Out of all the books in Genshin Impact, Before Sun and Moon is by far the most important. This book changed everything we knew about the history of Teyvat - a time before the rule of the seven archons.
This video is an animated interpretation of the events that led up to the fall of the vishap sovereigns, the rise of humanity, and the fate of Enkanomiya as told in the book Before Sun and Moon. Please keep in mind that the content of this video may differ from the actual Genshin timeline.

Loremaster and animator? Awesome! Art style and coloring really helps to give that "origins" vibe. Also great work with the music syncronization. A friendly sugestion would be to reduce a bit the tittle of the video, since it's a bit big/redundant. What you think of just "Teyvat Secret Story - part 1"? It already gives the whole message and it combos with the tumbnail.

Seeing this made me remember how I really wanted to have something like this in the game :( Genshin has such a great lore, but it's so painful to read. Had to skip entire quest lines in Inazuma because of how long they were going around, and after Scara quest I really regret that, because I didn't pay attention to Tatara Tales or some other wall of texts

If the 2nd Throne was really that powerful, it would have lasted longer than the sovereigns against the primordial one, but the 2nd Throne was defeated in a very short amount of time

Here it was told that some of the dragons surrendered. Is it possible that zhongli is one of the dragon sovereigns or a survivor of the war with the primordial one? Then he is likely one of the descenders since he existed before teyvat (There was a rite of descension in liyue which is a huge hint). It will also explain why he asks the traveller to be the witness of teyvat's history. He also spends a lot of time listening to stories which I suspect is most likely him checking if history has changed or not.

Not a bad theory but there is one flaw, abd that is that Zhongli forgot about Rukkhadevata just like the other archons, so he is probably not a descender otherwise he would remember her

Zhongli isn't a vishap tho, and I don't think he has connection with them. It's azhdaha who's a dragon king, lord of geovishap, has connection with leyline, older than mountains and oceans, his lifespan is the same with the earth itself, his age is far exceeding mankind. So according to that, I think Azhdaha is one of the 7 sovereigns, maybe the reason why azhdaha was blind and lived underground (before meeting morax) was because phanes defeated him.

@Average Moss Enjoyer Zhongli’s character story still states that only 2 of the remaining 7 still rule. If he did forget, he would've still counted Nahida as the Dendro Archon/ from the get-go.

@@Star-id7hd char story isn't character's memories tho. Characters memories/ pov are in voice over. In the description in the char story, the character is described as the 3rd person.

@@mukil2399 even if it's a post or after the quest it should've changed like in traveller's story 'about beliefs' section is completely removed and most nahida stories hv been altered too. The folio of foliage is a physical book which was written before aq, in that book a large number of description has been changed to remove any occurrence of rukhadeveta
