Not sure if this is due to Canadian laws in regulations, but on Kraken I was unable to hit the sell button, put in a stop loss or anything that was above 10k. Im verified for no restrictions when I look at my account. Funny how that literally was coincidentally the recent top too. I had to withdraw everything and use a different exchange. I personally think something shady was going on even then
I think they deserved more than $500K to be honest. $3M is probably reasonable considering the amounts going through the main KYC player. But to go this route alone seems odd and they ought have gone black hat and taken $10M or per person that discovered this very high level hole. Keep calm everyone. Kraken, get it together and pay a proper amount and these freaks will truly go hunting for more. Now they are your enemy?! We are supposed to reward the good guys. The bad guys would have walked way with who knows how much. That’s serious.
All centralized servers online can be hacked. Their security is just a bandaid. Never leave your wealth on a centralized server, and never trust a politician who suggests otherwise or tries to make it law. Bitcoin's decentralized nature provides far superior security. That's your lesson for the day.
Can I cash out or transfer serious amount of dollars to my bank from a decentralized exchange? No Decentralized exchanges are just to trade altcoin “fan” coins. So stop saying that centralized exchanges are bad. They are the only official gates to bitcoin.
Thanks for posting this. I want to scream this all the time. Very few places accept crypto for payment and purchases. I guess these people never want to actual use their gains from their crypto. With Sim Swapping, I don't do any banking or crypto on my phones. So, I am not sure how I am supposed to even use my crypto for purchases. Crypto is just too dangerous, confusing, and difficult for normal people to use right now. It really needs more development to be easier and safer for everyone to use.
