gd review, just want to ask: 1) how is this Car of the Year - when you don't see any on the road? how does your COTY system work mind me asking. 2) no review of the rear legroom space? 3) competitors which are cheaper -> Opel Insignia / Toyota Camry / Skoda Superb , they should be considered for Family Sedan COTY - in my opinion as budget friendly. nonethless nice review. striking and unique car. head turner.
Thanks for your question, there are various factors that go into our Car of The Year criteria, including a majority public voting factor, and they can be found here: www.sgcarmart.com/coty2021/about.php - Jay
few impt parts are missing... the price, rear seats, wireless chargers, apple car play/android auto, bin/glove box spaces, trunk features. no wonder. at 187k, i would rather buy something more economical & use the balance cash to get a proper massage chair for home use... a quick glance of the rear leg room space is rather pathetic for such a mid-size sedan.
Personally I don’t get why people go for SUVs if they’re not going off road, except that the higher driving position is beginner friendly. I’ve seen many arguments that it’s “technically safer” when in a car vs car crash. But the fact is in most accidents SUVs have a much higher chance to flip over, either due to imbalance or during collisions. (Remember the video of a Range Rover hitting a Yaris?) And then there are the trade offs relative to sedans.. stiffer suspension.. body lean.. aerodynamics and fuel economy, stability at speed and when turning…. Sedans for me please.
@@badboi888 Of course it's easier, it's easier even if someone is just 1.6m. If you find it that hard to do because of age or handicap, I understand. But most people wouldn't need that, but still got for SUVs anyway cause it's a trend.
A few of my peers who have started/ are starting families are attracted to the size, space, and heights of an SUV for young and old family members. - Jay
@@slayergut i dont know why but being in a suv feels generally safer than a sedan 😅. but for styling, sedan is always the winner. own a volvo xc60 and it's always a joy to ride this rather bulky beast.
One thing you guys ought to include is real world resale depreciation if you do not drive to 10 years. I still feel that SG car reviewers are still being very Politically Correct, trying hard not to offend the Car Agents. In fact, there are some PI models that you guys don’t ever review that sold so well… example Honda Odyssey Hybrid?
Hi Mesaux, we are only able to review what we are able to get our hands on. Parallel import cars are usually a lot more restrictive and aren't able to be test driven nor loaned out, so it is a lot harder to acquire a unit for review, which would have to include minimally a day or two for the reviewer to drive well, getting to know the car and its quirks. That being said, we are in the works of creating more used car reviews that will be able to speak to issues such as resale value and upkeep issues, so do keep a look out on our channel as well as our TikTok channel where you can catch clues of what's upcoming. - Jay
@@sgcarmartreviews Thanks Jay! Appreciate this, I feel that some PI are quite receptive to have their cars featured especially when they are the sole dealer for a certain model! I feel you can refer to Carwow and Autotrader, they are the gold standard for car reviews right now!
The Aisin gearbox will last forever because it's Japanese. Best of luck for everything else after the 3rd year. I have to admit, it looks very sleek and sporty.
What a ridiculous statement. Peugeot has always featured at least one saloon car in its line up for decades Am sure they had no motivation to copy a Johnny-come-lately CLA. If you have lived with Peugeot, you will notice design cues from the 505 and the 406 as well as the 504.
Love the rolling shots of the 508. Car looks fantastic. Any idea if the 508 comes with heated and ventilated seats, surround view camera and auto parking?
car is out in 2018... only in 2021 then arrived in singapore, hopefully there is a facelift version for this and AutoFrance will bring it in before it become another outdated model
