Such hard workers,,,,,,when I was first married,,we bought a house with 12 broken panes in the windows,,,,needed painting,,,I ha d no fridge,no stove,,,it was in late May,,,we did the whole upstairs bedrooms,,,painted put in carpet,,,put the beds up,,tv,,and we lived upstairs for a few weeks until we finished the downstairs. We completely did the bathroom,,,fixed the plumbing,,,painted cleaned cleaned cleaned everything. Fixed the broken panes,,,painted the walls and woodwork. Then did the downstairs bedroom. Mostly we are sandwiches,,it was June and July,while we we working so too hot to cook,,,got buckets of chicken etc,,,and ate at mom’s. My husband was working full time ,,I was too, and I was pregnant,,with two young kids. We did it ,,,,,,,hard work but we made a home…. I know it’s hard work,,,but so worth it in the end. Now this really is Reality TV! It’s so different and original showing a grassroots renovation from the very beginning from the teenager’s point of view. Please be careful when scraping any of the old paint on ceilings etc, it may contain lead. Using a respirator, not a mask, will cut down the amount of paint dust you may be breathing in. 😉👍🏻💂♂️🇬🇧
given some hints this is central European Czech or Slovakia and at least the walls definitely would not be painted with paint containing lead, traditionally this would be done with lime paint, nowadays its more common to see silicate paint, as can be seen around 20 minutes in video. However I do agree with respirator as there can be lot of spores of different fungus.
At least where goggles or safety glasses and a mask. Most homes used oiled lead based paints. Might not seem important but it will be in time as you continue to restore. Do the same as you restore furniture. Your parents should be aware of this. Even your dog is of risk. It will silently make you ill. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

You should be using eye protection and masks when scraping the ceiling. I once got some drywall dust in my eye and ended up needing surgery. With the masks you want to keep those lungs nice and healthy. Love what you are doing and amazed at all you are able to do.
Enjoy the journey. That's what people look back on most fondly. You found a gem in that old farmhouse. It's a joy to see it get some love. I'm looking forward to seeing more. I love to see a young woman expanding her skill-set. I also love the doggy, who stole the show. I did worry about working on floorboards in sandals and sawing a plank held on one's lap.

So much potential for that house it's beautiful. Salvaging the kitchen cabinets looks great. Also I have to say the editing of the video and the transition of clips of film is great, it really elevates the series. Impressed and can't wait to watch more of this channel.
Thank you so much thats so kind. we are trying to salvage as much as we can in the small kitchen because its only going to be a temporary kitchen. it will stay there but one day we hope to make a bigger kitchen {that will become our main one} in the largest room in the house.

I'm in America. Not many kids here in my country are as well mannered and intelligent as you. I love to watch you work with your parents. When I was eight years old, my parents bought a 120 acre farm with a house in very bad condition, which they had to redo as you are doing. I never had a big involvement with renovating the house, but had to drive a very large truck in the hay fields as my parents could not afford to hire someone to do it, and I had no siblings to help. It wasn't easy, but I loved it! You are doing great with your videos!

The paint that lifted when your Mum painted it was likely Lime based “Chalk” or even possibly “Milk Paint.” We had a home built in the 50’s that we renovated, and our latex acrylic paint was just like a paint stripper for the milk paint on the walls and ceiling. It went back to bare plaster after we scraped it off with a paint scraper. Very frustrating and time consuming, but it worked. After the paint was stripped, we could finish it like normal, with a primer and finish coat. It will last for 100 years. It’s a process. Stick with it! You are doing great.

We call it a hardware store here in America. It does sound like an odd name though now that I think about it. I've worked for Lowes for near 6 1/2 years now and we are a major retail hardware store. I'm glad a beautiful, young lady like yourself has such a great work ethic!

Nice channel, nice project but most importantly a nice family! It's great to see you all working together to turn a derelict building into a home that you will be proud of. Be prepared for negative reactions and just ignore them, these are not worth responding to. We have a saying in the Netherlands: "Look at everything and keep the good". As with most houses you probably will never be finished (there is always something to do) but you will see that you get more and more joy from every little job that's completed. Face the road ahead of you with confidence and look at the road behind you with satisfaction.

You are a great helper to parents. Your at the age to really help with your own ideas. I must say the place is ruff and you all do not have everything you really need with you right now. But I praise you all for inventive nature. I beg you and family to use protection when working. Must wear mask and eye protection. So many things could harm the health and set everything going backwards. I will follow along your adventure.

I've done 5 renovations in the past in the UK and Wales but our latest one in Normandie has been the mother of all renovations, so I know how painfully slow and tedious it can sometimes feel. I enjoyed this video because it is shown from the young lady's perspective, which I've not seen before, and was impressed by the fact that she was so hands on and doing better than some adults I've seen! Well done!

Tip: wear a respirator mask when sanding and /scraping/painting. It’s SO IMPORTANT. There is a good chance there is lead in the paint in such an old house, not to mention the sawdust that easily gets in to lungs without respiratory when sanding.
