really cool to hear your thoughts on the raven cycle, its a series ive put off rereading since i loved it so much back in high school but since you still enjoyed it that encourages me to go back and reread! im still reading malazan and am on the 9th now, still loving it and want to thank you again since your reviews got me into the series!
Becky Chambers is one of my new fav authors, I just binged the Wayfarer's series and it was such a cozy delight! I'm excited to pick up Psalm for the Wild Built. Currently rereading WoT w/my first-time reader wife. About to start Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi.
Ahh reading wot with your wife sounds like such a fun wonderful bonding activity, it’s really special to share your favorite books with your favorite person ❤️
Books i'm reading and loving lately -- The Serpent Gates Duology by A.K. Larkwood -- orc assassin MC, gods that want you to die for them, sapphic romance, snarky banter, and becoming the monster to defeat monsters The Pact & Pattern Trilogy by J.T. Greathouse -- anticolonial fantasy with high magic in an East Asian setting, lush prose, and deep musings on the nature of power and freedom
I am doing a 4th read of Malazan, a bit over half way through Bonehunters, and I have been a fan of British comedies since the 70s when I watched Monty Python on PBS
I’ve not read JS&MN but I know it’s inspired a lot by Lud in the Mist by Hope Mirrless. It’s a pre Tolkien fantasy stand-alone that’s relatively short and I thought was splendid. Maybe it’ll be a hit for you!
Currently Reading three books: *Time of the Twins* by Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman (this is a multiple re-read in prep for discussing it on my newest YT channel which focuses on re-reading books that we first read in the first half of our lives), *Tehanu* by Ursula K Le Guin (for a panel discussion with Philip Chase, who we had on our channel to discuss the first three Earthsea books), and *Magician* by Raymond E Feist (another one I've read ages ago and am doing for my new channel, *Non-Terrestrial Half-Life* , which will be discussing this book in a couple of months). I didn't count it above, but I am also kinda re-reading *Caliban's War* but only a couple of chapters a week in prep for reviewing the associated episodes of *The Expanse* which we are reviewing on my first channel which is all about reviewing adaptations from one medium to another.
@@r1ddhima It's really good. And we had a blast discussing them with Philip (who's channel I first learned of I believe from a video of yours back when his channel was still fairly new). So much so we decided to continue on with Tehanu, but that book doesn't fit our channel's Thing (re-reading books from the first half of our life) so Philip graciously is going to host now.
hello, love these types of videos !! def subscribing :) i am currently reading the first mistborn era 1 book which is also my first brandon sanderson book ! i really like it so far. i am also rereading hxh and it's reminding me why i fell in love with series in the first place lol
My boyfriend loves hxh and I was watching it with him, it’s such a fun story. Your first Brandon Sanderson! I feel like Mistborn is a perfect starting place for his work, I’m glad you’re liking it.
