The Doctor's regeneration count is a much debated point, but could some of the more recent regeneration have been more straight forward than it seemed?
Any ideas or theories discussed in these videos are purely my own interpretation of things that I personally like to think of as canon, and I do not speak for anyone other than myself in these videos.
I am not suggesting these theories are official canon or that anyone else should accept them as canon, unless they wish to do so, please respect my personal opinions/ideas/theories even if you do not agree with them.

My theory is when the Time Lords turned the Doctor back into a baby that gave him a limit of 12 regenerations, it makes sense because the time lords wouldn’t want to risk the Doctor wondering around after he regenerated for the 13th time and trying to find out why he didn’t die, plus it probably changed his DNA to gallafryen

That's sort of where my thinking goes too and a lot of the evidence seems to suggest that to be the case too!

At this point, we don't even know if the Doctor has a limit for regenerations anymore. However while I agree that the regeneration energy from the Cyber-Masters made the Doctor's current count remain the same, it could have also added even more regenerations to the unknown amount they already have. Assuming that during The Time of the Doctor, the Time Lords granted the 11th Doctor a new cycle of 12 regenerations. Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor was the first in the new cycle, then Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor was the second. That leaves 10 remaining regenerations without the whole Timeless Child stuff, and the energy from the Cyber-Masters added even more to the count. Rassilon in Hell Bent was unsure on how many regenerations the Doctor was granted, which could mean that the Doctor could regenerate infinitely from now on, regardless of how they occur (Like the Master forcing a regeneration in Power of the Doctor). That's probably how it's going to be so they don't have to tackle the Doctor running out of regenerations once again.

I agree that there is not definitive way of knowing until it's stated on screen, however as stated, I will be going into this more in a future video, but I think it's makes more sense to assume it's just another cycle rather than "unlimited". People have latched onto this idea of The Doctor now having infinite regenerations when there is actually very little evidence to support it, and if anything MORE evidence disproving it. I'd also say that if anything I'd say that removing the concept of a regeneration limit from The Doctor is is unlikely to happen because it would actually be detrimental to the character. If they did that it means The Doctor basically become immortal and therefore has no reason to fear the end of their incarnations. Part of the jeopardy of regeneration is not knowing what is going to happen both for the character and the audience.

The Doc’s regeneration is complicated.

Interesting video as always! Really like the loom idea too, makes sense that reversing the regeneration would cancel out the energy used or just give it back to the doctor. Now this might not be intentional but if the doctor did use up 2 regenerations wouldn't david tennant be called the 16th doctor or at least 15th because one would be the doctor anyway, probably nothing but mybe that could count towards your theory?

I think the loom idea works well, so defiantly what I like to think of as canon As for the naming then that would remain the same as that's done on the basis of what The Doctor considers themselves to be rather than actual regeneration count. i.e. The Doctor doesn't count The War Doctor as "The Doctor" because he rejected the name so that's why The Ninth Doctor is The Ninth rather than The Tenth. Another example is why The Tenth Doctor after The Stolen Earth regeneration still calls himself The Tenth Doctor because he's the same person, whereas in regeneration terms he's actually the twelfth incarnation. The same would apply here as The Thirteenth Doctor as even if she used up two regenerations, she didn't count The Master/Doctor as "The Doctor" so going on from her, her next incarnation is The Fourteenth. I actually did a video a few years ago on how the count system (most logically) works, although I do plan on doing an updated version soon. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qGNHu5RJwmw.html

When a Timelord retro regenerates do they retain their original personality or the personality of the previous incarnation

From what's been seen/heard/shown in previous narratives, it's an entire change, both in form and personality.

Do you think Dr who will ever come to end I hope not though

It's highly unlikely it will ever have an ACTUAL end. It'll probably eventually go off screens again like the classic series did but doubtless it'll eventually get brought back again too
