I stopped eating fast food in 2005. It's not healthy and contributes to the nations obesity crisis. I can make it cheaper and would rather contribute to locally owned businesses that really use locally grown items. If more people did this the fast food chains would serve better food.
At a Popeyes I was charged an extra 2 dollars that didn't show on my receipt but showed in my bank statement...I contacted everyone from the Popeyes Headquarters down to the managers of the store and they were all a waste of time...nobody cared... Popeyes suck!!!!! They're probably doing it to A LOT of ppl..shady mofos😤
I worked at a McDonald's 20 years ago. I was a cashier, but one day I was at the fries station and was giving fresh, hot fries. I FILLED UP the boxes, customers were happy... until the supervisor saw me and asked me NOT to completely fill them up!! They were half filled up! I also did the same thing with Sundays, McFluries, shakes, etc. My customers were satisfied, but I got in trouble.
Marsonlord Gaming: No, not with the box (es) of nuggets. The managers that (usually) worked in my shift, and the kitchen crew were fast, clean and didn't cheat with the food. It was only a few times that the supervisor went to the store and told us to do some things in certain ways.
Marsonlord Gaming: When I said supervisor, I meant the zone or regional supervisor. Our store managers were different. In the evening shift, there were 3 guys that made a great team, and were able to handle the kitchen just them 3, even if the restaurant was full of customers... well, that was like 20 years ago...
I worked at McDonald’s when I was 18 and we were trained to squeeze the fry box so it would hold fewer fries...so yeah...they lied. There’s no real difference between a medium and a large fry 🤷🏾♀️
Even if they don’t squeeze the boxes some fries will be missing from the. We go out and have no choice to eat McDonald’s some and my dad always notices the small fries is always larger than the medium and large fries.
@@johndoe-wv3nu chicken breast: at least $5 a pound (and typically chicken is packaged at 1lb or more, ive never seen less than .75lbs in preweighed chicken) Potatoes, garlic, butter, milk: a cheap side overall, but each of those things is about $3 at the supermarket. (Because you have to buy them in larger quantities) Asparagus: one of the more expensive veggies, can be anywhere from $1-4 a bunch, depending on sales going on. I do agree a homecooked meal is better in a lot of ways, and if you do it right, cheaper. But you have to watch sales. Overall, your comment is misleading and inaccurate.
@@johndoe-wv3nu Oh, and i forgot to add in marinade ingredients, which adds even more to how much it costs... For someone who has none of the ingredients, i dont see them spending less than $20. *also, shopping at the supermarket takes time as well, so 30min cooking time turns to an hour, plus driving time.
Chicken breast (boneless, skinless) is about $1.89/lb. Where I live. I keep my pantry stocked with the basics. I can usually feed my family for under $1/meal. I know prices. I stock up when items are on sale. I also cook from scratch as much as possible. I make breads, soup stock etc. Tonight we had lo mein, fried rice and chicken fingers. Probably cost $4 to make and made about 8 meals.
Ive noticed that if you order fries through the drive through you always get half of what you ordered.. but if you want full fries you have to go in and order. Ive always noticed it and it honestly pisses me off, not being a lil tub tub about it but if i order a large i shouldn't get a medium in a large container. You know if thats an actual thing? Cause it happens everytime and not just at one location
Same here. I worked for Mc Donalds between '16 and '18, and I was told to do that.. I didn't, unless the person who was ordering was being a jackass about whatever. I loaded as much as I could into them, because 1.72 for a small, 2.91 for a medium and 3.23 for a large is ridiculous.. I also did with shakes, sundaes, smoothies and frappes if the customer was at least not terrible, and they had ordered it. But if they wanted to change it from a medium to a large while I was making it (they wanted a large but didn't want to pay the 3.23-4.99 depending on what drink they got) then well you got less because that's that's jackass move and you're just trying to get the employee in trouble because you're selfish.
I worked at a Mcdonalds for quite some time and I was never told to pinch the box most of the time my managers told me to fill it up more even when i though it was enough, when watching my managers do it themselves I saw them fill it all the way up as much as they could. Yet I have still seen other Mcdonalds do this so honestly it really depends on the store you go to
Eric probably more like when new fries are coming in. Sometimes it's just necessary to skimp a little on something depending on when the truck is coming, at least for locations that don't have another close by they can get things from. Nobody wants to hear there's no fries.
