I have to agree with you on that one there are some really ugly designer bags and I have alot of designer dupes and have done a haul on my channel where I went to the markets here where I am and I got some great dupes I have a couple of real designer bags got them for a bargain but even if I had millions of dollars I wouldn't buy them for the label I would buy them if I love the style of the bag also people need to check out therealreal.com they have alot of items on there cheap and check out Amber Scholl channel to
When I found out that pretty much all the pearls on Chanel "haute jewelry" are "faux pearls" & still had the audacity to price them the way they were I was done with the brand. Girl bye.
It's interesting when the founder started the affordable faux jewelry trend to keep up with changing fashions but now brand marketing tries to trick the consumer into thinking the jewelry has any kind of value and charges more than if it was the real thing. Why do people fall for cheap marketing like that?
chanel sells fine jewelry (gold, white gold, diamonds, pearls) and costume jewelry (resin, faux pearls, crystals) the price points are so far apart but still overpriced
@@rosewatersaffron8430 Great point. I don't think it's consumers' fault to fall for their marketing, since their entire persona is elegance and high quality & they're priced high enough for people to think they're real pearls (similar to Mikimoto for example) . Their concept of fine jewelry is intentionally misleading.
Theresa Roemer was robbed (her closet) a few years back and the robber was so pissed at her because they turned out to be fakes (allegedly). I laughed so hard when I found that out
I remember that story lol. I think she even said in the interview on the robbery she didn't care if they bought the bags back. She just wanted a ring from mom back and a lock of her son's hair that they also stole apparently. Now I see why she didnt care lol.
Theresa Roemer is a typical nouveau riche Texan. She knows very little about fashion other than what her commission Neiman’s Saks, etc. associates tell her. (I grew up in the biz). For a person who spends 98% of her time in A/C she doesn’t have to worry about how hot black can be in Texas. Btw, she is NOT an heiress she had a string of gyms that made money then she married very well. She gets invites because she likes to spend money, not due to her taste and appreciation.
This is a good description of her. I’ve watched a few of her videos and none of them were stylish. Just big closet, big closet, these bodysuits she got on sale, some guy not her husband, big closet, big closet. I was hoping for haute couture but no. It was a strange RU-vid moment for me.
She was actually in a scandal about this after her closet was robbed. The thief reached out to news reporters saying that the closet was full of fakes and sent them pieces confirmed to be hers. So, who knows 🤷🏻♀️
Katrina Esguerra this shouldn’t be funny at all, but it is... what thief is mad because they robbed a house full of fakes. The audacity! Jokes on him! 😂😂😂
@tkjspeaks She's well known for having a lot of counterfeit items. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--7I6mbTF47I.html She specifically said in a past video that the rocket bag is fake.
Isn’t this the woman who got a lot of her “designer” clothes and accessories robbed, and then the robbers called her back to say everything stolen was fake??!!
I'm noticing a lot of her bags are "off" compared to the channel pics of what's supposed to be those bags. Does that mean they're fake? I know people claim a lot of her stuff is fake
@@eclipse8482 I wonder why she does this? To me it just doesn't make sense. I mean she's got money, that's obvious. You'd figure she'd just buy what she really wanted, that's actually real, idk lol.
@@boogiemonstermom677 Actualy she doesn't have that much money. She is rich, but not super rich. Her net worth was estimated at 1 million. That includes her house, cars, etc. Which means she might not have that much disposable money to buy that quantity of real designer pieces.
@@rbguerreiro2466 I see. That's still a lot more then most have though. I think personally if I was in her position though, I'd still just buy a few pieces I really liked, instead of trying to create a collection of fakes to pass off as real. Even with just a few pieces, you'd still end up having a lot more than the average person.
"To each their own...oh, that's hideous." "No! I'm not a big fan of these studded bags...I think it just looks tacky and sad and gross." "Oh, I hate that...no...bench her, put her away, throw her out, she's done." "Do I like it? No, but it's there." I feel like you were holding back in this video, Luke. I wish you had told us what you really thought. 😂😂 BTW, I love your chain bracelet!! ❤️
How many of those are real? She already had to come out and admit she has several fake Birkins. I don't even care when people have fake bags, I just hate when people try to floss.
