This was all great fun to watch. I did not watch the 80's cuz, well I am not much into the 80's dolls. But you all did a fine job of finding the most obscure as well as popular fashion dolls. I may just have to find some on Ebay now. Now, look what you did!

Hi Deany! Sorry so late to the game. This was fun! I only had heard of three of the dolls, one being the Dinah-Mite as I have a couple. Great job and so much history to gather!

Hey Sis! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, you have that other version of her don't you? Dinah-Mite is so cool! As you know, I have been getting into the Mego dolls big time lately. I have Candi, Maddie Mod, Cher, WW, and even a Candi/Jordache Knock-off. Thank you ❤️

i really like that ChuChu doll! She would most likely just sit in my playroom, untouched, but i would definitely like to have one. i have never had a favorite Barbie doll. Not until my early thirties (Black Barbie). i grew up just loving Barbie. Just about any Barbie doll that had a commercial because it added to the fantasy world and most of those commercials were very charming. Especially the playset commercials. The jingles are laughable today, but i remember them fondly and i sing them to myself at random from time to time. This was great, guys! Good show!
@DeanReen

Isn't she the most! I absolutely adore them. They are so strange yet, they draw you in! Those sausage legs too! ADORABLE! 😂❤️ Oh, I loved them all too. That is why I let Raymond pick for me. Those two are definitely important as they started the whole obsession. But there are many dolls I love. Some of which I never owned. So glad you liked the video! ❤️ It is so much fun, even if it is a pain to edit 😂❤️

@@DeanReen i think the editing part is what hinders me from taking my own channel seriously. i really don't like being bothered to edit anything. i REALLY have to be in the mood for it and that rarely happens. Even when i'm in the mood for it, i hate it. i'd rather leave that to the pros. 😉

My favorite childhood doll is Barbie Asian friend Kira. I just love her face mold, gorgeous makeup and fashion style. Also, I love my CPK(cabbage Patch kids).

My sisters had tonnes of CPK! I never liked them and they weren't as big when I was a kid. I do remember them on store shelves though. I love Miko, but not so much Kira. I feel the makeup became too much. One doll I do love and don't yet own is Singapore Girl!

I so enjoyed this video! I’m with Joey with Aimee…I love Crissy, but I can’t with Aimee. Her face reminds of that sort of fake smile mean ladies do. My favorite childhood doll would be Whitney. All of them. So sad Ultra Hair Whitney was an European exclusive ,she is so expensive now. I had Whitney as a kid and I literally stared at her face for hours. I thought she was so glamorous with her dark hair and pouty lips. I thought she outshone Barbie.
@DeanReen
@DeanReen 2 года назад
I am so glad! Thank you ❤️ Oh NO! Poor Aimee! I think she is beautiful. I love Crissy too. It's the size of them that gets me though. I have my Aussie Crissy that is Tuesday Taylors size and I love her (although she is completely different 😂). I am thinking of reviewing Jewel Secrets Whitney for my next video. I have been hanging out to open her for the longest time now. She is VERY pretty. i would have loved Whitney growing up. She really DID outshine Barbie. I always found that so strange.

I am a Sindy doll fan (ballerina Sindy) because she could actually ride horses and her horsey things weren't all in unrealistic pink. Sweet Roses PG was so pretty and she smelled nice and came with a gown that looked like petals sewn together. Also Fred von Plasty was kinda ugly but had beautiful hair. The bodies on the male dolls fell apart easily. So pleased to see i am not the only adult still in love with fashion dolls.

Totally agree! Sindy was so much more realist which I love. I just wish the doll varied a bit more. You are definitely not alone ❤️😊

Great show! Pink N' Pretty was by far my favorite Barbie, too. I always felt like Gwyneth Paltrow's pink oscar look was inspired by her (she's exactly my age), but I have no proof!

