My wife and I visited Corpus Christi back in 1997 or 1998(?) during the Summer. It was 100 F degrees day and night, humidity was like 98% but never rained. Went for a swim there and it was like swimming in piss it was so warm. I never have sweated so much on a vacation in my life. But, I was excited to visit the USS Lexington. Read almost every poster and board explaining the history of the ship.

Yep gets plenty hot in summer... definitely they chose the right time of the year to tour the Lex... you don't want to go into the Battleship Texas or the submarine you can tour down in Galveston in summer... or the Railroad museum down there either. We took my wife's brother since he loves trains and they have a TON of the old streamliners and stuff from the heyday of rail travel-- but in the high 90's and the famous south Texas humidity they're like ovens in summertime! Ya shoulda gone an hour or so west of San Antonio out 90 to Garner State Park, and swam in the Frio River-- crystal clear spring fed water, rapids, ride the tubes, or swim in the deeper holes below the dam and around the bend under the face of Old Baldy (mountain cliff overlooking the river). The Frio is ice cold year round and just WONDERFUL on a hot Texas day! San Marcos ain't bad either, that stretch of the Guadalupe River is pretty clear, but being just east of San Antonio a ways it's VERY touristy and overrun with people a lot-- I like Garner because it's more remote and fewer people, at least early or late in the season LOL:) Plus the Hill Country out there is BEAUTIFUL! OL J R :)

Yep LOT of guys have some variation of those Dew-Eze bale beds down here... different styles/manufacturers. Some have just bale spears that fold out the back of the bed, back the truck into the bale, then lift it up vertical and run down the road. The Dew-Eze beds like that one are neat because you can actually haul TWO bales at once... pick one up, drop it on the bed, fold the arms back, grab another, and pick it up til it's snug against the first one, and take off... GREAT way to feed in bad weather where you have several places to go... if you have a small rented place or far pasture with just a few cows, you can unroll a bale or part of a bale, as much as the cows need for a day or two, and then keep the rest of the bale on the unroller spikes and run down the road to the next farm/pasture, unroll the rest there... then if you have a bigger pasture or place with enough to eat a whole bale, you can unroll it or drop it in a ring or whatever you want to do. We unroll a lot of our bales here on our sandy, hilly ground, because the cattle seem to make better use of it with less waste, and the sandy ground on the tops and hillsides tend to stay firm enough that the cattle don't trample in hay and waste it. SO the unrolling spikes on the arms are really nice. For guys that rent a lot of pastures or have a lot of smaller places scattered around, it's a really great, easy way to feed. Only thing that irritates the SH!T out of me is, guys will cut their netwrap and then toss the wad on the flatbed, and of course it blows off somewhere along the way, usually in front of ours or someone else's farm, never on their own. Just really sh!tty. They should make a container or something to hold onto the twine/net cut off the bales, because a lot of guys are "too busy" (too lazy truthfully) to put the d@mn stuff into an old feed sack in the back floor of the truck or put a milk crate or something to toss the sh!t into and then toss it in their burn ring when they get back home. Some people just suck... Later! OL J R :)

Awesome video Ryan and Hannah thanks for letting us see some of the new machinery coming out and it was great seeing Hannah with you as it's been awhile seeing her with you on your videos. Have you ever thought about going to the show in California as alot of farming You Tubers out there at various booths and showing there trip on there channel. Ryan I think your operation would benefit another truck and trailer and maybe seeing Hannah driving the other truck and get her involved with the family operation. Have you and Travis thought about putting up some more bins to increase your storage on the farm since these grain prices have been getting to be very speratic lately and have you ever thought about getting one of those drive over pit dumps so you could use the truck more during harvest. Glad that you video your trip to Louisville farm show so us people that don't go can see what all goes on and what they have to show what's new in Agriculture.

