Ack! Today was a Farmall disaster! I continue teardown and assessment of the Farmall MD engine, removing the pistons for evaluation, inspecting the cylinder sleeves, and measuring the main and rod bearing clearances on the crankshaft. What I find is extremely disappointing, and means I would need to spend a lot more money rebuilding the engine than I initially thought. Should I continue and spend the money? (after all, it's an old family tractor) Or is this tractor just too expensive to repair?
