Please note: regarding the BRF setting at 3:23 in the video - this description is no longer correct. On older firmware versions for some Fanatec bases, the highest braking effort was required at 'Off'. Now for all bases with up-to-date firmware, 'Off' requires the lightest braking effort, and '100' requires the most effort.
Wheel needs a "TEA" setting which reminds you to drink your brew before it gets cold by flashing the rev lights ever 2 minutes. I find drift on -2 is good for lots of Sims and cars :)
Perhaps a consideration to other Fanatec newcomers, set your FF to lowest in all 5 presets at first and gradually increase. I've hurt myself by forgetting to set newly installed Grid2 force feedback settings low and had my wheel FF set at 100% on a new preset, thereafter I went the opposite route instead. I own a CSW 2.5 and it's quite powerful, safety first.
Thank you for the video. I just bought the Fanatec CSL Elite and I want to adjust the Brake Force. But I can't find the setting in the menu. SEn, FF, SHo, AbS, drI, For, SPr, dPr and FEI appear but not brF. I updated the Firmware but it still doesn't appear. Can somebody help me please?
Did you figure this out? I can’t get the ABS option to show up, i’m trying to set the vibration for the V3 pedals. But can’t seem to turn it on. I can only perform a motor test
I came to understand the force, spring and damper but she bypassed them. Can some1 refer me to another video? as it's hard to understand written things.
Just to mention that BRF settings works exactly in the opposite way (higher values = more pressure needed) as shown into the video, I'm using CSL elite LC pedal however, not the V3 as it is into the video.
Antonio Pazienza I’m glad someone else noticed that,unless an update has changed it,I keep mine to 40% so I don’t have to push the pedal through the floor

i just bought my Fanatec mclaren wheel with the CSL DD. But i only have 3 modes in the tuning menu (sensitivity, ffb and nat damp.) but i also want the others because the wheel feels really light, close to 0 resistance even tho my ffb is turned all the way up, that’s why i want the Drift function but i don’t have it on my wheel how do i get the drift function?
Warning! All these RU-vid videos are great and interesting. The one thing they don’t do is inform you what their products are like to live with over a period of time. If you wish to have a happy and content life please take my advise and look at the FANATEC’s own Forum in regards to all the issues they have and their terrible customer service. I have one word to the question should you purchase FANATEC products? DONT. I would have had the same amount of problems with a real race car.. On a lighter note Im very grateful FANATEC do not build motor vehicles

Hello Fanatec, maybe you should do a new Video? Not only the old term ABS is used, also the BRF (Break force) is explained wrong. If I put BRF to 100, I need to push the pedal to a maximum, the video explains it in the opposite way.

Your description for BRF is incorrect, if set to 100% it means you have to press fully to achieve quicker braking, setting it to 50% means you achieve 100% braking with only pressing half as much. If you set BRF to 100% and only press lightly you will not stop quicker.
Hi Rapid_GT 99, you are correct. At the time, the firmware for the CSL base was working the opposite way around. We have since changed all firmware for our bases to work with '100' representing the highest braking effort. Unfortunately RU-vid no longer supports annotations so the video can't be corrected, but I've pinned a comment to clarify this. We will eventually create a new Tuning Menu video.
Yesterday playing R3E ,my Fanatec paddle shifts on the Universal hub stopped working while the wheel can still steer, changed to AC and restarted my PC but the problem wasn't sloved. 5 min. later everything is working and I successfully did and endurance race. Is this a known issue? Any1 can give me an advice what to do it now at home? I cannot afford to send to service now and if my rig gets broken I will quit simracing until I can buy a new Podium.
Update guys, hopefully useful. Do NOT put a longer screw in the quick release system, otherwise the button box and paddle shifters will not work. If u lost the original screw and do not know the dimentions of it, do not use any screw (at least that's what I did), and I think nothing bad is gonna happen.
This is briefly explained at 3:47 in the video. The Spring and Damper modifiers are less commonly used by developers compared to the Force setting. You can test what each modifier is doing to the overall signal by running one at 100 and turning the other two down to zero.
@@Sharkec21 I Have: Sen Auto FF 90 SHO 50 ABS OFF DRI -01 FOR 90 SPR OFF DPR OFF FEI 50 and it's not bad, but with all this stuff i'd like to have some reference settings from Fanatec.
@@mattiadanese1238 Everyone has or want different feeling. There is no best setting. I just don't understand why everyone is putting damper to zero. I had 4 400+ hp cars and non of them had zero damper feeling. If you put dpr and spr to 100, that doesn't mean that game will use 100%. It will be used only as much as developers intended.

hi Andrew i've just fixed mine hope this helps you out made u now lol good luck.o switch between the Standard and Advanced tuning menus, press the tuning menu button to open the tuning menu first, then press it again and hold it for 3 seconds.
I have a question. If I’m on Xbox one and I get a csl elite wheel base with the formula v2 wheel, will I have to update the firmware on a computer or do I just plug it in to my Xbox and play?

