Market Update and Farm Chores Are NEVER Done!
Here is an update on our new farmer's market set-up. We've implemented some suggestions from our viewers.
Its also another day on the farm where chores like feeding chickens, caring for pigs and moving cows are never done!
And yes, we do watch Pete at “Just A Few Acres Farm”

How about getting a flat screen tv and make a video showing all the animals in there natural environment and play that on the screen over and over. Also advertise your you tube site and say something like watch how it is done , animal welfare comes first on our farm

Chuck, you should have taken those turtles back up to the barn, lite some candles and put on some romantic soft music! I know you don’t smoke, they may need a little cigarette afterward.

I would put signs up above each freezer BEEF, CHICKEN, PORK with some prices per pound signs. Love your channel watch you all the time.

I would do signs above each freezer of what's in there so the temp can stay standard instead of it opening/closing so much for ppl to look or wonder what's inside. Put "Chicken, Beef, Pork" set up looks great.

As we move toward food production like yours, there will be more competition. Hopefully, the customer base will grow. RU-vid is driving most of the growth in small farm production and it is where most people are learning to run their businesses (copying you). Prices (customer-driven), creativity, and determination will determine which small farms will survive until the novelty of this wears off. Don't lose the composer. customers like happy salesmen.

Think about something that’ll make you stand out. One idea would be to put a coat tree right at your ramp. Get some (a bunch) of colorful kitchen aprons of all kinds. It’ll make people notice you. And it’s right at the ramp.

One thing you gotta consider also Unc Chuck while you’re brain storming. Those “Skinny Jean” people are also getting up to sale maybe not meat,produce and by products.. But they are also competing when it comes to appeal. You gotta catch that eye. Yall are on the right track keep pushing!! Add to the walls on the inside . Your tags for socials ,that screen with the video playing, your price per pound gotta get the word out about the market and that you are at the market and not kroger!! You got this 💪🏽💪🏽

Have you checked out the markets in Statesville? We were asked to bring beef to one of them because they only have a pork vender. We are too small and don't have beef at the moment. Can't remember which one, they have several.

Too bad this happens. we are in the big city with skinny pants. Some of our markets limit some of the vendors so everyone can make a living.

You both are doing such a good job . There was this company who decided to copy my advertisements and my business cards They believed they had the right to do so because they were a different type of business. I spoke with them and told them they needed to stop unfortunately I had to take them to court. In some cases it could damage your company when someone else copies what you have had in place for your business

You can't stop 'copy cats' in business, however, you can be one step ahead of them. Just remember customer acquisition. Get their information, ask permission to contact them from time to time with specials, and take pre-orders. Also, have Saundra greet customers at the door. People love conversation.

I think you’ve talked in the past about doing cooking demos with your pasture raised chicken. Maybe have a few recipes available for your pork and beef as well. Continue to show why your grass fed beef is better the. Commercial market. Best of luck to you and Sandra on your ongoing ventures.

Save electricity, hatch with a buffy. You have several willing volunteers. Thankfully my Buffy from Saturday is over her broody stint. But I can lock mine out of the coop part of the day. She only fluffed up at me. I talked to her sweetly after pulling her out. Gave them all a few strawberries. Lizards are better but I can't catch a lizard. My coworkers don't believe my chickens act like children. They think I exaggerate.

People will always copy successful folks - but pretty brazen to do it at the same market! In the closing moments of your video, I saw you have an all-metal chicken tractor. Is that a DIY unit or was it purchased? I should think it would be a fair amount lighter and easier to move than the wooden ones. Take care and God Bless.

Great job on your fix-it project. We love Sandra but not her geese Enjoy the race. Just a little insight for you NASCAR types. If a person who devotes himself to painting arts is called an artist and a person who loves and plays the cello is a cellist, then what do you call one who loves to go to a NASCAR race?

Your not so subtle digs at Saundra only indicates you both are coming of age as farmers. You each have your own style and won't always agree. But that is how you grow.
