I didn't like it because it feel like a forced cliffhanger, I swear they could do everything in 1 season mini series style now they are gonna streach this story untill it loses all its great quality , I just don't want another Lost situation
@@RED01SEA that’s fair but I don’t think it’s bad for a series to leave questions to be answered in season 2. I like cliffhangers personally but I guess I understand if you don’t. They’re certainly bad when the series doesn’t get picked up. Not Ben Stiller, he’s the director. Dan Erickson who created and wrote the series.
I was so excited when I heard the Heaven on Their Minds riff at the beginning. Peak 70s musical! Tituss does a great impression of Carl Anderson with "MELISSAAA"
I loved that this number stayed in the same style throughout. Mostly Jesus Christ Superstar but there were some subtle Evita references thrown in the "Fame" section. but still all early Andrew Lloyd Weber.
Titus’s eyes at the very end of the song are everything! He can say more with one look than some people say with 100 words! Same with the ending of “Busting Out” when Josh escapes his cell…Titus gives one ominous look at the camera and it’s 🔥!
I've never been a big fan of the type of role he's parodying (Leading Player, Emcee, etc), so I wasn't expecting to enjoy his songs much this season. I was so glad to be proven wrong. He makes the part work so much better than I'd thought was possible!
1:27 The poor narrator looks like he's on the verge of saying "I can't work with these people.....I'll be in my dressing room..." (I know the expression is usually "I'll be in my trailer" but he seems more like a dressing room man than a trailer man).

I hope it gets renewed for a third season and will have a new couple while Josh and Melissa will be recurring characters that’ll be mainly in the new couple’s flashbacks.
@@goodial it's 10 years or so and Melissa and Josh are taking their kid to their first matinee performance for their school musical. The stress on all 3 of them are making them a bundle of nerves (Melissa and Josh on being good parents, their kid having stage fright). However, they get stuck in traffic, and by the time they cross the bridge into Manhattan, they realise they're not in the New York they know... They're in Schmavenue Q, Washington Schmeights.

Something I just noticed. The part at 1:25 the lady in the lower right, clearly making reference to Joanne from "Company", is singing (i think) "everybody down" and "I want to wear a hat." 😆
I’m fairly sure it’s supposed to be a company reference? If you listen for what she’s singing in the overlapping sections it’s all references to ‘the ladies who lunch’ “Let’s all drink to that Everybody dies, And no one wears a hat, I’ll drink to that”
I wonder if Josh and Melissa will have a choice to either stay in Schmicago or leave and in addition choose to have separate lives. They will always love each other but I think they realized they've settled down a litte too fast and haven't lived how either of them wanted to which is the true happiness both of them seek
I think they are gonna stay together. They're clearly still in love. I think this has given them some purpose though. And next season, if there is one, will be Into the Woods era. So I'll bet their next challenge will be having a baby.
I think the twist will be that all the people were also on a couples retreat and trapped there too. Like Dove and Aaron were a couple and they'll self realize soon along with others, and that's when the atmosphere will reset and send them all to Schmiserables
I have a theory Joanne is actually Daisy; taking inspiration from The Beggar Woman/Lucy in Sweeney Todd, due to the double date scene Joanne says her famous line out screen for the first time - which seems intentional.
This is drivng me bonkers.. the part start @2:27 were everyone has the overlapping parts-- they're nOT repeating the same lines as before. the Barfly starts with "I'll drink to that" "twice, but then sings "Everybody dies? Then who wears the hat?". And I can tell that the other folks are singing other things too. but even knockin out titus' vocals from the center I still can't tell what Kratt is singing or anyone else. Help me!

Miss Codwell: Oh they’re good enough, they’re good enough, they’re good enough, ahhhh Topher: At some point he does say “someone stole my doorway” and “I’ve gotta find my doorway” but I can’t make out the rest “Joanne” stand-in character: “Yes I’ll drink to that. Everybody dies. *you know it*. I’ll drink to that” Narrator: “It starts with just a taste. But then needs to be fed. And suddenly the dreams you chased, are chasing you instead.” Sorry if any of this is wrong, it’s just what I can hear :)

If there will be a 3rd season, I wonder if it will be on modern times now, like maybe inspired by Rent, Dear Evan Hansen, Book of Mormons, Mamma Mia, Hairspray. Which might be boring and hard to connect every story? Another musical category that would be interesting to explore would be Fantasy/Fairy Tales Broadway, like Wicked, Into the Woods, Anastasia, Cinderella, and other Disney musicals. But might need a higher budget to film.
I think 2 more seasons would be good. An 80s/90s season 3 covering the big spectacle musicals like phantom, wicked, and les mis, and a modern musical season 4 with the pop musicals, jukebox musicals, inventive and wayy different musicals (like hadestown), and mel brooks/Mormon style comedy musicals.
