RSPW Rewind makes its triumphant return, revisiting what the internet wrestling community was talking about years ago. Episode 35 features one fan wondering if anything could SAVE the upcoming Summerslam match between Triple H and the returning Shawn Michaels... why do wrestlers SPIT so much and is it true that amateur wrestlers spit as a way of losing weight (no, really)... one fan says WCW Thunder is no longer his favorite show and he's sick and tired of Goldberg squash matches... why did WCW allow Hulk Hogan to "screw them" by granting him full creative control in his contract?... a rant on Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler's commentary... hero worship of Dave Meltzer and one fan in 1995 who days the Observer is suffering because Dave is OVERWORKED!

@@tthomaselli2 hi! I don’t know where the music is from. I’m guessing it’s some public domain tune Solomonster chose for this. Maybe he or a buddy composed it in fruity loops lol. If you record a sound bite and use one of those name that song apps it could have some hits!

As we've seen from Solomonster's previous RSPW rewinds, RSPW always seems to be in its own alternate universe of wrestling fandom. HBK was definitely the babyface in that feud.

Shawn actually spoke on the low expectations in an interview going into the match. Everyone saw the safe looking Pedigree that HHH gave him during the build and assumed he couldn't bump, so Shawn took a flat back bump from on I think the go home Raw almost as a reassurance, and a lot of people went nuts online. It's a classic, but no one really knew what to expect going in.

Having spent way too much time on RSPW in the mid-90's (or "R-Spew" as some in our groups of friends would refer to it), I am shocked and somewhat intrigued that someone is actually going through all of the ramblings we posted back in the day. I'll always remember how HHH was an absolute darling of the IWC at one point (go look at how pissed they were on RSPW when Ultimate Warrior squashed him at Wrestlemania after the "Curtain Call"), but then became the Devil once he won the WWF Title for the first time. And the Smart Marks haven't changed at all in the ensuing 25 years!

I've been watching channel for years now and have always enjoyed its content but I must say that RSPW is by far my favorite segment. From the music to the nostalgic wrestling talk. Especially the WCW threads. I miss the Monday Night War when wrestling was must-see TV. Every week something awesome happened.

Absolutely as an amateur wrestler we had to chew gum and spit to help make weight!!! We also had to wear Hefty bags as we ran laps in 100 degree+ California sun! Crazy, but 100% true!!! I always felt the gum/spitting was more of a punishment than results oriented, Lol!!!

I was not hip to this kinda stuff growing up. Can someone explain what RSPW is? I'm assuming some type of chat room? Was it a unified site, or is this just random stuff from different areas in the intenret. Edit: i have looked it up to see answers, and not really getting concrete answers on google

A) I never see this Triple H v HBK match circa 2002 mentioned on any retro video as a great match. I don't even remember it ever happening. B) WWE lost 41% of its 18-49 audience from 2001 to 2003 so, yeah, this match wasn't over with fans. Ratings in the 2000s dropped in years that Triple H had the belt and went back up in the subsequent year. That happened twice. The IWC spread a false narrative when doing these retro reviews, "People loved it. The crowd went wild." The paying crowd popping for something doesn't equate to an increased, or for that matter even a sustained, interest in the product or wrestlers featured. The crowd in 2021 is going to pop for the current WWE product, does that make your critiques on the current product a ridiculous false narrative? The paying crowd likes it..
