What an awesome video of such a beautiful family! I just love their simple and humble way of life and how content they are, not trying to keep up with anybody else. It makes one really question today's modern lifestyle and the stress and emptiness in our quest to own more and more stuff. We can be content and feel so blessed with all that God has bestowed upon us. More belongings doesn't translate into a happier lifestyle. Very thankful for you to show us other ways of living of people making it on so little.

I love Brackin and Lyndsey. I have one of their CDs and am waiting for more in the mail. I can't wait! Thank you for showing their tiny house. It is good to think outside the box. I am impressed that he thinks enough of his family to make a way for him to spend more time with them. Not every dad would do that.

FYI..gleaning is Biblical. In the Old Testament, people were requited to leave a certain amount of their crop for gleaners. This helped in feeding the poor.

In Germany we make foodsharing. We go to the stores and get all the groceries they can't sell anymore and which the "Tafel" is not allowed to sell. It is so much food that we have just like a little "store" where anyone can take it for free. In Germany a lot food is wasted! Sometimes there is one apple with a flaw in a whole bunch and they throw the whole bunch away! Or sausage from the butcher that is not in a vaccum wrap: The "Tafel" is not allowed to sell it for little price to the poor. So they throw it away, too. That' s very sad. But with foodsharing we share these food with others and save a lot of money. Per week we share about 300 kg food in our Fairteiler which means "fair- sharer"!

C0rrect. Here's the thing. We are all human here, no matter where we hie from. This is the editor within me. We are REQUIRED. requited means different. To say this in a way that others here, some will distort it. I've always preferred.... the intent matters more, but even then others would exploit the differences. You are brill miss Pool. This the way to gallant.

The house is not "tiny" in my opinion. It just has a low ceiling and a low number of bedrooms for a large family, but it is definitely cute and workable for a living space. I'm really impressed by the layout of the house that they built themselves and the organization of the kitchen. The backyard is very beautiful and amazing as well. It is a perfect area for young children to run around and play outside. Thanks for showing us aorund their home, Tawra!

SrirachaMom Most people talking about tiny houses, say that up to 500 sqf is still tiny. They fall just under that. It also depends on with how many people you live there. With soon 6 people I would still call this tiny!

I so enjoyed this video series, I've followed the 3 channels (living on a dime, sounds like reign & the fundamental home) for awhile & it was wonderful that you all collaborated to ask different questions & give us insight on how people from different walks of life but with the same goal in mind, live. I've wanted to live the tiny house way with a minimal homestead style for years but can't talk hubby into fully going this way....we compromise with having a small vegetable garden, make jams, chutneys, sauces & preserves & live frugally as possible. I live in sunny Queensland Australia & we have mild winters but incredibly hot long summers. Thanks again for these informative vlogs Tawra. 😃👍🏻

You seem surprised @ 10.50 by the apparent lack of kitchen utensils and appliances and how anybody could manage without those things. The truth is most people have way to much just stuff that they never use, it's a kind of hoarder mentality if you like. I have a toaster, kettle, stick blender and that's pretty much it in appliances. I am the dishwasher and when I want to mash potatoes or stir something on the stove or bake or cut something up, in short cook, (and that's seven days a week) I do those things by hand with spoons and whisks and knives. Its radical I know ;) but that's the way I learnt to cook and really if we don't teach our kids to use only the basics then what are we teaching them?
