.
What I love about Fallot, the TV show, is that it's NOT an adaptation. It's a television show, based on the game, but has NOTHONG to do with any of the games, other than the fact that it's Fallot. This TV show is like one of the Fallout games, their own entity, that stands apart from each other game. While there is a lot of cannon, the TV show is its own entity, and for that, I'm so very greatful!
The fall of the NCR is the 1st Battle of Hoover Dam and the over expansion of territory afterwards. Hank knows vault 21 is there, but maybe not that it's been sealed in. Maybe the Enclave came in to unseal it explaining the chaotic credit scenes and the Shady Sands destruction. Maybe Coop's daughter and Barb could be in vault 21 as some twist
I think much of what we will see will be from Van Buren. I think the fall of Shady Sands will be when the congressional building was destroyed, as what occurs in VB.
Anyone else want to see a cameo or more from Danny Trejo who plays Raul Tejada a ghoul companion from Fallout New Vegas in season 2? How cool would that be? He should technically be still alive and well. 👍
Wondering if the "bomb" used was a cold fusion reactor in a vault (the one Maldover was frozen in WITH a Geck). An Airburst bomb would not have left the craters we have seen and usually mitigate fallout whereas a subsurface would have done exactly what was shown.
pretty sure Vault-Tech would have their Overseers that were in charge of the CEOs and high management, a means to eradicate their competition ("everyone that isn't us").
That is definitely a ground burst bomb. If you ever watch nuclear test detonations you would recognize it. The 15 megaton blast from Castle Bravo left over a mile wide crater and that was a ground burst. The more effective blast would be an air burst since that would destroy more of an area
I think she was at a high enough level in Vault-Tec to be part of his plan. this is how she knew so much as well. I get the impression that Barb is alive and I'm confused that the Ghoul asks where his family is. Since he had his daughter with him when the bombs dropped did he somehow get her to a vault and they stopped him from going in?
If a Yao Guai mauled a knight i wonder what kind of chaos and mayhem a Deathclaw will cause, and what would be needed to take it down, maybe it would be a real challenge for The Ghoul or maybe even him stays away from them
Solution to the chalkboard "Retcon" : Shady Sands lost its grip as the keystone holding the NCR together once they got involved with House, Hoover Dam, and the Mojave in general. Winning Hoover Dam vs the Legion just created a a money and manpower drain that weighed heavily on the NCR in general and Shady Sands in specific through the newly energized power grid. Finally after winning the Mojave through the events of New Vegas, they thought they could finally rest on their laurels and enjoy the economic boom of Hoover dam. But Courier Six never actually killed Mr House... per say... just locked him out of the system and locked inside that pod. Mr House was rescued by Courier Six, who was then given one last mission to deliver a nuke to Hank. Hank gets revenge over his wife leaving him for another woman. Courier Six gets revenge for the NCR ruining his Yes Man independence attempt. Mr House gets to rise from the ashes and get some revenge on the NCR for their shenanigans in trying to subvert him at every turn. Why doesn't the rest of the NCR rebuild Shady Sands or reconquer the area? Because in their view, Shady Sands about destroyed the NCR for a pipedream of a revived electric grid for the settlements in the L.A. area. Hence, that first battle for Hoover Dam was the beginning of the end for Shady Sands and perhaps the NCR et large.
1:08 🙋♂ I suspected how positive and how popular it would really be! Lol. It's the sensation of Spring 2024 just as I predicted it would be. Great speculation, I'm excited to see Deathclaws and Super Mutants too. 😀
What would be the possibility that Barb is actually the daughter grown up and took the mantle of her mother just like the same thing that happened in Fallout 4 with Sean.
