SRM is now offering a kit that means you don't need to pull wheel apart to install as it plugs directly on existing plug. I'm moving from CSL DD to VRS and after already converting my McLaren gt3 v2 with SMZ shifters and custom vinyl from liongp the cost of the kit is worth it. The other good thing about new kit is you can easily transfer it between any fanatec wheel that uses the QR1 system 😉

Came here for the simucube 2 conversion, only saw a picture of the website and a link. Would be nice if you actually went into detail about it, about the conversion works and what are the downsides etc. Because its only about the paddle shifters. Should rename the video about how to add new paddles to the mclaren V2....

I really like my McLaren V1. Problem is I can feel it popping, cracking and flexing when I use it with my DD2. Its a shame they don't have a version that's better suited for a dd system.

Good video but in this range of prices, I think that the BMW rim (fanatec) is better. The reason is the materials and quick release. The paddles are upgradeable too. Really the two options are good, it depends of preferences and design

Hi, thanks for the video, to me there's other problem and it's not the shifters, i really like the rocker, for endurance races it's a big pros you can upshift or downshift on the same side, the problem to me its the plastic noises and feel that came with a DD base when you make fast moves, but i understand cause the price point, because of these i bought a Formula V2 and i think that's the wheel to get if you have a DD, it's a bit small and more expensive, but it's a lot better on construction and easy shifters magnetic mod, i have mine for sale, but i don't care if i don't sell it, maybe i will start a collection just like you. :D I would like to see a mod to make the shell more stronger, and stop the torsion and noises. But this wheel to me its really spotted on size, even the rubber grips are ok . too bad they don't make a clubsport or a podium of these wheel.

I am considering pre-ordering the new Fanatec DD 0.5 with the power upgrade. I estimate to cost me around €700 (which i can currently afford) with a wheel including shipping and will save up another 600 to get an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset. I currently have a DFGT and one single 24" screen and really believe that is a really limiting factor. Now in your opinion is it worth the upgrade or should I save up an extra salary (which will take quite some time) and get myself a simucube 2 pro. There's no point I think to get a DD wheel without good vision. I value you opinion more than others tbh because i feel we are on a similar wavelength in terms of communication (balcans i guess :P )

So this wheel is strong enough for a direct drive (VRS) Im afraid of flexing and creaking noises. Nice video by the way

Im a little slow and new to sim racing, currently trying to build my first setup and am wanting to buy the right things once so I only cry once as well lol.. Im looking at the simucube 2 pro but as you said in the vid I will not have any money left after this.. All the wheels for simucube are insane expensice. Do I have to swap the shifters to make this fanatec wheel work or just install the conversion kit from SRM? Thanks
