If you look at the Reload Animation of the Assault Rifle in Far Cry New Dawn, you can see that the player does not throw the used magazine down to the ground. Probably to reuse it the next time.
@@ApocGuy He means that the character does that so he can reuse them, it is for the immersion. It is obviously not going to be implemented as a mechanic.
@@tori9365 its not worth 40, 20-30 atleast its small story, the new "villians" bring nothing new to anything, and they made it rpg style which is idiotic, not worth 40
Just an FYI: Far Cry New Dawn is not "$60." Ubisoft clearly did a poor job marketing this game because I have seen an overwhelming amount of comments stating that the game is "full priced." It's a $40 standalone expansion, similar to Uncharted: Lost Legacy or Red Dead Undead Nightmare. I'll have a full review for Far Cry New Dawn later this week for those interested in learning more.
GhostRider12 I think it’s a real scientific phenomenon where plants bloom like crazy many many years after a nuke. Unless I’m just tripping on my LSD again...
S W Y I mean they could just be different crops that grew after the fallout, I don’t think wheat can withstand an explosion that’s hotter than the surface of the sun
I like how the nuclear apocalypse gives everyone a health bar and makes them immune to bullets unless they have nuts and bolts welded on them, I also like how you can't recruit people who have random traits anymore and you can only have one... Great creative choices all around, adding nothing but color and a sawblade launcher and removing some of the better aspects of 5. 👍
2:49 They should have made the Eagle look 'rougher'- you know, like the survivers had tried to restore it but could only do so much with the inferior materials available to them?
The biggest thing I missed in New Dawn was you could only take 1 companion with you instead of two. Used to love teaming Peaches and Cheeseburger up and having the combination of stealth and brute strength as back up
Good thing is you can still have multiple companion by just call another one when the current one still fighting. When you call another one, the current one will still fight any enemies he/she saw right now and on the way out.
@@bdr32965 I was suprised too. I was doing a camp with the sniper companion on the roof then I think maybe the assault riffle girl is better for this so I just swap. Then I realized the sniper one still on the roof sniping when the assault riffle girl shooting on the ground. They even talk to eachother when we are done. The replaced one stay way longer than I thought.
IDK what the backstory of the main protagonist is, but i like the fact that he's slower with the guns. I HAAAATE those hyperspeed reloads in Far Cry 5 or about every other shooter, where they are like cyborgs reloading the guns at the speed of light. Here the character seems less experienced and like he is from the wasteland, not a secret Area 51 training camp where he's lived his whole life practicing reloads
Honestly, my favourite part of FC5 was walking through a forest while hunting for deer, and I loved the game. The amount of detail in the vegetation models and environments in general are really impressive.
The guns reloading in New Dawn sound like they have more wear and additional friction because the inserted magazine and pulling the gun's top back sounds rougher.
As far as i've known the blast didn't directly hit the town. It was outside of it but near enough to get hit with the winds or the so called shock waves
Having never played this game and just picked it up for $15, all of a sudden these bad ratings don't seem so accurate. This game is an absolute blast to play! Glad I own this one as it has revived my want to continue playing this series. I thought it was ruining the series based on reviews and trailers, but I have been pleasantly surprised to find the opposite!
it's because the price was pretty steep on release. either way i never understood the hate either the game is really fun and outside the box in terms of worldbuilding in a far cry game
I don't get it why people hate Far Cry New Dawn, it's an amazing expansion pack, it's pretty much fc 5, oh and knife kills come back, game is still fun and feels like a far cry game even tho it has rpg elements, it's overall a great game but too short
I was hoping for an actual dark apocalyptic setting and i wanted like some weather effects like rain lighting and thunder! Also am i missing something here, like whats with all the fortnite colors like all pink? Is that what happens to earth when nukes hit it?
Farcry 5 is the only game that has made me feel this much emotion, i was really let down when I got new dawn because the story line seems way to rushed.
@@keepitcountry6422 all characters of far cry are muted most of the time. So it doesnt matter if the 5 and new dawn characters were muted because they're your own character and it makes you feel as if "you're" part of the game. You and other people complain about that but every fuckin character in far cry were muted. Maybe the ones in fc 3 and 4 were a little more talkative but In every other farcry game all the characters were muted.
