That's why us as a new generation and more developed to be aware of our psychological health we have to break that pattern. 👍

Jiju, Thanks for your comment. I totally agree. The more in the dark we are (or in denial about our family history), the more problems we leave for younger generations. Breaking the pattern is the goal.

nah...You have an altar you are married to... an ancestor worshipped a god or idol other than the creator...The covenant with the spirit which rules your family exchanges something for the descendants...in your case NO WOMAN has children for example...differs in family....fast and pray in Jesus name....1. Jesus died for every curse and his blood sacrifice is what breaks such spiritual covenant....OR you are married to an incubus....and DO have children but in the spiritual realm with that spouse hence can have fibroids in the physical UNTIL you get deliverance from a powerful Christian spiritual leader or priest

Great job, thanks for this insightful video. I am doing a paper on Intergenerational Trauma and how it affects children's learning. Also, will be looking at your Racial Battle Fatigue video because of its relevance to the topic as well. Keep it up, appreciate your thoroughness and clarity on these topics.

Thank you Daniel!! Very glad this is helpful. I am currently working with a traditional publisher on a special project on this topic coming out 2022. Stay tuned 😉

I would LOVE it if you made a video on the effects of intergenerational trauma on infants whose mothers were abused while they were pregnant. As a foster mama, this would really help me and so many others!

Hi Morgan, I'll see if I could include this in another video. I'm not 100% familiar with this topic but I'll see what I can learn.

therapeutic parenting (aka trauma informed parenting or empathic reparenting) deals with this and recognises the effect of stress on the unborn child. Repeated interaction can alter neurological pathways to facilitate healing (helping develop 'B' roads where there are motorways in effect). ❤

So what do you guys think of intergenerational trauma? Have you experienced it?
@Jiho333
@Jiho333 6 лет назад
Támara Hill, LPC that's what I'm scared of to pass it to my own children, for that reason I have to make sure I'm OK before I put them to this world, because my family are going through it too.

@@Jiho333 I don't know how I missed This! But you are not alone in this as many people feel the same way. Taking care of yourself and ensuring that you are well through spiritual and psychotherapeutic efforts is utopia. None of us are perfect of course. But we all have something to work on, me included. ☺

@@sonowwhat7592 thank you so much! I appreciate that. And thanks for watching. Wish I could see people in different states for counseling. Unfortunately, psychotherapists are licensed by states and I tend to be licensed by a handful.

First I want to affirm the validity of when the student is ready, the teacher appears. This isnt the first exposure to this concept, in fact, I have been aware for quite some time. This time however there was enough of a spark, patience, intellectual training and pain to hear. My life is the canvas, I believe of my family's inter-generational traumas. I have been severely mangled under the weight of it and have been through a lot of fhe institutions and recovery systems you mention. I cannot truly articulate what I have done to not give up, I can't. But I can share that the incentives and forces that are unseen, both for good, and ill are working sufficiently enough for me to 'own' it and to heal. A challenge I will share I have but I am progressing in is forgiveness. For so long I protested, agonized, seethed, numbed, through Jesus, sex, food, and money at, and cried over the injustices. But there was this day where that was no longer acceptable and I had no other options or tools other than something called radical acceptance that started me on this footing. I don't know how far I will get, but I believe I am going to be amazed just the same. Thank you and I wish we could talk.

Do you deal with racialized intergenerational trauma and intergenerational poverty in African American families?
@TherapistTamaraHill
@TherapistTamaraHill 6 лет назад
Philippe SHOCK Matthews Interesting question. I do not but I think there is a lot of need for research in this area. We certainly cannot overlook the intergenerational influence of cultural racism, institutionalized racism, and segregation on families. Thanks for bringing this up!

Hey Tamara, I'm a RN currently switching over to mental health. I desire to become a Psych. NP as well as be able to counsel. I'm new to mental health, but due to my own personal experiences, desire to focus on "trauma". Can you tell me, what program did you go to for your certification and where do I look for certifications? I desire to focus on generational trauma. My purpose is to break the cycle in my family line and I'm well aware of the struggles.

There is Indigenous korero descending through my late mom's Granny on her father's side. Personally I think at the present time it's to do with Truth which can't be anything else but Colonial religion & Indigenous Science, academics. Abuse is more of a weapon than anything else, including the abuse of alcohol, and the banning of Indigenous culture and language from the 2nd half of the 1800's that died out after many of the old people passed on, especially those born in the first half of the 1800's. Very complex, but still a joy to study for those who don't speak the Indigenous language.

Whats the difference between family pathology and intergenerational traumas?
@TherapistTamaraHill
@TherapistTamaraHill 6 лет назад
Seed The Poet That's a good question! It depends on who you ask. I think it's different for two reasons. Intergenerational trauma is oftentimes referring to traumatic experience that results in post-traumatic stress or post-traumatic stress disorder. It's a generational trauma based on factors that lead to traumatic stress disorder or post-traumatic stress. Family pathology may or may not result in post-traumatic stress disorder or post-traumatic stress. Although family pathology throughout generations may be traumatic, there's a possibility that the family pathology may not be traumatic throughout generations. Thanks for your question

Hi Mike, If we're being politically correct, you are right. However, there are some cultures that refer to "intergenerational trauma" as a curse including trauma itself. So the video is titled based on this.