The location I worked at was busy all the time, it was number 1 in the whole city for smoothies sold. It really comes down to management, employees and supervisors.
Subway is definitely the worst, they advertise sandwiches stuffed with meat and you get a paper thin layer in reality and pay $12 for "double meat" to still get a very modest amount. That's a rip.
Tim M did you catch the new commercials for their wraps? They are claiming "double meat". But in tiny letters on the bottom, they say the "double meat" is compared to a 6 inch sub. So its actually the same amount of meat as in a footlong, which isnt alot.
Outside of California, Subway never displays sodium content of their foods, either. A big deal about "Nutrition information ", but no sodium count. "Doctors Associates" is the parent company. Uh huh.
I use to work for McDonalds and they scam customers more than all the other burger fast food especially with the fries. Knowing that they do that, every time I go to McDonald’s now I always tell them not to squeeze the fry container and make sure to fill the fries to the top lol. What’s annoying is how the workers and even manager gets upset when I tell them that and tells me that’s McDonald policy/rules.
Like the person in the story, I discovered I paid more for a McDonalds value meal instead of purchasing the same items individually. So I started ordering the items individually, but most of the time the cashier would ring it up as a value meal. So I started requesting the items to be rung up individually instead of as a value meal. Some cashiers were able to do it, but others were too lazy and would say they didn't know how. So I stopped going to McDonalds.
I can vouche for the pinching the bottom of the fry bag. I used to work at A&W and I always used to open the fry bag and fill it. The supervisor directly told me to not open up the bottom so that less fries would fit in the bag. I continued to open up the bottoms.
Kenazzle that’s the fault of bean counters who tell them it’s cheaper to settle than to fight it. I’m not sure that’s the case in the long run though. It seems to me settling attracts others to file suit in hopes of a fat paycheck.
it's also a customer service thing. if a customer complains about something, you don't just say "I'm right you're wrong", especially if it's something stupid. you just replace it, or give them a coupon or something.
The McDonald's fry part is true. During my first day working there I was on fry duty. I'd prop open the little red carton with a plastic scooper filled with fries that fits inside and the fries slide down inside. My boss comes up behind me and says, "No no no. Like this." She empties out the fry container I had just filled and loosely fits the scooper in the carton so that a lot less fries fit. "See? We waste less." -____-
Jopo1226 the McDonald's I worked at goes nuts if your on fries and you can see the yellow lines. Management would rather give full fries then deal with complaints
J Texas they just re molded one by my house and that shit still don't fuckin work I told the worker like WTF is that shit modern ass McDonald's with no ice cream😂
J Texas As a worker there, the machines that make the flurries need to be cleaned out regularly and can't handle making products for long periods of time
Last week I ordered a large Big Mac meal and the fries only came up to the small carboard side of the container, so I told the girl that I had ordered large fries. She threw out my small fires and replaced them with the large fries she should have given me in the first place. This is not the first time this has happened, so I always check my orders to make sure they are not cheating me.
Elespada, Wrong, most likely someone that order the small fries got the large ones if you watched when they are busy all the food is put in the same area and then bagged allowing for the small/large mistake to happen easily if they just look at fries on the order and not pay attention to the size
ba sillah - wrong , fries are not usually made to order , a certain number of each portion size fries are kept on a rack in the fry station and then replaced as they get taken . granted , occasional mistakes do happen but you'd have to be pretty incompetent to keep making that same mistake . i can confirm i have been repeatedly told not to fill the fry boxes up by shift managers . i also was told on many occasions not to squeeze the fry boxes out fully so they are thinner than intended and take less fries . additionally if you walk into a mcdonald's and it's not busy , keep an eye on the fry station because workers will scrape the old fries off the rack that have been sat there for hours if they don't have quite enough to fill a box . i've even seen managers do it a few times . edit - by the way , that's why you get the occasional super crispy fries in the box . they've either been stuck in the fry basket and re-fried about 10 times , or been sat in the fry rack for hours . don't eat them ! aside from that , generally mcdonald's employees are respectful and hygenic . you can't believe all the horror stories you hear on the internet . i no longer work at mcdonalds but please be nice to the employees , they're exhausted and want to go home but they will try and give you the best service they can . most of the time .
ba sillah you don't understand. That's not cheating, unless they were planning on making it small. People make mistakes. Plus it's fast food and food is supposed to be delivered really fast, sometimes mixing things up
Okay I'm not going to say where I work but the customers love when I'm there because I fill the fries all the way up. I'm sorry but it pisses me off when I go somewhere and they cheat me out my fries. I just can't do it to other people. My GM constantly does it. If she hands me a fry and it's not filled I'll go back over there and fill it up. When she hands me a drink a lot of times it's like just and inch above half way. So I have to go back to the soda machine and fill it all the way. I also put more ice cream in the shakes than what I'm supposed to. Boy the customers are going to miss me cause I'm leaving 2nd shift soon.