@@keepitcountry6422 yeah, everyone has their opinions but there's lots of games where you play muted characters and the game was still good or even great. So I don't understand why people hate fc 5 or new dawn now when they've played games with mute characters that didnt change based off experience or anything and still thought that game was awesome. I really don't understand people these days
Hi, Every Body Today We Are Comparing Far Cry 5 With Far Cry New Dawn, And We're Going To Talk About Stuff That Has Completely Nothing To Do With The Two Games' Story Or Big Details And Pay Attention To Every Detail That No Notices. :]
so you wanna say that its justified for them to charge 60 for couple of new animations, reskins and a shorter story with not as good antagonists, it rly reminded me of blood dragon which was similar in a way but that hadn't the full game price tag on it, plus the cheek to make you grind loads or pay for microtransactions also adds a sour taste
Unpopular opinion but I love New Dawn much more than 5, in 5 I just felt bored all the time and in New dawn everything just feels more enjoyable, also people keep calling it just a reskin but iIve played it extensively and it has a lot of new features plus the missions are actually unique and not copy and pasted like they were in Far cry 5 where you had to go to a place, grab a thing, and deliver thing for so many of the missions. Blood Dragon was also a reskin of Far cry 3 and that game is bloody amazing.
I'm sure most of these people bashing the game based on a video compairing the changes to the look of the game (which didn't get into the animals in the game which was surprising) haven't played the game or seen more in depth reviews and actually seen the changes they made to the gameplay. It's mostly people complaining the game has pink flowers. I'm glad your enjoying the game and can't wait to start playing. I have already watched videos that show extensively everything they added to this sequel and it looks like it will be great. For the people bashing the game based on a comparison of the graphics and sounds of weapons; I would wait until he puts up the full review of the game to judge. I can't wait to see the side quests that take you to other places in the US (the game doesn't entirely take place in Hope County)
will andersen what I love about new dawn is there is an actual purpose of hunting again, to get skins for resources I felt in 5 once you get the skill points from the animal there was no point of hunting them anymore
it would actually fit the setting tbh and the series. Far cry 2 actually did implement weapon jamming and in new dawn it can represent how the nuclear has worn and rust some of the weapons from previous game.
Personaly I love the new burst of color added to new dawn and the animations are better, for example in far cry 5 the takedowns are extremely boring and unrealistic, but in new dawn the takedowns have improved dramatically, when taking down enemies you actually grab them and do something like put them in a headlock and stab them in different parts of the body, and when taking them down from above, you fall ontop of them and you both end up on the ground then your character gets back on top and kills them. When it comes to reloading weapons in newdawn, your character spares the magazine on the default assault rifle and holds it in his hand as he puts the new mag in at the same time and he has to pull the cocking handle twice before it actually fully pulls back, and when reloading the 1911 pistol he pulls the mag out a little bit then changes his hand positioning to fully pull it out then he forcefuly pushes the slide forward, and when reloading the shotgun it's extremely more realistic, it takes much longer to put the shells into the gun, because no one can reload a shot gun as quickly as you do in the other far cry games, he actually has to push pretty hard to put them in, the reloading time is more real to life, most reloads are more realistic in new dawn with almost all weapons. There are probably some cool new details that I'm missing but the point is, they have improved on some of their mistakes and made other things a little better, and a few things have got worse, like you said the water is way to blue in new dawn. I hope some of this info was useful.
@@tori9365 they did, story is short, new 'villians' add nothing new only reason to get it is to see what happens to Joseph seed, the only thing i like is the new outpost system and main base
RU-vidrs: Far cry 5 and new dawn are practically the same Everybody else: Well then what’s the point in playing it without new stuff! Me: it’s the same map, just after a nuclear war, no ones going to start a gun factory and start designing new guns, are they? Everything is run down, beyond repair and there are no government officials to send out public repairmen, are they? Everything is the same, due to the nuclear war. So if u are complaining about this game, USE YOUR HEAD AND FIGURE OUT WHY EVERYTHING IS THE SAME!
I loved FC 5. So I was heading for FCND. I knew it was a recycling of the old world but 17 years later and I was actually impressed at how insane FCND looks. It's lightning, the colours, the animals, forest with bright sunshine is just impressive. Gameplay wise I don't like it that much. The new combat system is not the right for me - feels like Borderlands. I love Borderlands but in FC I don't like it. I also think FCND is more demanding as FC5 for I have some drops to 40ish FPS in some areas - for example entering the New Eden camp. I had none with FC5 but a few in FCND even though it is well optimized. Playing on a GTX 1080 at 1080p/60Hz (Ultra settings). I think this is because there is much more... intense lightning(?) or volumetric effects (dust from the ground). So I think that FCND is a bit more demanding graphics wise, at least in some areas or scenes when there is lots of people or lots of lightning effects going on.
@@f32perc Sounds nice. If I disable Vsync (can't stand screen tearing so I have it on in every single player game) I have around 80 - 100 FPS. 1080 still a monster! Talking of FC5 AND FCND :)
Nd is basically a graphic reshade mod for 45. Its a literal scam and sorry but people like you voting for shit like this with your wallet are hurting the industry and driving down effort and quality. Honestly: shame on you.
2:20 can we just take a moment to appreciate the attention to detail between the two woods, the knots in the wood are in identical locations on the textures
So I got the gold edition and dawn bundle. I started the story on the normal base game. What’s the difference? Should I finish the normal base game then re do the story on the dawn ??