What about the accelerator? The way it is set up is quite different from the T300 RS I had previously, in that I lift off but it's still got some accelerator on, because the pedal travel is longer and there aren't the same dead zones as before, which means I keep power oversteering by accident, can you change this?
Could you fix wheel wobble on a straight line in Grandturismo using fanatec wheel??? Other games like wreckfest do not have this problem. I did tried plenty of settings in order to fix this, yes of course you can 1/2 the feedback and set DRI to -3 but then what is the point of spending all cash on a strong force feedback?
It is no problem to run FF at 100 and then control the overall forces from the in-game settings. It is rarely a good idea to run the in-game settings at 100% as well, because you will likely cause 'clipping'.

Hope someone answer my question. Can u turn the drift mode on n off. So say use the drift mode turn it on to drift. Then can it be turned off again when u go back to normal racing
if you go lower with the numbers it dampen heavy ff more and more. so for example your base mounted on your table is rumbling. set 40. if you want more rumble go to 60 and so on
@Fanatec please bring a new video with the new settings. Its not in the manual and i dont find it in internet, i searched what is "ffs" and didnt find it
Hope they get you to present the new software for the Podium DD motors. Although find it difficult to concentrate when watching your videos. Have to watch it several times..lol.
This video is obsolete and should be updated as the settings have changed on the software and none of the labels the same… Also, I would recommend answering frequently asked questions… lots of people complaining about random oscillations.
just got wheel seems really nice i just cant seem to tune it for xbox and forza 7 ...AC , and PC2 works well not much fussing with settings ..anyone have settings for forza 7 would be appreciated
The product shown in the video is the CSL Racing Wheel for PS4. The base is also available as a standalone product called the CSL Elite Wheel Base +. The Tuning Menu features described in this video are the same as the ones found on the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5.
I have V3 Pedals attached to V 2.5 Base with Forza Wheel. I cannot see BRF setting on my wheel anymore, does anyone know why? And yes pedals are connected to my Base and not to any USB on my PC. Also, when I double click on Fanatec Wheel settings under the window settings everything else works but when I press Pedals the bar does not move, however, Pedals show up and I can calibrate them when I double click on V3 Pedals in window settings. Any suggestion and help would be appreciated :)

I have two Fanatec steering wheels, but used for Xbox One. However on my steering wheel I can’t see display of speed, gear etc. Does anyone know how to set them up?
Were it so Easy the one what come with the Loadcell is the one what will work with the Loadcell. The other should not be used, and might not work. I don’t even try it, cause I don’t risked a possible damage on the PCB :)
it should automaticcaly show it if you are NOT in the settings menu, if it doesn't you might have an in-game option to turn it on, i know ACC has this option
Download 'Fanalab' to change what's shown on the wheel's display. You can also save profiles and launch games with it. Tons of options which they sadly don't seem to mention anywhere...idk why.
Because The pedals are connected to the e base with usb cable. You can see The BRF options only when The brake pedals is connected with the base via Rj12 cable.
Hello, have a question and hope you can help me. I have been the proud owner of a Fanatec CSL Elite including F1 Wheel for a few days now. I made update etc without problems, it works synonymous everything, except that with me on the steering wheel no KM / H are displayed on the LED display. The gearshift bar lights up normally and even if I press Tuning Menu Button the display lights up. Why can it be that I do not get km / h or no gears displayed?
I love how fanatec claims to support ps5 and xbox but provide ZERO ability for us to update the drivers. So, fanatec definition of support is "you can plug it in and it'll work, but whichever bugs were "included" with whatever firmware the wheelbase had at the time it was put into its box, is what you will live with until the product fails" which apparently is about a year, judging from the thousands of BBB complaints. So hey, fanatec, how about showing some appreciation for the console users who paid exactly the same for their equipment as the pc users and provide firmware updates over consoles. Its not rocket science to do this. Its unreal, the disrespectful manner in which fanatec treats their console customers.
FF controls FOR, SPR, and DPR together. In many sims, FOR is the main 'channel' for delivering the FFB, so in many cases adjusting FF and FOR will indeed feel similar if not exactly the same.
DomB_Fanatec FOR can be higher than 100 ... so what it does if I set FF to 50 and FOR to 150 ... is that identical to Ff 75 and FOR 100? You actually did not explain FOR, SPR and DPR ... will that come in another tutorial?
Gibt es dass bitte auch in DEUTSCH?...sehr enttäuschend für eine Deutsche Firma alles nur noch in Englisch anzubieten. Für die Preise die Fanatec verlangen könnte man meinen das dass nicht zu viel verlangt ist.
Könnten die tun, das würde aber bedeuten das die Preis dann auch 15-20 % teuerer werden, weil ja dann auch französisch und chinesisch gebraucht wird. Deutsch sprechen nun mal sehr wenige außerhalb DE-AT-CH ... Und wir können froh sein, das es nicht wie in Frankreich ist, wo die nicht mal die Webseiten in English haben. Da gibt es nur französisch, und das bedeutet, das deren Produkte sich international nicht verkaufen.