my prediction for season 2 : >hank goes into new vegas while being surveiled by securitrons and its occupants, marveling himself how did house save vegas and how a big civiliaztion survived and that there is no longer any vault tech > goes inside the strip and gets invited into the luck 38 > he goes there expecting house or a tribal leader or ncr > instead he finds a room where a big securitron with a smiley face and also a smiley face big screen plays poker with a middle aged man/old man around 55-63 year old >said old man has a ranger sequoia , a 556 revoler and a service rifle attached to his body as they are his weapons. his armor is a pre war us marine gear with inscriptions on it , his helmet has "forgive me mama " on it >Hank: Whats the meaning of this ? who are you people ? how did you survive ? wheres house ? > old man : house ? house has been gone a long time fella .im all that remains , all that sticks thise whole shitshow together. as about how i am ? i go by many names .but one has stuck with me . i go by six. courier six > episode ends or changes , frank sinatra blue moon starts playing >absolute fucking KINO achieved >actor of courier : gary oldman or willem dafoe or christian bale
I think season 2 will have the Brotherhood defending their new Cold Fusion Reactor against the Enclave. A Brotherhood vs Enclave rematch would be awesome. And of course Ghoul and Lucy heading to New Vegas. You can see smoke rising in the city, so it seems that people still live there. Maybe the lights are just off for some reason? This is 15ish years after the NV game, after all.
We might not see much of the Strip itself until the end of Season two. The entire second season could be Lucy and the Ghoul making the crossing from LA, Maximus and the BoS back home and god knows what else. My money is on no big FNV reveal until near the end of season two or the beginning of season 3. It is also fairly obvious that Vault tec may have intended to start the war but didn't get to because someone else started it early.
"Where did Hank get the nuke?" Remeber in Fallout 76 the overseer was charged with securing the 3 nuke silos. Because of the show i believe other vaults had similar mission. And 76 happens 25 years after the bombs drop. Have the 3 Appalachia silos (and possibly others) still be under Vault Teks control 200 years later? Hanks actions tell me that is a strong possibility
I hope they get the distances and travel right in season 2 onwards (something like how game of thrones showed the travel and time passing) given canonically the boneyard and NCR/shady sands is like 200 miles away from each other (as the first games map has shady sands roughly east of the sequoia national forest) and it would be nice for them to make travel seem more realistic given they are meant to do it all on foot (aside from brotherhood vertibirds) especially since vault 4 is supposed to be in the boneyard, at least according to the wiki so maximus and Lucy walked 200 miles back with just a cutaway which is disappointing in a way given how far it would be in reality. I would have loved more of a travel montage or dialogue of how long it took.
Season 2! Hell yeah! Bring it! I binged whole season 1 in a single day. I just couldn't stop. Loved it. I have no idea what will be in season 2, but I'm sure about one thing: I want people who worked on Fallout franchise to be involved - whether it is Todd Howard or someone else from Bethesda or even anyone from companies that made Fallout 1 and 2. I think it was Obsidian if I'm not wrong. I want the timeline and events to be matching with the game lore and timeline and events.
Legate Lanius is gonna be an epic addition the the next season I feel like they’ll have the Great Khali act as his body and have someone else do the voice for the epic symbol
I wasn’t ready for the last part of the final episode when Hank is staring over new Vegas. I’m hyped for next season and this might be over the top but will we get to see the courier?
I hope to see them have 5+ seasons as the story moves across the country, California/Shady Sands - Season 1, New Vegas - Season 2, Midwest (Chicago) - Season 3, DC Region - Season 4, Boston Commonwealth - Season 5.
My theory is that nuking New Vegas and Shady Sands is tied somehow. Im guessing maybe the NCR victory over the dam is canon, and instead of letting them take Vegas Mr. House and perhaps whoever is in charge of Vault Tec decided to nuke the NCR back into being a second rate power before they got too strong. Itll be interesting to see if the only things left are some robots and ghouls, with Mr House barely hanging on underground somewhere. Im so glad they got renewed even if I kind of suspected it already. Nothing is certain with TV, but this is what happens when you actually make a good show and care about the source
I think fallout 76 already has the answer to how hank got a nuke. The story is about vault dwellers obtaining nukes to pacify threats and they have communication with the enclave
the only thing that bothers me with the ending is when they activate the coldfusion the entire city of los angeles lights up. higly doubt the city infrastructure survives a nuke blast and 200 years later all the lights comes on as nothing happen
I'm hoping on here to saw in a new interview the showrunners stated they didn't like that California and New Vegas were rebuilt so they had them destroyed.
I really like the series, I am interested to see if the will have Easter eggs to Ug Qualtoth, Zetans, or ghost. Nothing like a full episode, but hints would be cool.
