thank you -" we send out hope into this Scottish air - by those who care, by those who march to ring the dangers, who've clocked the dangers" - spectacular
Watched the entire thing with tears streaming down my face. The love and work and artistry and creativity that went into making this shine through as brightly as those beautiful, ethereal "light animations". It's a masterpiece - at once deeply personal and homely but also universal and inclusive. Bravo!
Scotland rocks. Makes me proud to a part of humanity as a plural and not singular. And the 50 trolls that gave this a dislike ...well I guess you don’t get invited to parties much do you.
Some folk merely exist to complain about something, unjustifiably, in many cases. It's the old "glass half full, or glass half empty" thing. Perhaps both views miss the point that, in a civilised, friendly society, someone will happily top up your glass. 🙂
As a patriot Scot this is what we’re all about! Gorgeous and breath taking display, all involved should be very proud of what you’ve created. Alba gu brath.
Yeh the words of our makar were so poignant. As we say in Scotland we're a` freens. Meaning we're all friends. Happy new year. Here's tae a better wan 💖🏴
This is so beautiful! I really wish the fireworks displays will eventually become redundant. Congratulations to everyone involved in this precious project. I had tears in my eyes.
A superb production, visually breathtaking and aurally beautiful too. Such a wonderful way to demonstrate all that has been and all that will be as we move into 2021. For all who have lost and suffered, worked tirelessly to support us and cared for others, we stand by you. Such emotive poetry performed with sensitivity. Thank you to all involved for giving us this gift 🎉🏴🍻🥃❤
This is amazing! Now, 45 years since I drove to Scottish Highlands along with my brother over the Forth Bridge on A9 to Blair Atholl-Inverness-Gairloch from Finland. Happy New Year!
Without doubt the most creative and poignant Hogmanay message ever!!! I think I have something in my eye. The whole world is Scottish on Hogmanay and even more so after this wonderful piece. Thank You All!
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The lyrics, the illustrations, the music, the programming and all the different pieces that went into this artwork are all superb in their own category. Please turn on community contributions, so that we can add translations in many languages.
Need to be reminded daily of the possibility of concerted beauty to heal people's hearts and minds...so uplifting and lovely. Thank-you to all the artists and others who made this experience possible.
I am honestly wonderstruck, your innovative light show and such poetic words reflecting our united thoughts of our long past traditions, struggles of this trying year, yet our hopes of a better tomorrow made me experience a wonderment like a child again. I wept when I saw the words Scotland over the castle, I felt emotional seeing my hometown, and I feel so proud that Scotland could share such a heartfelt message to seal the end of 2020 in such an innovative and creative way to share with the world. Well done to all the teams involved, you’ve done our nation proud. Lang may yer lum reek 🏴🥃🎉
@@cantbendknee You are wrong "The word itself has been around since at least 1604 when it first appeared in written records." Scottish troops that I knew stationed in Berlin in the early 1980s celebrated Hogmanay!!! So , NO it is not just a "tourist" thing!!!
A wee tear comes to me eye on such beauty I have seen in the sky. Thank you Scotland as we breath in a new year's air from us all. A round at Ryan’s when I can return. Again thank you.
Funny. I’m from Canada, but did business in Germany and the love of my life was from Scotland (didn’t work out). Love this video, but also breaks my Heart. Peace and love to everyone across the globe, and Linda, if you see this, know you are in my thoughts and heart.
So beautiful and sad in the same breath. more special than any firework display could ever be. A grown-up prayer of loss and found and a kinder way for our environment and to us all. I loved this so much more than all the noise of a usual New Year. The poetry was stunning with a gentle slumber into another year. Thank you, Scotland for showing a better way, for humanity.
It would be seen as a message from the gods, to whom the people would respond, by turning away from Mammon, listening to their prophets, and realigning their values. May it have the same effect today. We can afford to care for each other and we can have a culture based on something other than consumption.
Love how they used the Gealic and Scots lingo, made it feel more scottish. They are both such beautiful Languages. I think I could hear David Tennant? 🤔
Well done to everyone on the production of this amazing project. It has to be regarded as one of the most poignant and innovative New Year message that resonates around the globe. Simply stunning !
Oh for a bit of heat. -2 last night here in Scotland. I was proud when I heard what was going to be done for hogmanay. Happy New Year to our Australian brothers n sisters. Saor Alba gu br`th ( Free scotland)🏴
Part one in particular was very moving, perfectly made visually, with poetry and music that truly reflected Scots feelings and thoughts during a horrendous year for everyone...we''l get there in the end though, stay safe and strong everyone.
May you and you and yours look forward to each and every day of 2021 and your Mondays be as good as your Fridays. Sláinte mhaith! To one an a’. May yer lum reek.
Thank you to all involved for this beautiful and poignant message. I hope my friends in Edinburgh had as good a view as I did from across the pond. Missing you and my family so far away. Bright blessings to all for this new year.
That's outstanding, & done with the Heart that could only be done by the Scots. So nicely done, cannot wait for lockdown to end, so I can revisit my Bonnie Scotland.
What a moving, empathetic event! It certainly got to the bottom of the issue and so exquisitely expressed it. I was so moved by this Hogmanay - seeing the reality for so many being recognised and respected really lifted me up with hope for the future! Thank you!
