As stated in the beginning of the video, this is meant as an end game farm. Once you beat the game and unlock chapter select. Characters get an exp bump. Cloud, Sleek Saber double ATB Charge Rate Up, Armor with at least 3 slots one linked pair, Hermes Shoes, Enemy Skill Materia with HP absorption, Plasma Discharge is pretty brutal, combine with Steal materia Mug with HP absorption, Elemental on weapon with Fire and Ice Materia (or whatever the elemental weakness of what you are about to fight is) and First Strike Materia.
I prefer this with yuffie cause she has a better luck stat, doppelganger makes it more likely one of the mugs will work, and she gets buffs for stealing
Personally I like the Southern gonaga grand horn circuit farm since out in the overworld all 7 toons get ap and exp. Arena has better gains per fight but limit you to only those 3 toons
Being out in some world areas is absolutly better especially before finishing the game. Once you can select chapters, this can help you. Both are good farms.
I finished the game being level 50 and 49 with some characters, just go to chapter 13 in hard mode, skip cutscenes and as soon as you reach the temple kill all guards with firaga, before you kill the last standing guard (there will be 2 that won't die, not even from 3 or 4 firagas, the rest of them die with just 1), pause and restart battle (you don't get AP sadly but tons of EXP) I leveled up from 50/49 all the way up to 70 in like 15 mins with this method.
It's not worth killing either of 2 "big" guys in that fight. Put magnify - fire and ice on the same person as a swift cast - fire. Chocoking cape and first strike will start you with 2 full bars. start fight, firaga one of the 3 little dudes by the boxes, and as soon as you see damage numbers on the 3 just reset. With an exp up materia its like 12k per retry and it takes like 5 seconds a run.
You actually do get ap. I saw materias level up and then I checked after retry battle and it didnt show.. Did it again and again.. Completed the fight and all the AP from all the attempts accumulated. I think trick is must complete the fight before moving on? I could be mistaken but it appears true for my file
@@mikedell3187 yes, you have to complete the fight to get the AP, but the trick here is to level up quick, so in order to avoid the trip back to the temple every time, you don't finish the fight, just retry it. There are other methods for quick AP farm.
Better method: Go on easy mode, do the "wizards of the sands" or "wizards of the desert", whatever the sahagin thing is in cosmo. 10k EXP every time you do it, wand 28 AP. It's at least 4x faster than this method.
I’m not getting 5000 XP with each battle. What am I doing wrong? I’ve battle the hoard 20 times and I’m only getting like 500XP per battle at this rate I’m going to have to challenge them 5000 times before I get to level 50.
Cliffside Storehouse in Gongaga. swiftcast - ice, magnify i ice and fire, hp mp swap. It's about 3600 AP per slot per hour on hard (not including AP Up or chocobo armband modifiers).
@@mimcduffee86 yeah I like that route too, but I prefer the one in Nibel because the crafting materials are more useful. Not sure how much AP per hour it is but it's probably a little more than the grandhorn route bc it's more enemies per fight.
@@Taric25 I've done some testing, and the Gongaga route is better for AP, check out Primal Liquid's newer video for the fastest AP. I only recommend Nibel if you need the high level crafting resources. But basically the beaches to the west, and then fast travel back to the mainland and run up the stairs, then reset. It's about 6 or 7 battles and avg around 9-18 AP each
Also don’t forget to get the Chocobo armband at the chocobo sage sidequest that triples AP and is has a matching slot. So you can’t tag on an AP up materia as well making this farming method even faster.
I'm probably tripping but I think there is enmity build up, I played around with multiple characters by giving them commands to perform high damaging skills, majority of the time they change target right off the bat. Edit: You could also use the Provoke command when fighting a large group of enemies, I main Red and pop Provoke at start of the fight as I need them vengeance gauge.
@@charlieindiaalpha2194 Red 13 with provoke and either weapon that has vengeance buildup is just nasty. Add an enhanced draconic ring, steadfast + precision defense, auto-weapon ability and limit support. He turns into a support monster that is constantly refilling limit breaks, HP, ATB, and giving haste.
@@mimcduffee86thats the way to use red for sure. Thats how im using him aswell. But i dont have the auto skill on him. Since i switch alot during combat and try to manual all 3 characters.
Yeah, I pretty much only ever use it if something needs to be countered but I don't want to use the ATB on counterstance or if I want that last 25% of an ATB bar cuz the enemy is about to stagger.
If one of the enemies breaks off from the pack and doesn't die to the triple slash it's even faster. Just retry without killing him so you don't have to sit through the long ass load screens.
Thanks had just had make sure lol. I too did do devil desperados but wondered if it was best, now im here this guide helps with the mudane materia leveling lol. Ive decided to complete everything thats possible to beat on first run and even leveling materia when I have no point just to say i done it XD. Subbed also.
Not trying to bash you or anything, but anything that only works for 2 characters is rubbish. You might get less AP in the outside world, but *ALL* your charcaters get it.
Actually it seems like they do. When I finished leveling up cloud and Barrett, I switched to yuffie and she was level 69, which is one level behind. This method definitely works
How os this end game when only 2 ppl gets the exp ap etc. I’m mid game and all my chars get tons of ap which I then sell for tons of Gil and repeat XD.