0IIIIII believe it or not in most countries, like my own, most of our meals are home-cooked. This applies to all classes - the rich and the poor. It's only the US where I've seen there's a culture of buying every meal. Obviously not everyone but it sure seems a lot more popular than it is anywhere else.
Burger King burgers are thinner than they used to be and the buns on the Whopper seem to be way too big. The sandwich is 90% bread. Not as good as it used to be.
They used to make an awesome double cheeseburger until people started pushing them to match McDonald's dollar price so they cheapened it to the point it's not worth ordering now.
That reminds me BK, KFC, Wendy's are similar as they always seem to be empty most of the time compared to McDees. Me love some good ole Wendy's and occasional bk whopper. They certainly are more bread than anything, still delicious time to time.
What about when u go to the store and get a bag of chips, u get a little over a half of bag, that's cheating, I get the party bag, not the family size, cuz my son loves chips, I pay 3.48 at Walmart and u don't even get a 3/4. That's cheap, u pay more for less of the product these days.
Stopped at a fast food place for a small coke. After the server filled the glass he seemed to be having an issue. I asked what the problem was and he said he couldn't locate a lid for the cup. I asked if he had lids for the next sized cup. He said yes and poured my drink into the next sized cup that was about forty cents more. The drink almost filled that cup to the top and we both looked at it realizing the cup had been narrowed and was taller but held almost he same amount as the smaller cup. Stopped at a seafood fast food place and ordered a seafood meal that came with fries and onion rings. I got one onion ring and when I asked the server about it she said that's all they included so I pointed out that the menu said served with onion rings. She finally included one more. Really. This is how businesses fail. I stopped at a barbecue place and ordered a sliced beef sandwich and then drove for a half hour before pulling it out. One bite and I looked in the sandwich to find it filled with sliced fat. Most barbeque places now have gotten so cheap that you have to ask for lean brisket or risk getting the stuff they used to make chopped beef sandwiches out of. My most memorable was going to taco bell and ordering their spicey chicken burrito. First bite rice, second bite rice, ate the rest and no chicken that I could identify. I complained to the manager that there wasn't any chicken in my burrito. He said he had weighed the chicken for each burrito. I told him there wasn't any in my order and he asked what I expected for the sale price. I pointed to the large picture up over the counter that showed the chicken burrito with multiple slices of chicken hanging out of the end and said I expected it to at least resemble the ad.
I agree and I've been around long enough to remember buying cokes for a nickle. Going to the movie theater matinee on saturdays. The ticket was 60 cents and drinks and popcorn were ten to fifteen cents each. You got to see a cartoon, a serial and two movies. I don't go to the movies anymore because I'm not going to spend what would amount to a days wages to get a couple of tickets plus refreshments. A couple of years back the toilet paper I use looked different. It was suddenly deeply embossed. Kind of fluffed up. I checked the package against one that was sitting on the shelf in the pantry. Fifty less sheets a roll. Now in that 12 pack they shorted me one roll of tissue for the same cost. I was making some from scratch brownies last night. I had bought a new package of baking chocolate and compared it to an older package on the shelf and noticed the package was a lot smaller yet you can bet I paid more for it. Back when I was a kid we bought one pound chocolate hershey bars. Now the bars aren't even half a pound and getting smaller each year. Remember when every product was advertised as new and improved. We need a law that companies must label all products when changes are made, such as now with less sheets or new smaller amounts in net weight. Lets see how manufactures deal with the blow back when they can no longer hide stealing from the consumer. Right now the internet is trending on pepper as mccormic has reduced the net weight in their cans of pepper while keeping the can the exact same except for the lesser weight of product. Companies no longer bother to claim settling of contents is why the packages are half empty. It's all simply to fool the consumer so they don't realize they're getting less all the time.
