Hay Scotty I got an odd one. If anyone else can figure it out reply. 2002 trailblazer il6 ext 211,000. When the car is cold and idles more an 5 minutes will sometimes stumble or stall. I changed my fuel regulator and cam solenoid last year because they were leaking also changed the ambient air temp sensor. I don't have a mass airflow sensor. I have a mapp sensor. Do think that could be my problem? Once the car is hot not warm hot! Full optimal temperature it idols perfectly. I still get 16 miles pergallon and drives like a new car. Please help thanks.

Hi Scotty! Had two Honda Civic's before I went to Volvo. Gotta say not as reliable as the Honda's but good cars nonetheless. I'm currently on 174000 miles on my MK1 S60 2.0 T. The 5 cylinder engine still starts like and runs champ but the suspension components need replacing which is a common thing due to the soft bushings.
@randomesteven3935
@randomesteven3935 2 года назад
The early P2s are always the most problematic. Those P2 post 03/04 are probably a lot better with updated bushing designs. The P1 Volvo's are quite durable as well and relatively easy to work on suspension wise vs the P2. Have an 02 S80 2.0T and an 04 S40 2.4i in my family. Still drives brilliantly, except the S40 needs an alignment hahaha

Sturdy, pretty decent power, good gas milage, quiet, extremely comfortable (the seats are more comfortable than some sofas honestly) and the engine can last a very long time as long as you use common sense, take care of it and do the usual service it requires and is cheaper to fix than for example a BMW 5 series or an Audi A4 or A6.

Bought the 1976 six-cylinder Volvo Wagon in the mid-1980s for $3500. Kept it for seven years and maintenance was about another $2000 total. But the dealer became increasingly hesitant to work on it. Tried to tell me that a battery drain issue was due to the 1-amp clock. Yup, 12 watts to drive… a clock??? Traded it in when the flywheel gear lost a few teeth and it wouldn’t start. They told me to bring it in to see how much they would give me for it. I told them it wasn’t going anywhere and to ask the mechanics; as they’d seen it quite a lot recently. The salesman came back, gave me a good price for it, and told me to leave it unlocked with the key under the front mat. Never saw it again. Bought a used 4-cylinder standard Volvo wagon. Loved that car. Never gave me an ounce of trouble.

I'd be watching (in the long term) for leaking camshaft seals, rear mainseals if there's any similarity to the 850T5. Also, to-the-firewall-side mounted turbos will be very difficult to access as will most things in this engine bay. It looks like there was quite a leap forward from the 850 in quality. Good, proper and TIMELY maintenance will be an absolute must as it was with the 850 chassis. Some older BMW's are super reliable and simple compared to today's vehicles however this'd beat them hands down on safety issues. A very good, solid car but watch for front end complexity, weight & oil leaks...over time. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.

Theyr cost of ownership (revision) is somewhere around 50$/ year. The fuel consumption is around 6.0l / 100km mixed. The engines are boolet proof and can be easily converted to work on LGP instead of gas.

No turbo, no crappy camchain or GDi or variable valve timing or coils that blow out every 1,000 miles. The engine is bulletproof, no oil burning, one owner, good price and boy, does it drive nicely. French comfort in capital letters. Also the garage I bought it from is the Dutch equivalent of you. Honest to the bone. My 2010 XC 70 T6 still pulls like a Clydesdale and rides like a (real) Cadillac despite having 138,000 miles. Volvos age like fine wine. Also, despite living its entire life in the rust belt, there is no major surface rust. Excellent vehicle. Just to note, Volvo changed the recommended oil viscosity's over the years to meet fuel economy regulations despite not physically changing the engines internals. My owners manual for my 2010 XC70 states that the 3.0L T6 can use: 0w-30 synth 5w-30 synth or blend 0w-40 synth 5w-40 synth or bled The newer ones only recommend 5w-30 Highly recommend using the 0W-40 oil over the 5w-30 for maximum protection in southern climates. I currently use a 0w-40/5w-30 blend up in Northern NYS for performance driving and cold starting reasons. Edit: Proud to see that my wagon gets the "scotty seal of approval"!. Also, I don't mean to correct you scotty, but all Volvo 3.0L T6 engines only have 1 twin scroll turbo. Basically it acts like a twin turbo setup as there is no lag, but it uses only one impeller/turbine to do the job. Much more simpler and robust.

The P1800 wagon is the only mass produced car that never depreciated right from the showroom floor. If you look at a 2008-16 XCwagon, you will see the design of the rear hatch has inset into it the shape of the glass rear hatch of the 1800's. Most people think they just look good, but it's actually an exact throwback ~