Oh look it’s the three stooges lol only kidding, love you guys. It’s really interesting seeing all these dolls and I thought I new it all, ha no way there are like a thousand I missed out on hahaha. I love Barbie, But I’m more a princess Disney doll lover as well, I know it’s not your flavour but there still 11” dolls that I love so much. My favourite doll line in the day and believe me I never had them but I do now is the Heart Family as well.🥰 go Raymond🤗 and as a baby doll baby alive mu cousin had and I used to love playing with her when I went over. Keep up the great work Gurls and Werk it 🥂🍾🌈🧚🏻‍♀️

OMIGOSH! I bags being Moe! It is crazy to think we still didn't cover everything. With each line there are more dolls and friends etc. And I'm sure we missed so much more. That's what makes this hobby so much fun! We did say we would do a Mattel Disney series but I cut that bit out as I didn't want to make any promises. We will see though. I do want a few Disney dolls but very specific ones. I look now and then but there are never any available. The Heart Family seems to be very popular. I do want the Black Surprise Party Mom but my gosh is she expensive! Thank you!! ❤️

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what is that doll that Joey has been holding throughout the video. The weird nightmare fuel one with the headphones and the stripped shirt. I know I've seen it before but can't remember. Does anyone know?

8:55 The reason why they fell off, in 1984 at the time hasbro acquired the licensed to Takara, to sell transformers in the US market at that time. And that cost some strain between the relationship of Takara and Mattel. To make the matters worst Mattel was worried that Takara leaked some secrets to Hasbro and Takara didn’t make an effort to sell more Mattel products such as He-Man and other Mattel products.that’s why they discontinued producing Takara Barbie. Thus Takara Jenny was born, after the split up from Mattel and Takara to rebrand Takara Barbie , They also rebranded Ken to Jeff. After the split up Bandai and Mattel had sign the contract to continue Barbie in Japanese market, Ma-ba was a subsidiary company that mass produce/launched Barbie in 1986 to Japanese market, Ma-ba also is responsible to mass produced other Mattel products in japan at that time. There’s also a legal battle between Takara, Ma-ba and Mattel because of the similarities of face sculpts. Fun fact: The differences between Takara Barbie now jenny is Ma-ba Barbie is a centimeter taller than Takara jenny and narrower facial features that’s why they they have Ma-ba version 1 and Ma-ba version 2 of Barbie face sculpts. But back to the Legal battle , Takara believed consumers can’t tell the difference between Takara Jenny and Ma-Ba Barbie that’s why they filed a lawsuit against Ma-ba. Takara sued Ma-ba under unfair competition prevention law believing Mattel sharing secrets regarding Takara Barbie with Bandai. That’s why Ma-ba Barbie had 2 different face sculpts. despite the lawsuit Ma-ba continued their contract throughout the 1980s. In 1989 Ma-ba stops producing Barbie but Bandai would continue to produce/licensed Barbie til 1991 that’s why we have Bandai Barbie with different face sculpts but similar height body mold. Hope this helps! 💖😊

I do like the vintage style dolls made by Ma-Ba. But Takara Jenny is my favourite. I actually prefer her to Barbie. I feel like once Takara lost the license they really blossomed. Thank you for all of this information, it is so interesting and informative ❤️😊

I love Saila chan dolls, I have a couple and they literally look just like 3rd generation Licca chan in miniature, but they are not made by Takara they were produced by Tomy which back then was the other big company in Asia alongside Bandai and Takara… Ohhhh and the first canonically trans doll was Amanda Lepore’s by integrity in 2006 Joey!!!! Come here for a little spanking… I promise it’s a punishment for you not a treat for me 😈 … Also those dolls awards… no comment. A big following on social media doesn’t mean you’re any less clueless about everything… Mattel aesthetics are rarely my thing despite me growing up playing alongside my sister and her Barbies, I did like that Robert Redford lookalike Ken of the era though… 😆 My first ever female presenting doll was Licca chan before her I collected exclusively male fashion dolls… I’m an anomaly in the doll collecting world I guess… 😆 I don’t usually like what most people like except now with the RH dolls which you guys hate… LOL But for me it’s so weird for once liking something so easily available and reasonably priced! I love them but they’re bankrupting me… 😭
@DeanReen
@DeanReen 2 года назад
You are right, they are Tomy. I guess because Takara and Tomy ended up joining forces it can get a bit confusing. I thought if any other company had made a trans doll it would have been Integrity! Not a very accurate doll though, looks practically like a Barbie IMO. I love it when people collect male dolls. I always promise myself I will get more male dolls but I rarely do. LOL! I would say I "hate" RH. I just wouldn't buy any of them. They aren't my cup of tea. I do prefer LOL OMG, but even then. I was obsessed with the LOL Surprise dolls and thought i would LOVE OMG, but I got one and was like 🤷🏼‍♂️
