What fanatec is doing right now is appalling! They could handle this "situation" soooo much better, but they choose to leave all their customers in the dark for being so greedy and accepting so many orders when they must have known they couldn't fulfill them all, also canceling completed transactions is royally messed up! I think they need to give daily updates, honor all their sales, make an apology and the CEO should step down. This was be happening for quite a while before black friday also. I hope a ton of people see your video, all your statements are the truth!
Thank you for your comment, and yes I agree, besides being sneaky, they were greedy with all the Black Friday issues, it was more than certain that they would run out of stock and any diligent manager would have guessed.
Sorry to hear about the problems everyone has had. I guess I'm lucky, my order was on time and customer service was great. The qr1 would click a little, but a small piece of aluminum tape in the key way slot on the shaft fixed that.
Ordered some stuff on November 25th and I’m still waiting and I’ve emailed them twice trying to change something in my order and still haven’t heard from them. Will never order again from them.
Lots of people complaining about their orders, I guess that they went uncontrollable with the Black Friday sales, it's what I call taking a step longer than their legs allow. No other option but to wait, because for sure your money already on their bank account.
Hi! I saw the video you posted 3 months ago and I have the same problem with my wheel at 30 days from the purchase. I would like to know if during this time you have used the QR2 did the wheel disconnect by any chance? I have to know in order to decide whether to buy QR 2 or not. Thank you .
From when I had to talk to customer service for my DD1 Podium from last year from Black Friday, they were pretty good from my experience. Of course I’m from the US so I would only get 1 email a day. But anyways, I couldn’t connect my Podium wheel to my computer to update the firmware. Turns out, it was an issue with Windows 11 not detecting it and needing a computer that had windows 10 on it since the wheel was do far outdated with the firmware that you were forced to download 437 to set everything to one firmware then to update to 487. Should have never been shipped like that. Spent 2 weeks troubleshooting the issues and I had to send the first podium back. I honestly never had an issue with my QR1 and had it for 1 year now. I did buy the QR2 for when I buy a new wheel one day, I will upgrade it. The thing is, if they won’t warranty the product if it wasn’t at the exact nm for torque, they should come with a tool to do that. I don’t want to go out and spend $300 for a device that can go that low which is just hand tight specs.
Thank you for your comment and I'm happy that you did not have problems with QR1 (or QR1 Lite???). Also the fact that you state that your interaction with the US part of Fanatec was good, it is good and maybe should be an example to be followed by the European headquarters. Once again, thanks and happy sim racing.
I will never buy fanatec, all my friends have problems. They say it is the best and I believe them, but the quality of their products is not how it should be, especially for that price.
I have been looking for a new manu' for my sim gear having been with TM for my T300 base but i need better now. Thanks to this honest video, I will spend the extra money to get Simagic or Moza going forward. Hate dishonest shitty companies.
Hi, thanks for your query and sorry for the slow reply. Yes indeed all the problems were reaolved and never had anything happen anymore, which, in my himbke opinion, supports my argument for a defect on the QR1 Lite design.
I got my shlt in 6 days. Australia... Mind you it was 650+ bucks for the most basic CSL DD bundle with postage. Loving the hardware, but I hate that this is happening to others
Sad to hear your story. I am lucky as I have never had a problem with the plastic QR1 on my McLaren GT3 v2 wheel, CSL DD. I eventually replaced it with a metal QR1. It goes without saying that the plastic QR1 is a cheap component and this reflects on the price of the McLaren GT3 v2 wheel which is a real bargain. You get what you pay for. About the customer experience I feel your pain, I think they are just overwhelmed and their organization is not big enough to sustain the amount of orders. Also, I have lived in China for 12 years and I don't remember being able to buy Fanatec gear over there, so you may be outside of their support scope. Honestly if I were in your shoes I would have gone for a Chinese brand like Moza or Simagic as I would have got much cheaper prices and direct support. Good luck.
4 weeks later my friend still waiting on his QR1 upgrade form theire Beverely Hills Warehouse. Currently in Email Wars with them. You just need a Torque screwdriver to know what NM your are tightening screws down with. As a lawyer I dont expect you to know that I suppose but its common knowledge especially for people that work on bicycles.
