These V70 / XC70's were the last proper Swedish tanks. We have these old taxis here in Scandinavia and some of them have over 700.000 kilometers on the clock. These cars can stand a LOT of kilometers/miles and are extremely safe vehicles.
My dad absolutely loves his 2016 XC70 T5 Platinum! This is hands down my favorite Volvo of all time! You found a diamond in the rough with this one Jake, nice job!
In Sweden, with salted roads and a wet and cold climate, we regularly drive these to 350 k miles and above. Just remember your oil changes and general maintenance ;) 90 k miles is almost brand new, your folks are safe and protected.
Wow. This is seriously a beautiful example. They just don't make solid cars like this anymore! I just bought myself a 2015.5 T6 XC70 with only 64xxx miles, not a platinum but the premier package. Wish it was fully loaded like this but I appreciate the features it did come with! Love the car and I'm so glad I got myself one
Get it Polestar tuned for them; becomes a sleeper! You’ll want to keep it in sport mode though if you do, lol! Mine is a 15.5 pearl white/blonde with Polestar, 55k equally as clean (those are Weathertech, their poorly adhered bagels just fall off). I look forward to earning those mileage badges. She’s garage kept, dealer maintained, a professionally dealer detailed 2-3 times a year. We call her “the rocket.”
2006 XC 70, 181,000 km....A car that glides along any road, and when you put the foot down gives the feeling of total power as and when required. Volvo wagons...none better, no matter the age. Service as required, maintain them...a car for life. Nice info based review
Jake, totally appreciate & love your review, man. Looking at the same model , pkg , mileage, and a little less clean than your G'ma's ride. This and your followers comments may gave sold me on Volvos and this model. Thanks again - be well!
Absolutely beautiful car ! I have one myself, D4 AWD MY2015. We have two small children and safety is a priority for me. As soon as I opened the door I knew this was the right choice. They're ( doors) just a little lighter than the Smart car :) The perfect estate car for a family!
Was on the fence of getting one. This video definitely made it a little easier for the purchase.. I'm looking to get a 2015 XC70 T5 Platinum with 77,000 mi for $21, 000.. Seems like a okay deal with the prices of cars lately..
We've just bought a 2015 d5 se lux version in the UK. We love it so much. Comfort, powerful, practical and rugged with a bit of off-road ability. Without the bills of an SUV.
Beautiful wagon, I am looking for similar car for myself. its hard to find a good one here in Canada! for your sure your grand parents will enjoy that beautiful Volvo!
I remember watching videos of the subaru outback ll bean edition which got me into watching your car videos. I thought the upgrade to be a subaru outback 3.6r limited/ touring. This is still a big upgrade over the old car though. #surprisingupgrade
I noticed this car is a little different to my 08, dash! Yours is much better! But everything else is the same, but there is no audio options in the rear or booster seats, and I’m sure you must have A/C in the front seats!
I own a 2005 Volvo V70 with a 2.4 liter 5cylinder. It got 382.000 km (around 220.000 mls) and still runs great. It's a Volvo. They are almost like Toyotas.
I bought the same xc70, 3 years ago. 4 cylinder front wheel drive 20k miles. ZERO options. Certified pre owned. For me plenty of power and I love the 30 plus miles per gallon. I kept my 2004 XC70 all wheel drive which I bought new for the nasty weather.
From the engine selection for the XC70, which one has proven reliability over the other or which would be preferred if you are shopping for one? Thanks!
T6 or 3.2 would be my personal preference. They’ll burn oil but go forever otherwise. Honestly though anything other than the 2.0T which was only available for a year will be solid
Thanks for this video! I’m on the fence between a 2016-2018 Acura RDX and either a 2016 Volvo XC70 platinum with 70k miles or a premium with 36k (both fwd models and both clean Carfax reports). I’ve been a long time Honda/Acura owner but have always liked Volvos and am thinking about making a switch. Any opinion or advice about my switch to Volvo and the two trim levels on the XC70s? Much thanks, Fran
Yeah the interior can feel dated but it also feels timeless to me, I love it's simplicity and functionality, there is so much going on in newer volvos with the tablet screen housing everything and these just feel right
Cars been absolutely flawless. Haven't seen it in a while but its got to be close to 100k by now and other than oil changes it hasn't needed a thing! Also one of these will feel like a couch on wheels coming out of a Jeep.
Drive a 2003 cross country turbo 2.5lt. five cylinder all wheel drive ...expensive to repair, but I learn. Solid tank car, faster than any suv..most cars! My Wife is of Swedish decent. So that's good right.?!
I have a 2015 T6 Platinum model with the exact same interior color, but it is an "Osniumn Grey Metallic" exterior and it has 40,000 miles. My other car is a 2012 Volvo C70 with 80,000 miles.
Has someone who's been actively looking for a Volvo XC70 for about a year it's a little infuriating how about 90% of the customers bought cream interiors
I'm a owner as well and you absolutely right Since 2009 China made But you gotta believe it this things are still a tank Is hard to tell if is Chinese made
