my choir teacher said voice cracks/breaks are normal and that sometimes its hard for people to do it, every time I sing I have voice breaks too soo theres nothing wrong with that & besides it makes the singing more beautiful.

These singers are doing controlled cracks/breaks. A crack/break happens when the vocal cords temporarily lose function during the change from the modal register (the vocal range of your speaking voice) to a higher register such as falsetto or whistle. There are times when a singer is not doing it intentionally and ends up with a bad note because they can't transition between registers smoothly and end up on the wrong note during the shift. But there are ways to control it so that it makes a snap sound intentionally done, which sounds awesome to most people. M.C. made it popular in the 90's by doing it multiple times in a song as somewhat of a signature along with her ability to hit past her falsetto into the high-pitched trill which is called the whistle register. SIa is famous for it as her signature move when singing and owns that shit like a boss! And because technical terminology can confuse people, to clarify, I will make a comparison people might understand better. Think about a car, there are gears, as you accelerate the pitch increases, and when driving a stick shift, if you don't shift at a certain time the gear can slip and the transition point gives a sound that you can hear that is not pleasant. Imagine a controlled vocal break/crack to be like driving a stick and giving a hard shift so that you hear an obvious change in gears instead of a smooth transition between gears.

Since I started singing - I was around 5 or 6 - my voice naturally "broke" like this. It has for the past 10 through 11 years. It's become a trademark of mine here at school. Sometimes I don't even feel or hear it, but it works really well with all the songs I sing. Especially when I'm in one of my school's musical productions

I feel that Rihanna and Mariah have the more naturally-sounding breaks. Rihanna's singing voice just has that quality. Mariah is more because of her disconnect from her head and chest voice.

Normally when their voices break they would make a funny face but these breaks in their voices are intentional to make their voice change key which adds more personality to their singing

That's a deliberate technique, not an accident. It's created by putting a slight cry into the onset of the sound. These singers don't actually have unintentional breaks because they paid thousands of dollars to work with a singing teacher to get rid of them. That said, the voice can crack when the singer is tired, and those touring schedules are ridiculously unhealthy for even the most talented or trained singer.