I've been using QR Lite for about 2 years now, combined with GT DD Pro (5nm) and McLaren GT3 wheel and had no issues with it. Although I never take it off, so it never gets loosen or tighten =D I know it's plastic and it may break quite easily, but I drive mostly F1 and I consider it to be "gentle" 🙂 I never had any issues with product quality and never used their warranty "service" (thankfully). However, their current issues with deliveries is something totally unacceptable... I've been waiting for my order for around 3 weeks now and others have been waiting for even longer... I'm in a good situation though, as my league is on hiatus at the moment - and I can use my old stuff to race if needed (only ordered a new wheel) 🙂
Thank you for your comment, I'm happy you had no issues with your QR1, but you are set at 5nm which could be a somewhat influential difference. Happy Holidays
@@pjcarochas that is true, I think it could break with 5nm too, if I played something like WRC with it 😅 F1 is silky smooth. I must admit that even if I have FFB at max, I don't have every effect at max as I don't want it to shake at every small bumb 😂
If a person has a problem with their qr1 lite they should at the very least offer the qr2 wheel and base upgrade at what it cost them to make it or for free since it's defective. Personally my qr1 lite has worked fine with no problems but I'm always kind of wondering if it will be a problem at some point. I also am not going to buy their qr2 fix because it's 160.00. So essentially I have to pay them to fix a problem with their faulty equipment.
Thank you for your comment and, as of latest news, they are unilaterally canceling orders made on Black Friday, stating there was a glitch on their website and prices were wrong (too cheap), in the mean time they have kept buyer's money and didn't refund yet. As far as my knowledge, the law requires money to be immediately refunded upon purchase if a gross mistake is made on the price or, if refunded later it should be increase by the legal interest rate stated on commercial law. Have they done it? Will they do it?
@@pjcarochasIm now in the process of getting a refund from my bank. Have given up hope of getting my order which was placed 14th November. Its been stuck in customs since 22nd November as Fanatec didnt provide the correct paperwork for export to the UK. They told me they have provided it but UPS have confirmed the opposite so they are now lying to customers.
Thank you for your comment, funny enought, and that might be my bad, I never had a torque wrench, never noticed needing one, nor see any use for it besides this QR things. Anyway it's another tool on the toolbox. Cheers and happy holidays
Thank you for your comment, now everything is working as it was supposed to be, it costed more $$$ but I guess this is the way nowadays some companies behave. Cheers and happy holidays.
you should switch brands they arent going to get any better my buddy had the as bullshit with his dd it got it fixed and sold it. customer service is a joke but a bunch of companies like this it kinda sad companies really dont give a fuck much anymore
Not sure what is wrong with your Qr1 lite. i have two wheels with it and foing strong. Sry to hear about your problem. Definitely sucks that younget a responds after almost a week of waiting. They need to hire more customer service people to address these tyoes of situations in a promply matter.
I’m tempted but don’t like look of Logitech wheel and I’m worried that Logitech will not release any more wheels and if they do, maybe 1 or 2. Do you really think g pro is great?
Agree with you with the limited amount of wheel choices at the moment. I’ve tried a lot of wheels before purchasing. For bang for buck it’s great. I have no problems with it at all. Would recommend giving it a try. Ergonomics are great. I can only hope for a F1 wheel to be released next year.
@@mainstarservices3129 I guess I could buy it and if I don’t like it I could sell it for maybe £100 less then what I paid for it. Although, I sound stupid saying this but Fanatec has my heart. I was set on buying A beautiful setup. Although, maybe the feeling of Logitech direct drive might impress me loads. I really don’t know what to do.
@@pjcarochas I believe so. And possibly the fact they used to be the only real option and alot are stuck in there ecosystem. I seen moza has a 3nm base coming for xbox but 3nm isn't very much in my opinion lol.
When you're buying, you need to choose qr2 on their website, but yeah, I wish it automatically replaced already. Right now, I need to buy a qr2 also because qr lite is just really bad. I should have gone with it immediately. I also hate how they don't provide mounting screws for pedals like why? Even logitech's cheapest has.
Thanks for your comment. In my opinion it is a shame that they still carry what I consider a seriously faulty designed QR1 Lite and, when you buy bundles, you don't have an option but to get the QR2 as an extra purchase.
Fanatec Stock price went from 4,10€ before Black Friday to 7,10€ after. That is more then 70% increase. Difficult to tell if and how management is profiting from this uplift. It will surely come down as Fanatec is far from capable of actually fulfilling all these orders. So it's a short term reward, on the cost of overall customer satisfaction. Their trustpilot score of 1.6 is terrible. Sony licensing is a BIG factor for Fanatec's eco system. If they get competion here it will hurt them double.
Spot on. I bought a DD Pro with the cheap QR1. Awful. It knocks under load and has come loose a couple of times The throttle pedal waa defective, and I can attest to a very unsatisfactory after-sales wxperience very similar to yours. A very dodgy company. Ive since bought a Logitech G Pro. Now, THAT'S quality 😊
I wanted Fanatec and decided no because bad customer service and poor materials. I was going to get Logitech direct drive but decided not to because there’s only 1 wheel available and I don’t believe that Logitech will make any more. I was set on Fanatec again but am worried again. Do you honestly believe the Logitech is great quality? Like if I could actually try it, I may be so impressed, because I’m only used to Logitech g29, and just 1 race would tell me yes this feels great or no it doesn’t. I just really do not like the look of new Logitech direct drive but now I’m tempted to just buy Logitech and pray I love it and pray that they release more wheels. My worry is also that if Logitech do release more wheels, that they will look bad like the standard 1. I mainly do rally and wanted a totally round wheel . Man I wanted direct drive for 2 years but if I spend £1250 on Logitech and it’s bad, I’ll be gutted.
