It is from DNA. No one need to search for them as they can easy be distinguish between others . EVen though one have been born in the same family tree and f ex been raised in other environments and became a shaker-than that is not called a family. Depends where you live and how you are affected by surroundings.

I just discovered this site and am dismayed that people that are in no way shape or form connected to my family are creating and attaching information- wrong information- on entries for my ancestors. It made me want to just delete everything because these people are screwing things up for me. Why are they working on people who are not their family? Am I missing something?

It can be frustrating but crowd-sourcing the building of the family tree for all of humanity has massive amounts of plusses. We forget how many cousins we have out there who share the same amount of right to their ancestors as we do, but I get it, it can get messy! Sites like Ancestry and others exist for your own private trees. This site is different and you can find photos, stories, and documents that cousins uploaded you'd never find any other way.
