This is a flight I have wanted to do for years, a brilliant experience at cloud-base around stunning mountains in southern Austria. I had some difficult patched which made it even more rewarding.
I thought I recognised the name ! So that's what you meant when you said you "did some hang gliding". Very impressive ! About as close to a raptor as a human's going to get Congratulations, stay safe and continue to Age Disgracefully. All the best to you and your family. A blast from the past.... Really great to hear from you, I have retired about a year ago and due to Covid this is the first time I was able to fly in the Alps with my new glider. It was a long held ambition to do this flight and I was very chuffed. Yes I intend to grow old disgracefully, there are a lot of years flying left in me yet. Best regards Steve
That’s a good question I should have explained. The international standards for a triangle flight is complicated so those coloured sectors tell me where I have to go to get the triangle flight. Triangles are the most difficult as for two legs you are not flying with the wind and one is into wind.
@@steveyoung-hanggliding Nothing to apologize for; you were properly chuffed (as well you should be). It was more the dead pan delivery that I loved. We could put subtitles in another language to the effect of, "This was probably my worst flying experience ever." and a non-English speaker would believe it based on your laconic delivery.
Well done. Ive only flown the area once (possibly a week before you arrived) but, not in good weather. I'm super stoke to see this flight (I wont hold it against you that it's on a hang glider :) ). well done mate :).
Its a rigid Hang Glider called an AtosVR+, fantastic machine, but you can fly in much more basic gliders and a course costs as little as £1500 or 1800 euros. Look up Hang Gliding
