Loved it! And your hair looks amazing! Just a quick tip regarding the light and dark foundation issue: dot the darker foundation on the perimeters of your face and dot the lighter foundation in the center of your face and then blend! This way you are highlighting and contouring naturally.
Loved your video but just an FYI. Sunscreen should be the most important thing we put on our faces. You would have to put on a ton of foundation to get anywhere close to the amount we should be wearing every day. Luckily there are some great sunscreens for the face that work great with foundation. Loved all your tips!!!
Fabulously full days, but never too “busy” to catch a Busbee Style video 😃💕 I used to use foundation with the spf but learned you need a decent amount to protect so now i slather a 50 mineral spf on before my foundation . I love the la roche posay mineral 50 spf one. It’s tinted so all I need is a light powder foundation over it. I finally realize how important sun protection is! 👍🏻😍😘 love your curly hair!!
Thanks for posting these great tips. I always cringe though when I watch a video and the person says they use a product because it has sunscreen. You would never use the amount of product needed to get the protection that is stated on the product. 1 tsp of sunscreen is needed for your face and neck. Wayne Goss did a great video demonstrating how much product you would have to use. Sunscreen is the most important and easiest thing to use to protect your skin from premature aging.
I thought the same thing. Erin, I like your makeup looks and enjoy the videos. However, using that tiny dot of a SPF 15 is giving zero protection. Dr. Dray (awesome RU-vid dermatologist) has a great video as well as Wayne Goss. 1/4 tsp for face alone! I use a tinted sunscreen and that is my "foundation" and a concealer for any spots I want more coverage. I also have a lot of redness (I have rosacea) but I like that I can skip blush. Paula's Choice Resist Daily Light tinted sunscreen is my favorite. If you are getting tan, you are getting sun damage. Love that lipstick.
Yes, Dr Dray is very good. I overstated how much to use. I did a quick search and of course I am finding conflicting amounts. One said 1/3 to 1/2 t. and another said 1/2 t. I hope this at least gets people to do more research!
Busbee, you don’t have to look like a Barbie doll every single day, save that for special occasions. Please consider using only a tinted (or not) sunscreen instead of foundation (to prevent early aging signs) and a good waterproof mascara and something on the eyebrows. That’s really all one needs. You would look just as good. You might or might not want to apply a light layer of translucent powder to set. I don’t do this last step.
Thanks for the tutorial Erin. I really like the tip about blending your primer and foundation on the blending sponge. Much easier and more efficient use of time. Just wanted to mention that not all of us busy women are moms, I also have a busy schedule and appreciate learning ways to get my make-up done in a hurry as I head out the door. Thanks.
Nice look in the end but the title I think is misleading. That is a lot of products for a busy mom who “has to get out the door”- when I’m in a hurry there’s no way I’m doing primer, eye primer, liquid liner, lip liner. I know you said some steps could be skipped but then we don’t know how the makeup looks without them.
Agreed. I just do a tinted cc cream with SPF, a sheer shadow and a blush. Instead of eyeliner I use a nude, cream eye shadow stick to cover any pink in the lower lid and I throw on some mascara. I save the blush and eye shadow pallets, eyeliner and foundation/consealer for nicer days.
PS off subject...I can not tell u how much I love that varsity black sweater from Penneys. I will wear it all the time, even though I have lots of cardis. 💟

Do you use a separate SPF under your foundation? There’s no way you’re getting enough SPF just from foundation. If you haven’t seen it Wayne Goss has a good demonstration, but you’d need to wear a clown amount of foundation to get the SPF stated on the packaging.
great video! As I am in my mid 50's now, I wear alot less eye makeup, mainly contouring the eyes like this anid mascara. I like how you mixed the foundations. I've used fingers, foundation brush an sponge. I like the sponge but to me it uses more foundation up. Your hair is really beautiful. I may have to get that pretty lipstick color. (I have a ton of lipstick but have never tried Charlotte Tillbury).
Love your hairstyle. I’ve been trying to do my hair that way but can’t get it right with a regular curling iron. Show us how you curl it that way and what type of wand you use. 😊