Luke, PLEASE BE AWARE most of her bags are FAKE!! the first fake is the Chanel rocket clutch as you can see from the one she has hanging, its missing crystals and the opening is different. Be Careful with what she says.
I agree about the fakes but real Chanel can have missing crystals. All their studs/stones are almost all fake costume gems - even on the real bags & accessories.
Nadia my real CC earrings kept loosing gems (they replace them for free at Chanel you just mail them. But why mention “don’t wear perfume on them!” Now I buy real gold only...)
I dunno if maybe I just don't have taste, but I didn't like a single bag aside from the little rocket ship bc it's kinda fun. And even then I couldn't even DREAM of ever owning one. Also I started to feel almost physically sick listening to her talk about her bags. She just holds it up and says: "Isn't that cute?" and then throws it on the ground??? And then she considers them investments which like, you're spending so much money on this thing that's meant to be used for fashion and fashion is always fluctuating? So? Just buy what you enjoy! I dunno, sometimes it seems like rich people don't do things for their own enjoyment, they do things to either flaunt their wealth, seem wealthier than they are, or one day become wealthier than they are. Either way, I enjoyed the video!! ♥ As someone who's intrigued at what the fashion world is doing without really participating in it, these videos are always so interesting!!
Don’t worry that means you have taste and a brain. Brand/designer doesn’t mean it’s good. Most ready to wear stuff for example is just vile. Think Gucci: there collections look good but what people wear are those ugly monogram shirts bc they think it’s fashion.
That's just the "new money", they tend to flaunt their wealth. Old Money families are mostly into curating and archiving fashion as art pieces. And tbh, it might be just New Money in the West, bc New Money from the East (like Middle East, Singapore, Korea, etc.) are into fashion as an art collection. Go watch Heart Evangelista's closet tour, or watch the video done by Harper's Bazaar called "These are the REAL Crazy Rich Asians".... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g01YnqH-2ek.html
Money really cant buy Taste. Some of these bags are CHOICES... but also at the same time, i love her individuality and the selfish conviction of "i bought it because I like it, not because I want to impress or please others". Love that.
This really makes me wonder 🤔. With most Chanel bags costing $5-10,000 a piece, how Does she have so many ? You'd really only get between 10-20 bags for 100,000
Teresa: I don’t care about the name or the price tag, I want it! It’s cute! Also Teresa: I started being more selective and I pick the most valuable bags that won’t depreciate.
lego bricks are sustainable toys in that you can build a helicopter.toy or a car toy or truck toy instead of buying separate toys when u get tired of them
As someone who lives in Texas (specifically South Texas) and also likes wearing black quite a bit, I can confirm that it (literally) gets hot and sweaty when wearing black. (For reference, today the high was 95°F and yesterday was 100°F.)
2 new books with access to new info confirm this- even before the war she was well a well known anti-Semite- the Chanel owners try to keep this under wraps because it might hurt the brand.
The two tote bags she showed are called "deuville" bags and reference that Chanel had her first(?) shop in Deauville which is a beach side town. They are beach bags, made out of canvas. Nothing relating to tweed. I wish I had an entire collection of them that I could use up,and buy more because I love them as a modern day briefcase. They are totally my taste and function. Thanks for teaching me to say "reference". Iove learning about fashion. Thanks for sharing.
Some of those Chanels are more than $20,000 so...im almost positive her Chanel collection is well over $100,000. Plus i believe she gets bags especially made for her (like how Hermés does)
Hope she didn't get scammed by someone for the vanity case at 29:42, it's a counterfeit 👀 (edit: turned my 1080 on and spotted many more fakes. nvm it's definitely intentional at this point 😂)
Honestly the ones that were most interesting to me and that I was most glad to see were the ones I would NEVER buy, the cute kitschy ones. LEGO, suitcase, beach ball, tweed jacket, spaceship, perfume bottle, scarab etc
Hermès bags do retain value, and often have a great ROI, but I do agree that most bags and brands are not the greatest investment. I’m sure that she has people that can guide her in what will retain most of its value when she goes shopping though.