@@grahamkelly8662 Yes, your point about having one wheel in their 'ecosystem is an important consideration, particularly if you want a round, or formula, wheel NOW. I owned the DD Pro for a year before getting a G Pro, deciding to use the DD Pro at my partner's house. I only just set up the Fanatec in her house yesterday (I'm slack!) , but even after a couple of laps I was missing my G Pro. Honestly, the Fanatec feels cheap in comparison. Not just the wheel, but the base (yes, it may LOOK better, but when you consider the quality, it's quite inferior. The power supply for the Fanatec is badly put together. The outer casing for the main cord (which contains two or three internal cords) has come adrift at the end, and will necessitate some remedial repair so that it does not fray or expose the wires within. Then there's the pedals. Fanatec: cheap and a pain in the butt to install. The Logitech is amazingly cusomisable and a cinch tot install. Overall, if you can get past your feelings about the size and looks of the Logitech, and the lack of other wheels (they do have a wonderful QR - unlike the cheap plastic crap on the Fanatec - which suggest other wheels will come in the future .... go with the Logi, you will not be disappointed. Marvellous bit of kit. Watch some of the reviews online about it, too.' Cheers.
@@grahamkelly8662 Please don't get me wrong, I think Fanatec has indeed great products and I'm happy with my DD Pro GT, the resl problem is the company itself, having a faulty designed QR1 Lite which should have been recalled and their after sales is despicable. Putting that aside everything else is great.
Mine dd pro rattles allot and makes weird cracking noises. first i thought this was normal {never raced on a wheel before} so i let it go... But then it annoyed me allot so i put a piece of cloth between the wheel and base shaft and my goodness.. a whole new experience, zero play and no more weird noises and the ffb feels allot smoother now wow😮 fanatec really dropped the ball here . The QR1 Lite definitely is a huge design flaw and should have never been sold to the public... Were they sleeping when they tested this piece of crap?
I wish I'd read all the bad press before ordering fanatec, but I was in a rush and thought fanatec was supposed to be good, so ordered, and then had to wait a month after they dispatched my order. Only told me of delays after they'd 'dispatched' and taken my money. Dodgy business. Should have gone Moza.
If it's still possible and you are willing to spend more, cancel your order with Fanatec and order a Asetek La Prima or Forte. I received my order within four days (within Europe). Even when I send a unimportant question to their support I received a really friendly response within three or four hours.
Yes I have had mine for one month, now I have this disconnect problem, now I have to by the QR2 upgrade. Original clamp is not good as it clamps on one side. They could fix this issue just buy installing a better clamp which 3rd party's are selling on ebay
Here in Australia is the same... I bought a defective DD pro 6 months ago and still waiting to them to make it work... they took it for repair twice... so I bought a refurbished product but paid for a full quality one .... they refuse to replace or redound... very regret to have choose fanatec
Fanatec are an absolute sham. I wholeheartedly regret buying into their ecosystem and I’m now in the process upgrading all my equipment to get away from them. I literally gave up with a warranty claim after weeks/months of trying to sort with their “customer support” if you can call it that?!
I have more or less the same experience with fanatec . And please anyone who use qr lite don't do it it create a move that can damage the pins . It's not reliable piece of equipment. Don't use it .
My dd pro still disconnecting after two times returning to them , exact same problem as yours. Took me a long time to get A+ rated on gt and now cannot do daily races because Fanatec’s garbage equipment would lose me races and destroy my rating . Is this really what I gave them 1000 euro for? To be lumbered with a useless piece of metal and plastic . I am filing a claim in small claims court which anyone can do. We don’t have to take this.
Thanks for putting this up, investing you time and effort, wery kind! I belive you are saving a lot of people a lot of frustrations and money. Fanatech is a klovn car bound to crash wery soon. Most of the content creators/reweivers are not honest to say the least. 👍
Thank you for your comment. I do like my Dd Pro GT, no doubts about ir, it is outrageous that such a bad company has such a good product. Happy holidays.
Fanatec is always cheap crap products from China but Fanatec selling with Design in Germany for EU crazy price. Every item which I buy from Fanatec have some problems or is shipped broken from factory !
