Jimmy got his wings, i love all his movies. What a great person . will never be another Jimmy Stewart , i remember in 1997 of Jimmy Stewart passing it was my worst years of mine . with bankruptcy and closing my repair shop and relocating 2 county away to start a new live from leaving a corrupt palm beach county , Florida . im doing good now and living a less stressful life but being older now and have lost a lot of my family members and close friends also its sad but its life you can only go on and make the best of your life. I reminisce the name of people and friends but i don't like to visit any cemetery it just puts me back into a memory which i get all tore up from missing the presence of that person and their life. R.I.P. Jimmy Stewart i still watch all the re-runs .

Years ago I sat stunned while watching this movie for the first time. I felt I'd made a huge mistake moving back to my rural hometown to work where honestly; my grandfather and dad had been president of a small community bank. I loved the story so well I got Jimmy's address (from one of those public Hollywood address books) and wrote to tell him how much it meant to me. He actually wrote back...a personalized card which he composed a few sentences and signed. I'll keep it til I die. If you watch it several times you'll see something new each time. Brilliant screenplay. One more thought few ppl know about. The cab driver and policeman that were in several scenes were named Bert and Ernie, which was where the names for the two Sesame Street show puppets came from.

My all time favorite Christmas movies !!! Before my Dad passed away , I was the daughter who did all his decorating and undecorating every holiday ..including the week after he died January 9th , took down all his decorations knowing it was the last time I couod do that for him. I was 5 mths pregnant w a very risk pregnancy too . Anyways , every year it took me weeks to decorate and we always shared the movie together In fact, the day he died unexpectedly, I was in a store and found an ornament that was a pair of Angel wings and tiny bell on it with the famous line about it. I bought it to bring my dad. He never even got to see it. Hours later, he died and now I hold that cheap little ornament so dear to me. I hang that ornament every year FIRST and say the famous line. Knowing I have a very special angel that watches over me, still decorating with alot of my dads treasures too. Friends and family are always amazed by my decorating skills and how my Dad surely can see my heavily lit tree from Heaven and I know he is proud of me. Hard for me to watch the movie still cause it still makes m cry remembering our special moments together. Dad has been gone 20 years soon and I miss him more and more every year ❤...

"Frank Capra's classic film It's A Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey takes place in the fictional town of Bedford Falls, but some say it's a dead ringer for Seneca Falls in upstate New York. "I really believe this is what inspired Capra.Dec 9, 2016." Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu, comes here every year for the "It's a Wonderful Life Festival". Thankyou for this video 👍🏻 I'm not that old but I honestly do think, the actors of today have nothing on the real movie stars, of yester year. Uncle Billy is drunk he exits stage right just as he is out of view, a loud crashing noise is heard. An extra tripped over some lighting equipment and the noise was unplanned-but completely made the scene. Uncle Billy yells, "I'm alright, I'm alright". Frank Capra loved the sound accident so much, he left it in the movie and gave the extra a raise. Geoffry was just using that scene, playing on that quote, to honor Uncle Billy's contribution to the movie. And like other actors one special quote they had in a movie can be found on their gravesite. This is such a time. It should indeed read..."I'm alright, I'm alright". * I appreciated your wit Geoffry. One of the best movies period of all-time, not just a Christmas classic! I believe that the actresses who portrayed Janie and Zuzu, George and Mary Bailey's daughter's, are the only cast members still with us. BTW, Mr. Gower's son died of influenza, not in WWII. That was later in the movie as George was 4-F due to his deaf ear while his brother Harry became a war hero. Fun fact, the scene where George angrily drops the phone and declares his love for Mary much to her mother's dismay, was shot in one take. Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed actually left out about 2 pages of dialogue from the original script, but Frank Capra liked the result so much that he kept it as is as the final cut! Also, the characters Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street were named after Bert the cop (Ward Bond) and Ernie the cab driver (Frank Faylen) in It's A Wonderful Life:-)

My favorite movie. I watch it throughout the year not just at Christmas time. I have a wreath with the Angel wings quote, a bailey building and loan plus made an ornament holding roses with "zuzu's petals" on it. Last Christmas I was gifted a very large movie poster advertising the movie. It hangs in my hallway all year as a reminder. Next year I plan to creat a sign that says "you are now entering Bedford Falls" Thank you for the post. Merry Christmas!

Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor of all time. There was just something so natural, it’s not really acting, he just was the character. Spencer Tracy, probably my second favorite actor, had that same gift. I love It’s A Wonderful Life. I’ve watched my old copy so much, will need to get a new one before the Holidays. 😁

One of my favorite character actors appears in It's a Wonderful Life. Charles Lane is in a scene, as a man explaining to Mr Potter how his rental income is down because many of his former tenants are buying homes thanks to the Bailey Building and Loan. He leaves saying he expects to be applying for a job with George Bailey at some time in the future. Charles Lane appeared in many other Frank Capra movies and I will always remember him as Homer Bedlow in the '60s TV series Pettycoat Junction. Charles Lane lived to be 102 and is buried in Colma, CA.

While scrolling through RU-vid I came across this video. Before hitting play I paused and thought “am I really going to watch a video about actors graves? “. I’m glad I got past that moment of self doubt because I really enjoyed it! My favorite scenes are when Mary Hatch, as a girl, whispers her evermore affection to young George... in his bad ear! Also the phone scene with George and Mary when they were both absolutely bursting and then ultimately just couldn't contain declaring their love for each other. Of course the whole ending has one impassioned, poignant chestnut after another. James Stewart's nuanced look right after his brother's toast to him is the sign of a brilliant actor. Just the way that George and Mary look at each other in those ending scenes. So beautifully executed. The whole movie is, to me, a cinematic "oil painting."

There's a great scene from a movie he was in called Hitler: Dead or Alive, where he played as a gangster who joined in the war effort to kill Hitler and get some money as a reward. He was in an American bomber that was getting attacked by a Luftwaffe fighter, then Ward Bond grabbed a Tommy gun and shot the plane out of the air. It my be unrealistic as Hell, but that was a very badass scene. Fun fact: Bobby Watson, the actor who played Hitler in the film, played Hitler in nine other films, all of which where propaganda films in where Hitler loses or dies at the end.

I think that Steve did a fantastic job here. He presented this in a loving, gentle way; so there is no unearthly or macabre feeling at all. I am a drummer, singer, and radio announcer. I recently did a podcast presenting the Lux Radio Theatre radio adaptation of this classic movie. Also, when the ladies interrupted his video, Steve had such a nice, good natured reaction to it all, which I appreciated. This shows, to me, that he is a kind, charitable person. Anyway, I really think that this video is superb.