I watched this because i’d rather watch luke than teresa roemer. Lol. I hope you react to one of Jaime Xie’s thousand dollar unboxings. Xos from the Philippines!
I think that with Chanel price increase every year, it’s gonna be a good investment. However I think that it would only apply to the classic one such as the classic flap or the reissue. You can compare the price of a classic flap from year to year and see how these bags in the secondhand market are worth for.
I live in Alberta, Canada, where almost 50% of American oil comes from. We have beautiful mountains, lakes as well as wide open prairies and gorgeous cowboys! Since we have been "blessed" with oil, many farmers who had been on their land for generations are pulling up stakes and moving away. I knew one family walked away with their 5th generation son because of the air pollution from the flaring of the oil wells on their historic homestead. So glad to see it was all for a great cause!
How awesome would it have been for her to do a “Bag of the day” look. Show you what outfit you could pair the bag with, which ones went with what season, different ways to wear/carry the bag, etc. She could have had so many people tuned in to her videos daily. I would have, because it’s interesting to see the whole outfit be put together. So many times were shown the shoes, shown the clothes, shown the bags & accessories, but aren’t shown what goes with what, why you bought this piece to go with this other piece. I just think it be fabulous & interesting to see a different spin on the whole “Closet Tour” thing being shown in more detail, putting pieces together, shown being worn. Especially since everyone was stuck at home mostly bored with nothing to do. She could have given us Clueless every single day!
I agree with what you’re saying about designer items not really being the best way to investment your money; I sorta view my designer items as a savings account since I can sell items whenever I’d like to down the line. I love design across the board, whether it’s architecture, handbags, jewelry, etc. I really appreciate the thought process that went behind the sketches for the final result. If I want to place my money somewhere, it’s simply a more fun experience to be able to wear a token that holds a certain range of value, rather than just letting it sit in a savings account. Typically a savings account has really low interest rates, on top of general inflation that we can’t avoid, and because of that in my eyes it’s not really a smart move to keep *large* amounts of money in a savings account Tldr; I love design and I love finances. Designer items can be a fun and immersive way to set aside money while at the same time using someone’s art
(Please don’t use designer items as a substitute for investing into something like the stock market or real estate. Im not counting on my closet to carry me through my retirement down the line)
@@whynot7802 and unfortunately she wears dresses as low cut as possible showing them discolored (not sure why the skin is so sketchy 🤔) boobs sagging to her waist. Very Miranda Priestly 🤣 Very Jackie O 🤣 very Tasteful 🤣
I appreciate the comment that not all of fashion will be a return on investment. Trends change so much and I am just not sure that luxury will age well over time to where these will be worth as much money as people think. They might...
I've been binging your channel for the past three days and it is amazing, even for someone like me who knows nothing about fashion and you'll definitely roast if you see how i dress😁
okay okay okay this is probably just the gen z jumping outta me but is anyone else mildly horrified at the concept of owning this much stuff. like first of all i’d be overwhelmed and probably never go in my closet, and second of all who could possibly use up that much stuff in a lifetime?? i love fashion and i want to learn everything about it but holy shit i could never live this way
I love that you’re wearing an apron. I designed an apron dress and it’s basically an underdress with an over apron that you can change color, aprons or patterned aprons over the basic color dress sleepless, dress or three-quarter sleep whatever it’s all about the apron you can throw your phone in like a little pocket in the front, the back is like a belt, not bow and I design that 15 years ago, I said to my housemate someday they’re gonna come out with aprons as style not just for the kitchen anymore
For those that may not know, Chanel is very well known for using *caviar leather.* It's that textured leather made from calfskin with grains or 'pebbling'. It's particularly favoured for handbags because it's strong and does a decent job of fending off scratches. #hautelemode is there enough information out there to talk about Drake's handbag collection? It only comes to mind, because most of the time we're looking at the collections of the owner and why they bought it all. I'm only curious about the Drake collection, because I don't think many people collect handbags for a future wife that they still haven't met. 🤷♀️
Does Drake really have a bag collection for his future wife?! That strikes me as really unsettling and controlling - how do you know the taste of a woman you don't know?