@@71160000 well, that just proves it...you bought sodas for a nickel but at the movies, they cost 10 to 15 cents....so even then they charged double or triple the cost....oh, and by the way....everything was cheaper then....including wages....
@ned kelly Another way they are fooling customers is cereal boxes that on a grocery store shelf are the same height and width but the boxes are different depths....that is, a 12 ounce box from the front looks exactly like the 16 ounce box. Unfortunately, they are not the same price on a cost per ounce basis. Another stunt food manufacturers are pulling is to package fewer cookies in bags/boxes that have not been shrunken in size. One of my favorite cookies used to come 36 cookies per package. It is currently down to 32, with the same size bag just bigger dividers between the rows of cookies. Candy bar manufacturers did the same thing when chocolate and sugar got more expensive. They kept the packages the same size but shrunk the candy.
Hahah, I’m rather entertained by these stories, it’s kind of adorable. And yeah, I do agree that these little things really annoy the crap out of you. Why can’t restaurants stop shortchanging their consumers? I won’t even mind if it’s halfway there, but some of them are absurd. I once got this prepackaged sandwiches, and realised that that the ham in the triangle cut sandwiches are 7cm in length and only 0.1cm in width. They really cut, arranged and packaged the ham in that way to make you think there’s a layer of ham inside, in reality you get 2 slices of 7x0.1cm ham
Kevin Byrne - I wonder why they didn’t just make or store the sprouts in a sanitary fashion. I’m a slob, and even I can grow and store alfalfa sprouts that won’t kill me.
@@jwoolman3425 lol? stores don't grow their own produce dude... they buy it... That's why whenever there is an E-coli outbreak its nation wide that effects your grocery stores, and fast food... they all buy from the same suppliers..
I stopped eating at Subway years ago. They are so stingy with their meat. One time a worker put a piece of chicken back into the tray when it was already on my sandwich! They don't deserve anybody's money.
Subway is stingy as fuck. But really no other options for a cheap "Fresh" meal for most people on lunch breaks who don't want to eat shitty fastfood. Double meat use to be 1 dollar more for a footlong back in the day and was DOUBLE MEAT............ today "extra" meat is 1.50 for 50% more meat. Such a scam.
I would blam produce costs. If they were not stingy, it would be like giving money away...But on a sandwich. I can agree though. What person fucks up the formula count for spicy Italian?
+Paula Johnson Idiotic statement. In order to make that statement with any degree of accuracy you would have had to have worked in thousands of different Burger King locations.
Worked BK for years, the sandwich issue is because they've been on a '2 for $4' sale forever. If you only buy one, its $3.19 or so. So she wasn't getting hosed, she was ordering a single sandwich - which is priced at $3.19 and shows as such on the menuboard.
Yeah...if it's fast food (it was Chipotle, actually) then that means that you don't need accurate information. You know....just because. Abolish the Dept. Of Education.
Mazara Italiana That analogy made zero sense at all. Wanting correct information is like complaining about the results of your actions? O.....ka....yyyyyyy......
CR7NEYMAR They were right to complain. It's literally false information if something says, for example, it has 350 calories but the reality is that it actually has 1600 calories. Yes, overall fast food places aren't going to be healthy but it doesn't mean you want to eat something with the highest calorie count.
Joseppe Vilchis Good that they get caught then, cheating is cheating it is a crime. Better to just eat at home, the food is better and high quality anyway and you care about making your food safe to eat.
Tony Samson yeah *sometimes*. That doesnt include the cases where they literally sued a company becaude they themselves were too fucking stupid for their own good. (Coffe was hot and they spilled it on themselves => lawsuit!... Put cat in mucrowave to dry => lawsuit!...) these things can be easily avoided by having some fucking common sense lol
People who cite the coffee lawsuit as silly clearly have no idea what they are talking about. Educate yourself before you start spouting off your uniformed bullshit.
People like to make fun of the 'coffee is hot, duh' lawsuit, but really the coffee was way more hot than necessary (180 degrees). Hot but drinkable coffee shouldn't cause you third degree burns. At that temp even if you managed to not spill it, you'd need to let it cool off for several minutes before it would be drinkable without burning your mouth.
Word. Mom & Pop restaurants don't have to pay for the 'brand name' sign on the doors and windows. We have a local Mexican Food place called Nico's... named for the grandfather that founded the place. Huge portions, terrific food. Nearby is a Filoberto's. Absolute garbage.