So pretty! I love a polished but natural make up look. However.... when I watched this morning I was horrified when you said you don't use sunscreen... I knew that would generate tons of comments but I'll add ,mine anyway. Not only do you live in one of the sunniest states, but add altitude and snow reflection and your beautiful fair coloring... no sunscreen guarantees premature aging and spotted, leathery, wrinkled skin way before your time. I love Elta Md tinted. It adds a little glowy coverage (mix it with a little IT CC Cream for additional coverage if needed). It also works great under make up. think of it as a beauty treatment with beautiful anti aging ingredients that makes skin look and feel beautiful. .

I've worn MAC for 25yrs long wear or max coverage concealer , studiofix c7 eyeliner, lip liner , oh baby lip glass , mascara and go! It's wierd cuz I use to model, I should know better, but I love MAC MAKEUP it covers, I realized it's cuz I don't know how to do all the rest so thk u!
Puppy alert @12:34 ! :-) So cute with the tail wagging in the background. :-) Also I swear by my Mac 263 brush for the perfect cat-eye - and you can do a baby or big cat-eye - I'm all about the liner for my eye shape and I think good brushes are absolutely key when it comes to good makeup application. Plus they make life so much easier! :-)
Great video as usual Erin, however, I will reiterate what others have pointed out, sunscreen is absolutely the most important step in your makeup/skincare routine and it should not come from a foundation. With so many light sunscreen formulations out there, you should be able to find one that works for your skin type and in conjunction with your foundation. I see two problems with relying on your foundation for sun protection, one is that you will never use the recommended amount (who will use at least 1/4 of foundation on their faces?) and two, the sunscreen filters in foundations are generally not that great (many have only octinoxate and seldom any mineral filters like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide). Precisely because you live in CO and are outside all the time, I would suggest that you invest in a really good sunscreen. My personal favorites are by Elta MD, CeraVe and some Japanese ones like Hada Labo and Biore. By the way, you have great skin and I think a tinted sunscreen would suit your needs. You can then use foundation or concealer more strategically instead of heavy foundation all over. My out the door busy mom makeup is definitely more streamlined than yours, but I take time to douse my face and neck with sunscreen no matter what. I skip foundation for light powder just to tone down the shine from my sunscreen. I finish with blush, mascara and if I have time, I will use a bit of brow powder. I never walk out the door without wearing some sort of lipstick. When I am really, really pressed for time, I’ll skip the mascara and brow powder and just put on lipstick and blush. I do the same as you do with having my everyday makeup in a little bin and my brushes in a clear glass coffee mug that I can just grab. I do need to clear out the brushes I don't use so I can grab the one I'm looking for quicker, so thanks for that tip. Another good vid! Love the spanks tip...something similar I find also works is the old knee high hosiery either wadded up or slipped over fingers to brush makeup or deodorant off clothes. I don’t know why I still have several pairs though I haven’t worn them in ages so it’s kinda nice to repurpose 🤷♀️Thanks Erin.

hi my Beautiful Erin!..this was soo good..thank you.....You might just teach me to reduce some steps in my life...ugh...I am working on it....My favourite eyeshadow for this kind of look....just one colour in the crease is Mac Soft Brown...have you tried that one...it would be your colour!...I also love my liquid eyeliner have worn it since my twenties...you really get the best lining with them....pencils get messy sometimes and drag on skin....if you want to try budget version there is a little hidden gem liquid liner from Makeup Revolution ( in gold packaging)..lovely pointy tip!..and yes....the lash curler is not skippable!....It was nice to see you ..your ringlets are wonderful...have to try those sometimes....big hug....Jana xo

I don't currently struggle with acne from products. I would recommend some gentle exfoliation. If that doesn't work, you might want to consult a dermatologist. xo

My version of the daily makeup: moisturizer, sunscreen (tinted or not), mascara and a little eyeshadow on the eyebrows. Good to go. Looking fresh with minimal makeup. What’s with today’s women especially in the US only accepting themselves under a mask?