If you ever go back to Corpus Christi, if you drive about maybe 40-45 minutes northwest, to Kingsville, you can tour the King Ranch. It's a pretty nice tour if you're into history and the cattle business. They have a nice little museum/tourist center and then you board a big air conditioned passenger bus and ride through the ranch, and they show some of the cattle, wildlife, and talk about the ranch history, drive by the huge old ranch house, before covid they stopped at the saddle shop where they made all their own tack and saddles for the ranch, etc. Really nice if you like western history type stuff. There's a really nice bigger museum in town (Kingsville). Padre Island national seashore is really nice too... we usually take the Indiana inlaws out there when they come down. My niece braved the cold to take a dip in February-- it's not THAT cold LOL:) Sorta like the Frio River west of San Antonio in summertime LOL:) (It's spring fed crystal clear water at Garner State Park and the surrounding area, so the water temp is about the same year round-- COLD! Sure is nice in the summer heat though!) Course down on the other end of Padre Island just north of Brownsville is where Elon Musk has built his new spaceport and is testing the StarShip... haven't been down there myself with gas prices as they are and everything going on but been itching to go... Course here in Shiner "the cleanest little city in Texas" we have the Spoetzl Brewery, home of Shiner beer, which you can tour and get a handful of wooden nickels to get free beer in the tasting room, plus they have a nice gift shop. The tour takes you through the brewery and discusses how the beer is made, the history of the brewery, and then ends up in an observation deck over the bottling plant. Next town northwest of here is Gonzales, where the Texas Revolution began, just west of town at a little settlement called "Cost" where there's all the monuments. Nice museum there in Gonzales about the Revolution. San Antonio, about an hour and a half west, of course has the Alamo, where the Texans fought the Mexican Army under Santa Anna and got wiped out, including Davey Crockett. Down in Goliad, which is about an hour south of here, a Mexican Army captured La Bahia fort and massacred the garrison, forcing them to draw beans from a jar-- a white bean meant you lived, a black bean meant they killed you. Then there was the long retreat of the "Runaway Scrape" as Sam Houston led the Texan Army and a massive exodus of civilian refugees eastward toward San Antonio, until finally he got to the swamps around San Jacinto just east of Houston proper, on the modern Houston Ship Channel, where he turned and fought the Mexican Army, trapping them between the swamp and river and basically wiped them out in about a brief but devastating battle. Santa Anna fled about 10 miles NW and was captured near the present-day Washburn tunnel, and was marched back into the POW camp, having removed his resplendent uniform and taken refuge in the dirty uniform of a private. He signed the peace treaty with Texas to spare his own life. Thus the Republic of Texas was born in 1836 as our own country. We agreed to join the United States in 1846 (and it's been downhill ever since IMHO LOL but that's another story). Lots to see and do, and terrific food in the meantime. Best BBQ you'll ever eat is in this part of the country, particularly some of the joints in Lockhart, about 45 minutes north of here. Later! OL J R :)

If it wasn't for dealer locations, I've joked on your brother's channel that a fastrac would be a good second runner/chore tractor with the 7200. I can see how choosing your next purchase if it is those two is difficult. Faster harvest or a second chore tractor you can keep at your place.

@@hannahsmith239 Where's your sense of adventure?? LOL:) BTW when you're on the beach around that time of year in Texas, be sure to look out for little purplish/pinkish things that look sorta like a half-inflated baggie floating in the water, with a crinkled edge... those are Portuguese man-o-wars, a type of jellyfish with long trailing tentacles that can sting you, even if they're up on land. I got stung by one or a jellyfish proper when I was a kid-- don't recommend it! No fun at all. Yall were probably there ahead of them, but you gotta look and be careful a bit because every year varies a little. Regular clear jellyfish can be around too sometimes, usually later in the year, and when they wash up on the beach they look like a glob of gelatinous goo.. but you still have to be careful about stepping on tentacles which can sting. The water is great once you get in it... Later! OL J R :)

Looks like it was a great machinery show - farmers get all the cool tools. And what a great combo vid with 2 of my favorite things - farmin' vids and airplanes / WW2 ships. If you ever get out to Oahu, I highly recommend a visit to the Missouri and the Arizona (both are powerful, moving experiences). If you like WW2 ships, check out Ryan Z over on the Battleship New Jersey YT channel.

Last time I flew was pre-9/11. Flew out of Newark to Orlando with my girlfriend at the time and her family-- went to RatWorld. Fun fun, glad it was February in Florida. I thought Texas got humidity! LOL:) Put my daughter on the plane a couple times since then, once when she was little and her Grandma in Indiana was passing away, and again this past summer. I was surprised TSA wasn't as bad as I figured. I had to go through it all to walk her down to the gates and put her on the plane. I still prefer driving everywhere myself LOL:) I can be in northern Indiana from south central Texas in 2 days easy, with some nice stops along the way for stuff, without really pushing. I drove it straight through in 20 hours one time when my Dad was in the hospital just before he passed away, though I don't recommend doing that. Later! OL J R :)