I worked at two Dunkin Donuts and it's true. If you order a bagel, croissant or biscuit with "butter on it", you are actually getting margarine. You only get real butter if you request it on the side. Both locations I worked for went through dozens of tubs of margarine per week.
Because of that law suit for the subs, we don't get a good deal at Subway. We had it better at Subway pre-law suit because you have to pay $10 for a sandwich now that would otherwise be half that.
Daaaaaamn, around here is 7.99 for a normal footlong and 8.50 for a chicken bacon range. Not sure what happened where y'all live but my god that has to suck.
Jesus is a sure foundation. When you build your life on Jesus you will not be moved. You may shake, you may bend but you will not break. Trust in the Lord, in His arms you will find salvation, peace, joy, wisdom, and protection. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah to the King
Danny Well.. if I've learned anything from watching Gordon Ramsey is that what you said isn't always true. I've gone to my fair share of amazing local restaurants, but there are also those which aren't as good. I don't really enjoy fast food, but the entire premise of it is the cheap cost and quick delivery, which doesn't happen all the time at a local restaurant.
Danny not in Maine. Maine’s actually like 5x - 6x the price and doesn’t have any of the quality. That’s right. I said the fast food place has more quality than Maine goods.
No mention of Starbucks?? They are the biggest cheaters out there. I get half a cup of coffee every time I go there. That is why I stick to QuikTrip. Maybe not quite as good, but at least I'm not getting cheated.
Here’s a tip for when you visit subway. Instead of asking for a 6 inch sub, ask for a whole sub and then split it. I’ve noticed they put more “toppings” on the 12 inch sub than the 6 inch one.
These companies have to pull a profit, and I honestly have no complaints considering how cheap fast food is. You get what you pay for. If you want a steak go to a steakhouse. If you want a cheap meal go to a fast food joint.
Your either a manager of one of them or a idiot or probably both, the problem is these people are not getting what they paid for so quit with the " you get what you paid for " bullshit
I remember the subway lawsuit, all the company did was toss the old bread forms for new bread forms an inch longer, still getting the same amount of bread though, just makes the sub much harder to close now
I agree Subway may not be the best food choice, but I think it's one of the best fast food joints around, worked there and ate the food for 4 years straight and never got sick. Can't begin to tell you how many people I know and me too have gotten food poisoning from lousy McDonald cheese burgers.
Paula don't forget at one point Subway had Azodiacarbonamide as an ingredient in their bread. A chemical substance used to make yoga mats and shoe rubber.
the fact that no one tried measuring a Subway 12in sub until just recently is more worrying than all of this. people should be much more concerned about not questioning what's around them or what they're told more than anything.
Baddie WoW No. A foot is an imperial measuring unit. My height is 5 foot 11 inches, for example. If I was 1 inch taller, I would be 6 foot tall. If I only was 11 inches tall, and I grew an inch, I would be 1 foot tall, or 12 inches. Sources: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_customary_units en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_units
Hsha thats juat people being dickheads for no reason except they can really cause its not like a single macdicks can pay the staffs of over 20 mic dicks.... Oh wait it can!! Dickheads everywhere
I'll be honest, yes a lot of places don't fully fill the fry boxes. I currently work at McDonald's just as a part time job and my Supervisors will ask me to fill up the fries all the way. It all depends on the owners of the store, but keep this in mind.
The last thing you'd want in your Burger King burger is someone's foot fungus. But as it turns out, that might be what you get. A 4channer uploaded a photo anonymously to the site showcasing his feet in a plastic bin of lettuce. With the statement: "This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King." Admittedly, he had shoes on. But that's even worse. The post went live at 11:38 PM on July 16, and a mere 20 minutes later, the Burger King in question was alerted to the rogue employee. At least, I hope he's rogue. How did it happen? Well, the BK employee hadn't removed the Exif data from the uploaded photo, which suggested the culprit was somewhere in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. This was at 11:47. Three minutes later at 11:50, the Burger King branch address was posted with wishes of happy unemployment. 5 minutes later, the news station was contacted by another 4channer. And three minutes later, at 11:58, a link was posted: BK's "Tell us about us" online forum. The foot photo, otherwise known as exhibit A, was attached. Cleveland Scene Magazine contacted the BK in question the next day. When questioned, the breakfast shift manager said "Oh, I know who that is. He's getting fired." Mystery solved, by 4chan. Now we can all go back to eating our fast food in peace.
