Free audio tape attached to the April 1990 issue of UK high-performance motoring magazine Fast Lane (published 1984-1994). Pictures are from the 24-page supplement accompanying the tape (I'm missing the main magazine so begin with a shot of a 1990 road test compilation book Dream Cars).
The cars featured are track-tested at Brands Hatch circuit by Mark Hales with Dilly Barlow as passenger (radio presenter, narrator). The following cars are featured:
Aston Martin Vantage
Porsche 959
Lister Mk3
Lamborghini Countach
This tape was a follow-up to one released the previous year: • Fast Lane 1989 Track T...
This copy was digitised/restored from an original tape by myself in around 2004.

Thank you for posting this! As a young lad this edition of the magazine was like magic! Actually hearing the cars as they were 'exercised' was like being in a different dimension, brought it to life in a way nothing had done before. We are so spoiled nowadays with RU-vid having videos of every exotic under the sun...

Wow - Fantastic! I remember this from when I was a child playing the cassette so often it eventually wore out! It helped shape me into the petrol head I am today! Thank you so much for uploading it. Amazing!

@@lhassall77 don't know, i've just seen a letter in "Sir!" in issue from January '94, and there were mentioned two "CAR Videos"

I have this very tape in the drawer next to me sadly not in the best condition so thanks for posting. Obviously the Countach sounds amazing but the Lister is pretty awesome too

hmmm, sounds like a standard exhaust and poorly functioning throttle linkage. Agree with wanting left foot brace tho. Only using 6000? on track, that's not trying! Re gearchange, wondering if she was properly warmed up? wish Id bought this mag and tape at the time! surprised brakes failed so quickly. NICE report, think he would have found it more comfortable without a helmet!