After the first episode... I looked how much I had left and was almost sad seeing it's only 8 episodes for a season! Granted they're long episodes but dang it feels like teasingly to have only 8 hours. Because it's been great. Latter episodes had some weird moments sure but overall it was so game lore fitting visually and theme wise. I do need that Fallout 4 remaster and maybe 3 and NV too. Also, wouldn't it be great to have graphics update for the first two games? I just need more Fallout, the next game too.
15:42 On the contrary... So many studios get this shit wrong. They just take a list of cameos and sum them up and pray it makes the adaptation good, that feels like pandering and it takes you out of the show. It's exactly this level of care that makes it such a good watch. They don't jump out of the screen and break the fourth wall to be like hey hey we made an ingame reference did you get it haha we're a fallout show. They just integrated it naturally when and where it fits and don't even mention it like you get it or not but it is what it is in these lands. Very good direction there.
I think people just don’t know how to read it you can clearly see that it has 2277 and then a line coming out with a arrow pointing to the bomb meaning shady could of fell in 2277 and a couple years later the bomb was dropped on it
Usually when they do location tax credits they usually have conditions for the content. It might put pressures to change aspects to the story. I’m worried it will go to shit is all
If The Strip is destroyed. You know what's going to happen in the fanbase. It just feels like a slap in a face and it fuels the "Bethesda hates Obsidian" stuff.
Everyone wants New Vegas stuff to be in season two, and who can blame them, really? On that note, if any of the tribes that made up the Legion are left (even if they're scattered), that would be cool. I also would love to see any (or all) our main protagonists come across the continued progress of Project Purity and how all that has shaken out so long after the events of FO3. I think all the protagonists would benefit from knowing how all that went down. (And I personally would like to see just how far West they managed to reach.) Aside from that, I would actually like to see something that hasn't really been touched anywhere (to my recollection, anyway): What happened to all the folks in places in and around the missile silos that were dotted all throughout the Midwest? Or, how did Canada fair once the bombs dropped, considering they were annexed by the U.S.? If we could go north of Redding, California and see the PNW (and maybe all the way up to Vancouver), that would be interesting af. The region has all sorts of nifty things in our reality, so seeing how they exist in whatever their Fallout versions are would be some pretty fertile ground for adding to (and expanding on) the lore. OH, and seeing someone like Maximus walk around Necropolis would be funny as hell, but I can't remember what state the place is in post-game.
Hank could have blown up a G.E.C.K. or even one of those cold fusion reactors if shady sands had one. I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that the G.E.C.K. is powered by similar cold fusion technology. (Kind of like what happens to the institute in FO4)
My theory is Hank fire bombed Shady Sands, not nuked it. Would be a similar level of destruction. The crater could be from a later nuke. Someone even said he "rained down fire" or some such. Why wouldn't they say "nuke" if it was a nuke?
It’s totally weird Hank running to House HQ New Vegas. To me it leaves the door open for Hank to have been secretly working for House the whole time he was Barb’s assistant at Vault Tech. When the bombs started to fall he just kept his cover. I’m stoked to see a lot more of Hank and House in season 2. I also don’t think Hank pulled the trigger on the nuke even though he appeared to be confessing to it and rationalizing it to Lucy. I think Betty actually did the deed based on what she said to Norm in an earlier episode.
Todd Coward trying to suck the Hater's off by saying the chalk board timeline moved from the fall to the bombs as separate events really irritates me cause the bombing of shady sands in 2277 makes more sense. The NCR in New Vegas tells you (the character) that they need your help to fight the powder gangers and do not have the man power or the resources to help bring law and order to Primm.. small community of 20ish people. I wonder what happened that was so major that they need some random courier's help... I always wondered why the NCR needed you since the events of 2241 (Fallout 2) was 40 years prior, i assumed a lot happened and they just fell to internal conflict or something. but finding out their capitol was just nuked 4 years prior, made it make sense. It explains why they were so aggressive in wanting to take over the dam. Wanting to turn New Vegas into a new capitol instead of just an occupied region is the perfect solution. The NCR losing 35k population (not all soldiers/rangers mind you) would impact their resources, but not wipe them out. they would still exist as a solid force.. but while attempting to secure a better future for themselves and their communities it makes sense that they would have spare resources, especially if they were trying to build up a new capitol. saying that the events of New Vegas happen and then shady Sands gets nuked, doesn't ruin anything.. it is just a cowardly fucking thing to do. let the Haters cry and piss themselves.. they just prove that they didn't pay attention to the game that they want to defend so badly. pathetic. As much as we as fans need to not let "Shitty plots and themes" take over our entertainment, The creators of the lore should not cave to every crybaby. I say this as a LoreCrafter myself. I have a Book series with deep lore that i am sure someone out there would eventually find some flaw in.. but they do not know every single aspect of the world's lore. events happen that shape the future of a world that might not be immediately spelled out. Just because a piece of information changes what you thought was correct, doesn't mean that information was wrong.
