A walrus came to the Finnish shores this Summer. Walrus aren't native to Finland and so it was a big media spectacle as people followed its antics. And then the bugger died...

He's not famous in Finland. I know he's from Finland, but Finns dont know about him. I saw him by accident on yt.

Saying the true name of bear is said to call it to you, so you use roundabout ways and nicknames to speak about it. This was a very common belief, even the word "bear" is said to come from the old word meaning "brown". "Karhu" is speculated to come from a words "Karhea kauhu" "rough horror". In the Old Times, I think the true name was actually "otso" the same name we have for a star formation? Also, we had a thing called "karhun peijajaiset" where we danced and drunk around a recently killed bear's skull... perhaps your uncle is trying to imitate that?