Nianbo Zhang the time it takes you travel and wait in line/drive-thru to order and receive your fast food is time it takes to cook the same foods at home.
Assuming everyone has time to make their own food, some people have kids, wives, family, lives, and careers to assume, no wonder why fast food joints are so popular. Ignorant.
vh9network Tell that to lazy obese Americans or anyone else who actually have the TIME (keyword) but can't bother to buy and cook fresh ingredients at home-- unlike busy/working individuals That is your directed audience, right? Or are just incredibly fucking ignorant?
Eternal Truth The Light That Never Dies -- You seem to be the only ignorant one, calling Americans lazy n fat. People seem to forget about Mexico, Britain, etc. Every country has obese people. Every country has thin people. Some more than others. But the point is, every country has thin n fat. You only pinpointing one country is ignorant.
As long as I have the ingredients ready to go at home, the time it takes me to make a Whopper myself is about the same amount of time it would take me to drive to BK, order one, and get home with a pathetic soggy mess. If you don't know how to cook, learn. If you made it yourself and it tastes like shit, then learn to make it NOT taste like shit. LEARN.
I've worked for companies that cut corners. Customers get mad and suddenly it was just my building doing the practice and it's nothing official... but everyone everywhere else seemed to do the same thing.
some people are just ridiculous. it seems some people have issues with fast food restaurants, despite eating their food regularly. i guess in their mind, fast food owners are rich, and can afford to have a pay out. lack of respect and reflection of one's self is the problem in these individuals. shame, but this is one reason society is shitty at times. no sense of accountability/responsibility :(
😂😂 Judge threw out the Subway lawsuit. Over 25yrs ago when I had my first job at McDonald's my manager emptied out a fry I had prepared and said, that's a pound of potatoes! He then taught me the proper way to fill the fries by pinching the carton before applying the fries.
I would be fired on the spot if I sweezed the bottom of the fry box to fill it with less fries. My managers don’t put up with that. They like keeping their McDonalds the best in the county
Well said. I think most people are skeptical of claims from disgruntled employees on the internet. Your confirmation McDonalds teaches quality control and consistency is an important response to the conspiracy theorists.
To be honest, the locations here also give you way more than the thing can hold. But I'm sure other people are wondering where to find these locations...
Well, not every location has the philosophy. A lot of franchisees are penny pinching bastards. Case in point. The McD where I live in Brooklyn has a running battle with people who come in, use a computer and plug into their outlets. I've seen the Manager come and scream at people who use them. But the McD in my hometown in Vermont will come out as offer lend you extension cords to run between where you're sitting to their outlets if they see you're using a computer.
crystal sparks i liked that one about subway where because 1 guy wouldnt settle for 525,000 dollars for a 11inch sub the judge threw the case out the window and all them idiots dont get a cent. The judge is pretty smart
crystal sparks I think of two young people getting married so early.. dam gold digger want tax breaks play house and know dam well they ain’t doing it right.. rich quick.. hahahaha trying to bone their way to happiness .. 🤣
I'm not one to complain even when they short me money or forget my food .life is to short to get upset about anything stay happy ☺ and you'll almost never have a bad day
If you do the research, most fast food restaurants who use chicken uses 99% real chicken plus added ingredients. But subway shockingly uses 50% chicken
A double cheeseburger is a McDouble with two slices of cheese, a medium fry is a small fry and half a small fry, the number 9 (2 cheeseburger meal) is the same price as if you got a double cheese burger medium fry and drink separately. It’s cheaper to get a cheeseburger than a hamburger. Managers get mad if we fill the fry container all the way. We also get chewed out for giving more sauces than they paid for. You still have to pay for a large water because you’re not paying for the drink itself you’re paying for the cup. If you want a buttermilk crispy sandwich but don’t wanna pay 5 bucks get the biscuit and sub it for a bun. We are told specifically not to fill your ice cream Sunday all they way and don’t think asking for no ice for your mccafe drink will get you more coffee. The machine only puts the same amount for every size.
If you're ordering two cheeseburgers, fries and soda consistently from McDonald's, you are going to need that extra change for statins and the ensuing stent years down the road.
