F4 is the F stop I though. How open the aperture is. The lens he is using looks like it probably drops to a F3.5. A slightly higher shutter speed would have also worked.

Although Tim essentially kidnapped and indoctrinated someone else’s son as his own, it’s oddly wholesome how he also accepted the others including Eric without questions asked. Sure he makes them wear khakis and Bluetooths but there is no ulterior motive other than making his kids happy and spending time with them.

F4 is gonna be shit for that picture. In mid day sun like that, I wouldn't want to go less than F8 and even that seems a bit big. Especially since there's so many faces in the portrait. Probably have better luck with F11 or so.