Love my fanatec gear , but my new lodcell was faulty from get go , the 2 week wait for response wad bad enough but then generic emails that end up giving you a silly number or confirmation number they use only to then ask for video evidence etc . Took well over 5 weeks . Everytime we send email its not a human its a generic robot service, beware the 2 week response which they deem as ok really grinds you down . Like i said the fanatec hardware when working is amazing . Just company had reall shitty customer service
I gave up on Fanatec. They are not worth it. They sell the same defective products for years, like the micro usb connection on the CSL DD. They didn't fix it. Like all other failure products. I won't spent any more money on their products. Moza, Asetek, are much better options for the medium user.
You're "lucky" to get an answer every 4 5 days my friend csl dd didn't last 3 hours before overheating and smeling burned, his base serial number dosent work on their site and he get a useless answer every two weeks
Under Dutch law it is up to the seller to keep up the warranty etc., the seller is liable to make sure the warranty and the expected quality of the product they sell is respected. In the NL sellers often think to tell buyers it's up to the OEM to do this and try to get buyers to go to the OEM with problems. Dont know what your laws are but in the NL Fanatec is not responsible, it''s the retailer's problem with how the OEM handles this it should not become the customer's problem. Your a lawyer really?? As a lawyer you should have found out your laws concerning these issues are before going on a rant. Yes, it could be totally trash they sold you, and yes it might be by bad design and/or planned obsolescence and undoable mounting demands that all sound fair, but the law is the law! What is the law mister lawyer??? Why don't you know the law before posting this?? Big fail on your part mister lawyer....
Dropped 3500 into the ecosystem to go all in on an upgrade. After 4 weeks I gave up. I realized the amount of terrible issues their hardware has , their horrible RMA system , horrible customer service , horrible logistics, and I was luckily able to cancel my entire order and move on. Now I’m in the cycle of waiting for simagic to be in stock. First time since the 80’s I want something and I simply can not buy it. Trying since October to simply get a full DD system with shifter and brake , round wheel and f1 wheel.
Fanatec is a shit show. I have an order from November 22 that hasn't shipped despite them sending me a message on December 5 saying it was in the shipping process. They don't respond to queries on any platform that I know of. I too wondered about the EU consumer protection since they seem to be all over everyone else's products. I wonder how long before a class action lawsuit (at least in the US) starts.
Yeah great… let’s bash a company that is having trouble with its warehouse. Sure communications could be better. But I ordered my gt dd pro and received it 5 days later! I’m loving it so far. Sure it is not cheap… It’s still the best value for money when it comes to a dd ps5 compatible wheel. Good luck to everyone who has issues with there gear. Fanatec is working on it so please be patient.
They’ve had horrible customer service for years. I sold all of my Fanatec gears about five years ago due to horrible rma processes and the fact I had to use it so much. They’ve let it get this bad by investing no resources in that department while at the same time selling more and more product. Maybe if they’d spent some money on providing better service instead of sponsoring Motorsports and paying RU-vidrs to push their products they could’ve prevented all of this and could’ve been a better company.
You didn't buy your product from Fanatec! What warranty you expect from them? Take it where you bought it from! Same applies with any other electronic devices warranty will go through the company where you buy it from not directly to manufacturer.
Bud stop raging sell your stuff and buy another brand. Fanatec has always said designed in Germany and made in China. They don’t support re-sellers they sell direct and they don’t sell in Asia. The reseller you bought it from imported it illegally. Your source in China ripped you off ! They are not going to send you a torque wrench. Stop buying stuff in grey markets and you will have warranty. Don’t buy Fanatec in Asia!!!
@@bgdaddy42069 I guess calling out click baits and lies makes people a POS. Who is a fanboy now lol! How about facts then: Fanatec does not sell to Asia Fanatec does not support re-sellers Fanatec always says designed in Germany made in China in every box I guess that makes me a fanboy? I my opinion fanboys are people that don’t accept facts and this people are the real POS!
I respect you disagreeing with my opinion, but two things seem important to clarify, 1 - I did not misrepresent any facts on the video, 2 - I don’t care about likes on the video or subscribers to the channel, this channel exist to share things with my friends and family and if can help other people form their own opinion on the matters at stake, it’s just positive.
Nah i love Fanatec and have never had an issue with the QR1 light when i had it. You need to know how to use it and not run it at full power ovviously.
You are absolutely wrong on your suspicion. I was never paid to make a video, nor I would accept payment to make something like this, it's a question of principles
I suspect your comment is paid for by scamatec. I'd recommend buying from, moza, simagic, asetek, logitech, thrustmaster, simucube etc. Are you saying that all the fanatec problems everyone is talking about is fake? Lol. Paid fanatec shill, I'm siding with the consumer always no matter which company it is.