No you aren't, that's actually not that much food. Those little burgers are only 303 calories each. Medium fries is 340. Diet coke, 0. Total 946. I am losing weight eating 2000 calories a day., so 946 is very doable. It is pretty high in saturated fat and cholesterol, but if the rest of their diet is pretty good and they exercise, it'll be fine.
don't get me wrong I eat from time to time but there are alot of better options...then again I live in a area where there are alot of markets and even cheap restaraunts available
There's always "better" options to someone. Doesn't mean anyone is cheating themselves, most people who go to fast food know what they are getting. I love fast food and am rarely disappointed as long as my order is correct.
Depending on the Subway you go to Managers often hate 5-6 dollar footlong promotions. So they find more ways to skim off the top such as cutting subs a certain way and giving you 6" inch meat portions, replacing lettuce with cabbage, giving barely any of the other veggies, stretching the sauces, and claiming to be out of breads/veggies when they're not.
Been to Chipotle, Panera Bread, Hardees, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen in last year. All had mediocre food, smaller portions than 2 years ago, all cost almost twice what they did 2 years ago. Now give my business to locals and 1 local chain for reasons above.
archdes10 when I serve fries at McDonald's I usually serve it till it's overflowing to my managers disapproval. I get along with them pretty well so they don't really do anything about it they just tell me not to probably because they have to but i do it anyway. Sometimes I even put extra fries in the bag when ever my managers aren't around and the customer seems nice. My motto is simple: treat costumers the way you would want to be treated as one.
Did they ever stop the entire restaurant prep and serving staff dead in their tracks in order to read an employee's letter accepting them into college? jc
As one lawsuit indicated, it's not about getting a tiny bit of less food or charged a buck or two more...It's the principle! I love when consumers challenge large corporations. Although it's primarily lawyers that benefit, it forces corporations to stay on their toes. That said, I have some important questions for everyone: 1. Hands up if you've ever taken extra condiment packets, salt&P, napkins, etc. from a fast food place? 2. Hands up if you've ever asked for extra dipping sauces...and always got them. 3. Hands up if you've ever complained about a product.. and always got a replacement...no questions asked. 4. Hands up if you've asked for a little more topping on a sub, burrito, taco etc...and always got it. I see a lot of hands in the air. Including mine. It's hard to be too critical of the fast food business when most of us are guilty of 'bending' the rules and/or taking advantage of their great customer service.
I view it as decreasing the amount of funds available for dumb advertising. Why am I having to pay for singing and dancing to tell me your breakfast sandwich is now available 24/7/365? Just have someone read the ad. It costs less.
Bob bobbyy...As I said, I agree the restaurants have no right to swindle. And we'll have to disagree that "every time" we buy food from these places its low quality. I'm a big fan of the consistent-quality of major fast food chains. They follow quality-control rules that customers count on. For example, a Big Mac basically tastes the same everywhere. Of course, there can be exceptions. But all a person has to do is make a valid complaint on the quality of a product. They'll give you a free replacement. The key point I'm making isn't about quality of food. It's about how people should grab some perspective before complaining about a few less fries (etc).
In japan the big-mac is made with much better sauce, beef, and veggies. In the UK its the same, as with most of the EU. The US gets the short end of the stick because our laws are for the CEO and not the people buying the food.
hugh jorgan: Most of the time I get my order WRONG at the McDonald's near my house. Even when I WRITE THE LIST of the items I want!!! 😲 Last time, I bought food and a toy for my daughter (not the actual happy meal), and when I got home, there WAS NO TOY and no sauce for the nuggets... that's why I check the bags before I leave the restaurant, but that day I trusted them... no toy, no sauces...
This happened to me at Wendy's not once but twice a. I would go thru the drive thru and order a large frosty and whoever was doing the frosties at this location, was able to fill the cup along the sides only! Thus leaving an empty inner cup so that it appeared to be full. I haven't ordered a frosty since 2011.
hardtyme3, I know this is a bit of a necropost, but I actually work at a Wendy's, and having worked with their Frosty machines, I can say that it is physically impossible to fill along the sides. The machine's spout is too wide, and the consistency of the Frosty when it comes out causes it to fill the entire cup. Maybe it's just a location thing, but if your local Wendy's is anything like mine, this just doesn't make sense.
A lawsuit over bean sprouts? I am not surprised a lawyer took this case, but I am surprised that a court actually took it serious. I was always under the impression that if you don’t like something, don’t purchase it again. If you don’t like something, don’t buy it. If you don’t like the way it is being served to you, or of the restaurant that is serving at, don’t go back. Chances are you’re not the only one and the problem will resolve itself.