It's interesting to see how the map changed especially when you try to find out what that place looked like in far cry 5. I also like the gameplay in new dawn a bit more than in 5. The rank system of basically everything is also a nice feature. I also really enjoy discovering new mini maps by doing expeditions, which also gives you a lot of materials to craft your weapons and stuff. Known charakters are mostly well integrated in new dawn. So all in all i really like new dawn more than far cry 5. It feels kind of more like far cry than 5 does.
Ya weird how a sequel to far cry 5 has to be on the same map now that's just being lazy they should have made hope county completely different with jungles. (Sarcasm) by the way anyone remember blood dragon. I bet you guys where not crying and screaming "reskin"
Sequels usually entail a new map ironically, and the game is basically a reskin with different reloads and a new story. The fact it was released 11 months after the 5th shows this was hastily put together and was nothing more than a cash grab. This is a dlc and worth $20. If that's what it was I would say, "holy shit what a nice dlc!" Instead they put in minimal effort and released a dlc as a $40 dollar game. What's upsetting is good content was grossly overestimated and is completely overpriced until you can snag a cheap key for 15-20 dollars. Oh, and no one cared that blood dragon was a reskin because it was a $15 dollar dlc that was actually worth it's content. The content here is fine, it's the bullshit they are marketing this as a full game worth $40 dollars that isn't. @@devinphillips8085
@@devinphillips8085 Blood Dragon wasn't a sequel, it was a standalone expansion. It was literally called "Farcry 3: Blood Dragon" and it was like $15. It also wasn't just a reskin, it wasn't even on the same map, so you're kind of just proving Zaid's point. This is a $15 reskin expansion being sold as a $40 sequel.
New dawn is crap shooting the enemy 5 times to drop them including wild animals just pure fallout material really won't be playing this silly game anymore a terrible let down.
Absolutely. Im trying to do an e3 comparison first... but that location must be late in the game. Been playing all day and havent seen anything remotely similar to that church on the cliff
@@TheSateef it's basically because of the radiation which accelerated plant growth, so if the humans weren't there it'll basically just look like any other forest, oh and it doesn't look like an oasis... it looks more like an apocalyptic wasteland
Hi, i just wondered about person in jungle stay alone and if you come closer to him he make a smoke explosion around him to escape......why he exist, or the reason after showing his sign in screenplay
The weapon sounds are different. Some more so than others, but there are distinct variations in pitch, tone, reverb, delay and attack. Good comparison Nick. Thanks. Those flowers though! Awfully pink!
My only problem with this whole situation is they didn’t even add the new dawn content to the far cry arcade imagine how the custom outposts the community would have made
When I first saw the color theme of New Dawn I thought the game was going to be awful. But after playing a little, I enjoyed it more than Far Cry 5. Great game!
@@randomkidonyoutube1617 it has a pretty good story, not as good as FC5, but still. The map is almost as fun as FC5. The weapons and the gamelpay are better.
Amazing work by Ubisoft! I can't even imagine the amount of work they put into making Far Cry New: Dawn... It's so obviously different... Same map, same textures, same graphics, same everything besides the colour! Simply amazing... We can all agree that the Ubisoft devs definitely took their time to make this mastertrash of a game.
Got this game for only $22 and I’m enjoying it a lot. When I first got into the world I didn’t even recognize it was hope county. Certain points of interests from farcry 5 aren’t even recognizable. I went to the F.A.N.G. Center and it didn’t even look like it did before.
No one : Nick930 : Flashing his rtx 2080 Meanwhile me : Watching his videos and side by side playing new dawn on my rtx 3090 lol bro btw nice work i subbed u
Great video, thanks for the comparison. You did ask if we could hear a difference in the sound and to me, the close up sounds sound similar, however, the echo from the gun shots don’t seem as loud. Maybe due to less environment and less objects to bounce the sound off. My opinion.
also stuff is more detailed, like there's more to see on the weapons, and they bring this out by giving you an option of holding your weapons which shows them off more.
I'd love to see Menu and UI comparisons in future videos. I feel like New Dawn is the same as 5 but with a "post-apocalyptic" theme. But it looks exactly the same layout wise.
Some games do get away with it. But I think it still requires them to do a complete from scratch overall. I guess they didn't want to do it again since blood dragon was a lot different from the original fc3.
@@Maaden84 Well, he got something right. FC New Dawn looks like a stand alone DLC. It's not the first game that does that. Dying Light and Dying Light : The Following is a great exemple. Two different games, but in the same product. But Ubisoft doesn't waste any chance to take money from fools. I played FC 5 with all the dlcs, i don't need this Rage wannabe.
@@SellingSouls Sell New dawn as a DLC and cut 5 bucks from the price and you still got the same fucking thing just a tiny less pricey, its a stand-alone game based on Farcry 5 sold 40 buck yadiyada big deal.
