Fargo Season 4 Episode 9 | East/West | FRR Reaction 

this is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. the season as a whole doesn’t exactly hit the mark but this one deserves all the praise

In the Coen Brothers’ absurd universe, random events affect characters and the plot itself for no apparent reason. In season 1 there’s the tornado that dumps fish onto the highway, leading to a major chain of events. The random appearances of flying saucers in season 2 are highly consequential. In the following season a mysterious, somewhat omniscient being counsels both Officer Gloria Burgle and Nicki Swango on the inexplicable workings of our world. He also provides a getaway car and, we assume, some long delayed karma to the goon Yuri. And, in season 4 we get another random twister that inadvertently redirects the life of the young man who will later become Mike Milligan. Things just seem to happen….

I liked when the little boy opened the door in the hotel after the tornado it was color like when Dorothy opened the door after the tornado in Oz everything was then in color.

Best episode of the season

Yup. That cut to black was definitely a commercial break cuz this aired on the FX channel on Television.

Hype. Love an episode that pulls from Oz, Fink and A Serious Man. The latter is highly recommended. It's all over S3 as well. Also glad to see folks not get pulled out due to the twister. Shoutout to Pecos Hank and his annual storm chasing series. I like to think that the sick man is the Irish leader, if only even figuratively, a demon or ghost reaching for Sachel. There's plenty to dislike about this season but this last 4 episode stretch is pretty great.

There was tons of homages to other movies. Alice and wonderland, wizard of ozz, just off the top of my head. Too bad Rabbi gotten taken out. It’s funny that the kid lost rabbi but got a dog named rabbit. Season 5 is great You got to get watching Legion series. X-men with Fargo writing, setting, craziness, directing, editing

If you haven’t watched alot of black and white movies….“Psycho” would surprise you if you haven’t seen it.

I'm sure you guys have been told this several times before, but Fargo the show takes inspirations from every Coen brothers movie, not just Fargo the movie. This episode is their Barton Fink homage (to me anyway)