@@DrT0705 It was featured in a Harper's Bazaar article from April. If it's intended as a gift in terms of investment pieces then that's one thing. If the intention is she's expected to use them when he wants her to, then that's a whole other conversation.
That's fair. I could even see her being gifted fakes as a gag gift or collecting them herself for the same reason. I've known collectors of other things who also, deliberately collect the knockoff version just for lols
re: the big hula hoop bags, they originally didn't go into production, so almost no one could actually buy them. it was made exclusively for the runway, and i can only assume that a couple of super rich people may have quietly commissioned one for themselves. then chanel caved and made a limited run for retail sale because the bag was so popular. nowadays they're worth around $30,000 😅
Btw I thought you might like to know that she has a brand new closet!!! She sold her Mansion and bought another mansion( well.. she calls it her ranch or compound..) and she for year now has filmed the whole process of her literally gutting and re-designing , knocking out walls , adding windows, rasing ceilings, lowering floors , put in a pool and built a bar next to the pool with a fireplace and a huge area woth couches and seating with huge ceiling fans and there is a bathroom with shower and changing room ...it looks like a beach resort bar next to the pool its gorg.. she also has a 2story 6 car garage or barn ...whatever it was and the upstairs had a 3 bedroom huge apartment, and she gutted and remodeled that into a beautiful 4 bedroom house!!!! Theresa Roemer designed it all... CLOSET!!! OKAY HER CLOSET! IT IS ONLY 1 STORY THIS TIME and the SQUARE FOOTAGE is jist as big as her 3 story closet and is so exquisite and absolutely stunning. The ceilings are like 20 ft high then there are beautiful french doors that open to an outside sitting area landscaped beautifully and the seating area is surrounded by rose bushes and some beautiful lighting in the evening.. ALL I KNOW IS YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT IMMEDIATELY!!!!! ITS MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHER ONE! THE JOURNEY WATCHING HER DESIGNGUT AND REMODEL THISMANSION AND THE BUYING OF FURITURE AND ALL LINDS OF SHOPPING AND TELLING THE BUILDERS WHAT TO DO..AND WHEN THEY FINISHED ,LETS SAY A ROOM THAT TOOK THEM DAYS TO FINISH SHE WILL CHANGE HER MIND AND MAKE THEM START OVER.... IT IS SO ENTERTAINING! ON HER CHANNEL YOU CAN WATCH THEWHOLE PROCESS 3 DAYS A WEEK A NEW VIDEO ON MONDAY , WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY.... I DIGRESSSSSSSS..❤️
When she pulls out the classics...'I would buy more kitschy type ones bc no one else will have it' When she pulls out kitschy bag...'I would never..' Lol LaMode😅😅
About her chanel red perfume bottle bag. As far as i know Chanel only made 3 colors, transparent, black, and marble. I never heard if Chanel ever made to order on their leather goods, only for couture department. So that’s a big question mark here. I enjoyed your vids so much. And enjoy Theresa’s closet its very entertaining and fun to watch. But many time she does Haul videos/flashing out what she just bought. I always caught something. Like for her last video that she shows her new Chanel water bottle. And only if you look at the box it’s came with...Gurlllll that’s not how it should be.. Chanel water bottle bag came in big square box with suede interior and its own slot to secure the bottle it’s $9000 right? There nooooo way that chanel just gonna throw them in a dust bag and put em in the box.
I feel for a bag to be an investment it has to be very limited edition and/or have some sort of original artwork on it that then further turns it into an art piece. But it's all dependent upon the designer and artist making the bag and their popularity.
React to Jennie from BLACKPINK style! Or maybe Rosé (she combines cheap items with luxury items usually in her accesories). Or maybe their style in the Ice Cream Music video or How You Like That 💗💗 I think it would be really interesting since all the members of BLACKPINK represent a fashion brand: Jennie- Chanel Jisoo-Dior Rosé-Saint Laurent Lisa-Celine, Bvlgari, Prada