Unless these stories had a legit background, like the coffee spill lawsuit, which is always incorrectly used as an example of stupid lawsuits: these certainly are stupid and I want to know where ppl find the time.
limpnjen, I could understand some of the false advertising or the false calorie count, but that Jimmy John's one really irritates me. Who sues a place because they temporarily pulled an item that was making people sick? I could see suing them because they made you sick, but because they temporarily pulled it and didn't reprint entire new f****** menu boards. Telling a person that they are out something temporarily should be more than enough. Or I don't know, pay attention to the f****** news because everyone knew that Jimmy John's pulled the sprouts. Everyone knew it.
Unless they're rich and have nothing to do, even the calorie count or whatever I can't imagine suing over it. Getting a lawyer, building a case, that takes time...I can't imagine the "average Joe" wasting that; when the reward may be coupons.
Allyson Wonderland and the thing about that is jimmy johns posts signs at the cash register stating that sprouts were temporarily unavailable but most customers dont pay attentiom
I hate the new digital menus at McDonalds. They deliberately don't display the specials like 2 for $4 breakfast sandwiches. (But they will show the 1-2-3 "special offer" where it is $3 for a breakfast sandwich.) And you have to be specific about which breakfast sandwich because it has to be the Sausage Egg McMuffin or you just wind up paying for two full priced sandwiches. But you would never know which to order because it is not on the menu! You also don't get any savings when ordering Value Menu combos when it includes special offer items. So annoying.
I work at McDonald's and I know what you mean menu is a pain sometime. All I can say is use the survey or contact the corporate offices for your area as for me I'm just a grill cook
The reasons why people sue other people and enterprises are plain stupid and should all be thrown out. If you are not happy with what you get to somewhere else.
Do what most people do and say something. I.e. is that a footlong? Can i get a different bread? Works every time. Dont settle for less. Theres a reason why they make it right infront of you.
McD's served me "old" fries. I had used drive-thru a couple of months back on the start of a very long drive ahead of me. I didn't check the bag (as I should have before driving away) so when I reached in the bag to eat some, they were cold and stiff. Rigor Mortis had overtaken my fries! I. Was. Pissed. Although I was down the road (about 2 miles) I drove back and complained and asked for a replacement. Ya know what happened? Firstly, they denied giving me old fries then, they took the fries out of my box, mixed them with a few "fresher" ones and handed me the damned things in a box in another bag! This time I checked them. little did they know I watched them do this! By this time I had to leave or I would be late for an appointment. I get down the road, tried them and they were as I watched them do...old mixed with a few fresh ones. Now I order fries a certain way as to avoid having the same thing happen. If it should happen again, I'll go inside and speak to the manager. And btw, a slower store is more likely to do this than a consistently busy store. Beware. I can just imagine what they do with other items...
A coworker ended up with red inside beef burgers from McDonald's. Now they are supposed to be cooked to well done. He goes back and shows the counter clerk. She immediately gets the manager on the quick. The manager sends in a priority replacement order. He gets his replacement order and leaves, then decides to stop and check. Red again. He goes back. The manager this time stood with the cook and made sure proper cooking was done. Who knows how many undercooked patties went out that night. Now I think they have a timed double sided cooking machine. Put the frozen patties in, close the top, hit the start button and the machine does not release the top until enough cooking time has elapsed.
C Perez I ordered fried mushrooms once. They brought the basket to the table and when I complained about the roach that ran out of the basket they refried them and returned them to me.
i worked at mcdonalds in high school for two years; we were trained to give less fries and shown how to shake the fries so less were needed to make the packages look full. also to fill the drink cups full of ice before adding any liquid(yrs 1984/1985).
Pacino that hard-up he had to do commercials for Dunkin Donuts? Reminds me when Peter O'Toole (yes, that Peter O'Toole- of 'Lawrence of Arabia' fame) did one for Pizza Hut back in the early 90's. Sheesh!
acrovader He lost a lot of money dealing with Ken Starr as well as not getting that many roles anymore. When I saw him on Larry King several years ago, he mentioned doing some theater work.
When I worked at McDonald’s there was a 2 year promotion of the sausage egg McMuffin for a dollar. When a customer bought the value meal they paid almost 50 cents for than each item separate. I heard this every day!
