We are a family of 6 building our own concrete log home in the mountains of North Idaho with no experience. Our goal is to remain debt-free through our complete home build & do as much as we can to create a sustainable homestead. We are finally dried in! Now the real fun begins!

To have a “Mini-binge” and enjoy myself. It’s always neat to review the posts because (like movies) you see so much more2nd, 3rd . Did you put concrete over the dirt, sand or gravel, foundation? This has been so amazing, watching your progress from trailer to tiny house,to finish. I've been watching since the Jeremy singed out with his department. I've enjoyed watching each step, pieces, snack belt move and watching the kids grow too. I look for your video's each and everyday that you post. I am always wanting to see what it got accomplished along that week. It's helped me keep moving forward this year as well. Teaching your children skills that can make them more independent, a sense of rugged individualism, well that's the greatest gift of love a parent can give. You guys had a vision for your future, set a goal, & put your blood, sweat & tears into it. Look what you have achieved!!! I know there is still a lot to do, however this is a huge stage done & dusted. Fantastic video, I particularly love that all the kids are old enough to always remember what their Mum & Dad did for the family, with some help along the way. A lot of work has gone into this video as well, I don’t know how you chose what clips to use, but you nailed it. It's been such a long year for everyone, but ya'll really did that! Built a whole house this year! What a relief to have it dried in before winter! It's been exciting to watch this year. It's funny because on one had, I'm glad you didn't get the kids involved in the day-to-day of it, but just when you really needed extra hands, so they could just go be kids and have a fun summer, but on the other hands, I also wanted to see them right there learning how to build a house the whole way. lol

After seeing the layout I realized that this is a very large home. Sure like to see how you're going to heat and cool it. Probably need two separate systems, one on each end of the house. Heated floors would of been awesome. Full house backup generator probably a must out there.

Ive started my own project here in my grand father's farm but the construction technique is totally different since it'll be built using brick and mortar and rebars. @@evalinawarne1337 I really don't have a good camera to record. But I'm just starting to learn from these great people who make it look so easy. I never imagined that it will be easy for me here since I'm short of resources and I've just been living independent working at a call centre with very limited income. Yeah it isn't easy at all. Watching these videos has given me so much hope and I've learnt how meaningful it is. I've only started cleaning the overgrown weeds and other vegetation and I'm applying my AutoCAD skills to design a home in the 600sq/t land in the middle of a 8 acre farm. Hoping to give it a shot and see how it comes out. I'll make video's for sure episode by episode and I know I wouldn't make a fortune out of those but my intention is to help a guy like me understand the true meaning of family and build a perfect homestead.

This is a great video. Watching a years progress in 30 minutes is so cool. Even though I have watched this project from the start this one video sure brings it all together. What a great memory to have. Both of You are the greatest.

Melissa, not sure if Jeremy offers his two cents on "what pieces" you choose when you EDIT all your videos, but, I'll say again, YOU are an incredible videographer, editor and crafts'woman!! Love this WHOLE synopsis of IT ALL; start to finish! AND, each song you choose is also apropos to each segment! Bless you two. You crack me up about temps over 100. True. I remember a story about snow on the 4th of July in the 70’s in Sandpoint. My son graduated from Sandpoint high in ‘94. Party was to be outside. I’m thinking it snowed a little. My grandson graduated 2017. Hot all week. Cold and rain on graduation day. Must be good luck. If you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Love the panhandle. ❤
