Ha! I was just talking to Erik about how you worked your fields with basic equipment. He argued you can't get smooth fields without big expensive equipment. So don't be surprised if he's commenting on lots of videos, lol
Be careful heating zerk fittings FF. I remember in a shop a guy heated one and the little ball shot out and luckily hit him in the cheek and not in the eye. It went in enough to get stitches. Of course this was before safety glasses were cool
Wow, that ground looks dry. Same here in Clearfield County. Trouble there's not a great deal of rain in the long range forecast .Looks like you've picked up a nice implement that will last you quite a few years ahead and the nice part is that they seem to operate pretty quietly. More often that not the opposite happens with farm auction equipment. Chalk up another auction win for the Farmall Fanatic .
That disc has what appears to be the old style "box" cast iron bearings. The old Ford discs had those type bearings. Wish you wouldn't hack on the Deere folks by blowing them up that way. I have operated most all colors in my 62 years but I bleed green. Working on a 1949 B model refurbishment right now...
Nice job! I was out at Greenhill yesterday and I saw an H with a narrow front in the auction rows. It actually looked nice other than the back tires just ok. The fuel bowl looked good and it has a hydraulic side hill hitch. Of course there will be a huge crowd at that sale.
@@FarmallFanatic it isn't till the following Saturday the 17th, the same day as the sale at Wattsburg. There will be a lot more stuff there by this time next week.
I would like to see some nite plowing with a little blue flame out the stack.. I used to pick up a gear after sundown. Cool damp air. Try a drag on the back of the disc. Cement blocks to adjust weight. Use 2 by 6 3 across and two coming up to top frame in the middle of back gangs drag at about 30 or 35 drgree angle . can't move on the road .. We used a sled . 2 disks on the sled.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. How cool is that. I'm tickled pink for ya. They've already paid for themselves (almost). Your H has a new tool. Now check out that other 8' disc. Going to look at a non running Super M tomorrow.
I have a wide front m like yours (not nearly as nice a seat) but otherwise similar lol. As well as a narrow front h that I plow with using a 2 bottom little genius. Excellent machines those farmalls. I disc with a ford 2n, good tractors also lol
The mighty H handles those like a champ buddy I just picked up a set of IH 10’ disks that I think it would pull just fine. I can pull them with my little 901 ford in third gear
A nice old feller up the road here a couple miles from me. He just used them for working up his kids 4-H horse arena. It needs a few scrapers and a wheel bearing but for $350 I couldn’t let them get away
my H turned 31hp with the 7:1 compression oversize pistons qnd high compression gas head before the upgrade could only pull an 8 ft drag disk after the upgrade a 10ft in 3rd gear most of the time 2nd in heavy ground.
Hello, I think that your discs may be worn down just a bit which may have caused part of the issue with the discs not turning as they should at first. Always Remember that the grease gun is your best friend in keeping your equipment up and going like it should. The ribbed agricultural tread tires made the discs look much better than the old “Maypops” that you usually see on used farm implements and wagons. Best Regards From Versailles,Ky.
You happy with the weight of it ? Solid day for the H right there. Proves me point again that a four wheel drive of the same HP would be SOL with a pull disk that size. Meanwhile IH walks off with it thru plowed ground. Haha I like that finger for a pin. Least a finger would holler when it falls out 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
@@FarmallFanatic lmk if any lucky volunteers come forth , sure would be handy to have 10 finger pins at my ready. I go thru a handful a year. If I use all 10 , I’m worried it may leave the next guy a bit shorthanded 😂
That standing corn is so tempting to slice n dice with that new toy. Worked that ground very well, thinking about it. Pretty specific style disc. I agree, def IH 👌.
Thank you for the video! love hearing and seeing the H at work, OH, what happened to the "Hat Cam"? I know it was taking time to get used to it, or did it go by the wayside? Again, Love the video.
@@FarmallFanatic Yea! I know I saw a camera that fits on the brim of a hat, but you are right, you were trying the Glasses Cam. I think the glasses would be safer then trying to disc, drive and film behind you? But you'd be looking behind you while driving? Too funny. Lets Go Lets Grow!
Well, originally we thought it was a John Deere. And that was swiftly nolafied. And then I thought it was a Pittsburgh. And then somebody did figure it out but I can't remember the name of it, it is really weird.