with that said... the nukes dropping in Fallout 4 (Boston area East Coast) and the bombs dropping in the Fallout series California (West Coast) doesn't line up when you take into account the media coverage and time zones... the only thing i have seen that is even slightly worth mentioning. It could be explained away that Fallout 4 was not early morning and was actually in the evening.. been a while since i played the vanilla intro and not sure if a time is mentioned.. but a few people pointed it out... so just in case they were correct - i'll give them that one
Well, this show is supposed to be 19 years after fallout 4. I bealeave in the timeline. So predwin should be up and running, but it went to the east coast. I think
I'm so glad they are doing a second season. They've just barely dipped their toe in thew water with season 1. I was nervous because it seems like every service is so cancel happy with any series.
I think Hank was going to go see Mr House, but he’s gonna find out that Mr House was killed(one of the endings from Vegas where he dies is prolly cannon) and will take over the strip. Also we will probably learn that the strip took a huge hit from deathclaws, that’s why the lights aren’t on, maybe the strip isn’t completely destroyed but is rebuilding from the loss of Mr House and the Deathclaw attack.
I have a little theory, that the courier’s accidental destruction of the Divide cause environmental change to California that people started to migrate away from the large cities, including shady sand. And that’s described as the Fall of Shady Sand.
I tend to agree with you. I dont think Vault Tec dropped the nuke, i think they had plans to do so, but it is ambiguous enough that it could still be something else.
What I wonder here. If Hank MacLean dies somehow up there on the surface, does his clone in Vault 31 automatically wake up and "respawn" him so to speak. Also could Norm potentially leverage his way out of Vault 31 by threatening those very pods the very competent and scary guard robot is tasked to protect?
This is the way....make the games primary....keep it all conical lore. Embrace your fans dont alienate the audience from day one. Maybe Barb is in cryo in Vault 31. Daughter Im not sure since she was with Coop when it all came down and we haven't seen her. With Vegas and that area I hope we see a Wendigo also.
It's clear the show was well produced and written. Not perfect, but much better than I thought it would be. Hurry Season 2! P.S. I'm guessing the fall of Shady Sands is purely NCR being driven from it. The nuke happens afterwards.
Based on his knowing about NV at the end I'm guessing not. If he does it won't be chalk full of speculation, because he's seen it all, which is unfortunate because I really liked that style.
Yeah i agree, I’ve already watched it and other people’s reviews but I want Lones input I like hearing people talk about fallout it’s truly a rich universe.
maybe season 2 will have the followers of the apocalypse no way they died out they was teaching the wasteland from old holotapes also news of the legion or have a presents still in season 2
I guess it is safe to say you won't be finishing your Episode by Episode reactions as you were doing them then? Unfortunate, but I recognize it's selfish of me to want you to do a reaction video after each episode when I've already binged through and enjoyed them. I don't hold it against you, just really liked the format with your speculations as it went. Looking forward to Season 2! Cannot come fast enough! P.S. having played all of the games from 3 on, I'm now very interested, vested even, in playing 1 & 2. Have you played them? If so, would you recommend them?
I think a big part of the reason we didn't see Super Mutants or Deathclaws is budget. The CGI that is in the show is hit or miss. The scene when the power armor flies is particularly bad. Im guessing they didnt have a huge budget for those fx. It would make sense to avoid them in season one rather than show a mediocre version and ruin their chances at a season 2.
finally been able to start watching you & Matty again. just finished the show last night. its so much better than I expected. move over citizen Kane & godfather. just like the game series, there's nothing else quite like it. I was so relieved that they embraced the violence and gore and adult themes of the games. I was afraid it was going to be another Starfield that would've been ultra woke and family friendly.
